I'm so sad to say that Pollo has gone downhill since my last review. I have been there twice in as many weeks and have had a bad experience both times. The ingredients in the soup have changed, special orders are now a burden, and the staff is rude. I have a condition where all I can eat sometimes is soup. Pollo was my go-to because they had the best soup around. I used to ask them to put the chicken on the side because I have to monitor how much meat is in the soup. They always so sweetly obliged me and put the 2 pieces of chicken in some tinfoil and wrapped it on top of the soup. Last week when I went, it was like I had asked them to murder their sister. I was met with rudeness and resistance to accommodate this request. They finally did, but when I unwrapped it at home, my chicken looked like something the dog had torn up and all that was left was a pile of bones mostly. This week, they decided to leave the chicken out all together, so I paid $10 for some broth with cabbage in it. I also got no salsa. As for the soup, when I first started eating at Pollo many years ago, the soup contained 2 chicken pieces, 1/2 of a very large skin-on potato, and a small corn on the cob, along with some smaller veggies as well. They soup is now celery, cabbage, onions and tomatoes...maybe a small piece of potato, and chicken IF you're lucky and they put it in there. I mean...the name of the soup on the menu is CHICKEN SOUP. Might consider changing the name of your soup if you aren't going to include it as an ingredient. Plus $10 for veggie soup seems way out of my price range for a meatless soup. Very disappointed. Now I don't know where to go for soup... :( PS - Pollo Regio Customer Service contacted me. They offered me 'points' towards my next purchase if I download their app. HUH?? What a joke. Worst experience ever. Ordered a whole chicken through the drive thru once we brought the chicken home for our family to eat. The chicken was raw and bleeding near the bone. I called for a refund and told them the entire whole chicken was raw. They said they may have set the timers incorrectly while cooking. Update Review In the past I have always had great service from restaurant but not today. It started in the drive thru with the boy at the window who kept referring to me "Sir". I said ok no problem I get to the window he the proceeded to snatch my credit card out of my hand and abruptly slam the window closed. With great hesitation I got my food from him and wouldn't you know he slams the window closed again before I could tell him there was no sauce in my bag. The food is absolutely awful, I just ordered through uber eats with high hopes for the food pricing and it was just awful. the chips are super hard and have seasoning that taste like fry seasoning. My family and I have had their food multiple times this summer, but no more. Here is why: 1. Yesterday, we went and ordered the 2 chicken meal. We made substitutions. I asked for fries. When I got home, the fries were not in the bag. 2. When we got the back yesterday, 2 of the containers of rice spilled into the bag. They stuff everything into one bag, which is silly. 3. Today, I went back up there to give them another chance. I was in a rush so I didn't have the chance to check the bag again. They gave me beans and left out the cheese that I ordered. We do not eat pork, so we will throw the beans out. This is two times in 2 days that they have royally screwed up our orders. We like going here for something different. Most of the meats (especially the chicken) are especially juicy and flavorful. Don't expect typical Tex-Mex or even traditional Mexican because this is Salvadoran food, but it is somewhat similar in many aspects. They have a great salsa bar and everything is made fresh. So I'll like to begin that my family has used pollo regio for catering on family gatherings and it's always been great. Today we decided to finally give them a try ourselves. We got the half grilled chicken added some sausage links, overall this was enough for both of us. The meal was affordable and even more so, delicious. The chicken was amazing! The ranchero beans tasted authentic and the rice was good too. Beans needed a bit more salt but they were kind enough to provide a small package in the bag. The salsa wasn't spicy but it was zesty, the green one was specifically good. Don't bother with the links, they weren't anything special, too salty as well. I got this meal to go and even though it was all in one bag, everything was well secured, no spill whatsoever. Unfortunately, there was one issues, their customer service could be better. I literally waited 9 minutes standing on the front counter until they finally acknowledged me. I ordered ahead of time and could even see my food but the staff literally ignored me. Seems they were more occupied on the driveway than the single customer in the store! Regardless, the food was good and everything was in order so I can't be too mad. Improve the customer service and I'll be sure to come back for that delicious rotisserie chicken. I keep seeing these El Pollo Regio's pop up all over the place. One day, I decided to give it a try when I found one kinda ish close to me other than Arlington and Camp Bowie. I like the chicken. It's pretty good. However, I LOVE the Carne Asada and the Quesadillas. The quesadillas are pretty good, but the Carne is my favorite. They give you two sauces with it a red and green sauce. The green is spicy, but good. You get rice and beans as well. The Carne Asada meal is about $8 and they give you A LOT. The styrofoam container is filled with meat plus an onion and pico. Even though they have a drive thru, it takes about 10 minutes to get your food. Which is fine with me because that means it's freshly made! This location is right around the corner from a Chik Fil A, so when the kids want Chik Fil A, mama goes here! read more
