Extremely friendly service and very good food. Though they were closed when I called to find out their hours, they still made me a dish. They offer grilled chicken prepared in a variety of ways. There is a strong mexican influence and the food is very good. The price point is more than fair, as well. You get a lot of food for your money here. I would definitely recommend a visit to this place if you are in the Hoover, Alabama area.

The number 1 chicken, rice beans, tortillas which I skipped, and a drink. Fixings from the garnish bar.

This place is super divey, affordable and yes surprisingly good. It's not a 5 star meal but it is cheap and hot. A full meal of rotisserie sazon flavored chicken, rice, refried beans and a drink here costs less than $7!!! It was a little more blander than I would have liked but they have all the sauces and fixings at the garnish bar to liven up your meal. The clientele is mostly Hispanics which is always a good sign. Girl at the register was patient with us because I needed time to know what I wanted. However this place looks like a converted subway. Not good for large groups. Tiny booths so if you need space to breathe or are heavy set, this may be uncomfortable. They do however have a big screen TV that plays Latin American soaps. Hoover needs more places like this. I love diversity and I appreciate these authentic family owned local places. Keep up the good work!

How is there not a line outside the door of this place and wrapped around the building? They're roasting the chickens right in front of you. They've got pictures on the menu. You can eat real food here for less money than it costs to get fast food. People need to know these things. It's not fancy, and I don't think the menu was designed by some world famous chef. But, it's fresh, delicious, authentic and the value is really hard to match. Quick lunch? Real food? Unpretentious atmosphere? Yes please.

First found this little gem about 4 years ago....we have been loyal customers since then. Good is still as good as ever. Price gone up a little recently, but very reasonable considering raw material cost went up recently with the pandemic. They are doing a good job with social distancing with every other table closed down and employees are masking. Employees are always nice and efficient! Definitely enjoys take-outs from here and glad to support a fantastic small business!

My friend stumbled upon this spot and I'm SO glad she did. We didn't expect much but we were absolutely stunned at the flavor and value that you get for your buck. This place is CHEAP and the portions are HUGE. I had the chicken plate with tortillas. It came with rice and beans also. There was so much chicken and it was seasoned so well. The rice and beans were a bit bland but the chicken made up for it. I made little tacos with all the ingredients. It came with salsa which was SPICY. There were lots of seeds in it. I also tried the guacamole which was chunky and fresh; I loved it. The tacos were phenomenal. I love the minimalism of Mexican street tacos. The flavor of the meat really shines through. I will definitely be back!

Grilled chicken, refried beans, potato salad and delicious picante salsa. This is the best chicken that I've had and by far the best potato salad. It's going to be our go-to tailgate each week for the fall! Delicious! Riquisimo!!!

I've drove by here several times and always wanted to stop by, so I finally did. They are known for their chicken, but they have a very large menu with different items. The chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection, along with the rice and beans. Their red salsa is to be used on the chicken, however, it is very spicy. Also, I prefer green salsa but they only serve their house red salsa. The tacos and guac were also very good and tasteful. They have a wide variety of mexican sodas, the one pictured is grape flavored. It was actually very good and refreshing. Overall, the staff was very nice and respecful, and it did not take long to get our food. Due to COVID-19 you must wear a mask to come in. Dine in is available and some tables are closed off to enforce social distancing.

One word: mole. The mole is fricking delicious and at a wonderful price. Favorite Mexican in the city.

This is definitely worthy of more than 5 stars! No doubt some of the best chicken ever. Moist and juicy on the inside, yet still chargrilled and crispy on the outside. Just like the other reviews mention, you get a huge amount of food for a small price. The condiment bar is made up of fresh salsas, two types of pickled onions, shredded cabbage, lettuce, minced onion with cilantro, and fresh lime slices. If you haven't been to Pollo Lucas, you need to go now! You won't be disappointed. And if you have, I know you will be going back :)

So this has been on my list and I finally came here on a Thursday evening with my son. It's at the end of a shopping center where a Walmart is. We got there about 5:30 PM. It was not busy at all. We were promptly greeted by a hostess that sat us in a booth. We started off with the chips and salsa, but on the menu it does say after two baskets they will charge you for the chips and salsa. We only had one. The chip could've been a little thinner. It's rude to find a raspberry margarita so I wanted to get one unfortunately they didn't have any frozen ones. They were just on the rocks. I was pretty shocked when I looked at the receipt and saw that it was $17 for a Margarita and it definitely wasn't worth that much. It had kind of a weird taste to it. We did get the cheese dip and it was very delicious. I decided to try the Mexican lasagna, which was so delicious. I got it with the beef and it was layers of ground beef, pico beans, and possibly some rice too. It was a good portion and I ended up bringing the other half home. My son ended up getting nachos with shrimp, chicken and steak and he really enjoyed it and finished his whole plate. I will definitely be back sooner than later because I love some good Mexican food, but I will probably end up getting just a soda next time. Fernando was our waiter and he was very attentive. I will say the restaurant in the bathrooms were clean. There's only one bathroom each for men and women. I would think it a restaurant this big they would have more stalls.

The odd thing I saw tonight was that the restaurant allowed or at least didn't say anything to the table next to us that brought in pizzas from Vecchia next door.
