If you're in the mood for some chicken, this is the place to go. I had the 1/2 chicken meal. It came with rice, tortillas, Mexican coleslaws and a spicy salsa. The chicken is absolutely delicious. Worth my 40 min bike ride. It was the skin was crispy, the meat had wonderful flavors to it. Very well seasoned. I should of bought 2 whole chickens. 1/2 won't be enough for 1. Paid 130 pesos for the meal with 2 sodas. Overall experience, very friendly and helpful staffs. Very affordable prices. Small little joint. Don't throw away the bones/left over meats because there are hungry, stray dogs wandering around and they will appreciate it. Also, if you're going to use the bathroom, they will charge you 10 pesos. This is a sign.

Been here 2x in my 5 days so far it's so good! You can smell the smoke in the air and it'll make you stop and see what it is really about. Food quality and prices can't be beat... I love Mexico

One whole chicken meal

Man was this the best decision ever! We ordered a whole chicken plus a grilled onion. That salsa was fire! Literally and figuratively. Chicken was seasoned well, moist, and love love loved the charr!! We ordered two drinks as well. Everything came out fast and it was super cheap!

Brick chicken - manna from heaven.

Sometimes simple food is the best food. Chefs can stumble all over themselves to create intricate masterpieces, but to get a real local flavor, sometimes it takes going back to basics. El Pollo Bronco is just that. This is simple brick chicken that's been spiced/marinated then grilled flat on, shall we say, a very well-seasoned grill. It's sold by the portion, chopped, and served with rice, tortillas and salsa. It's insanely delicious. There are a few side options (like grilled onions) but the chicken is the star here. You can get it to go and take it with you to the beach, or hang out at one of the plastic tables in this surprisingly clean little street-side eatery. If you have any affinity for grilled chicken, and want to eat like locals do, this is your spot. Note that the map marker may be off by a block. Having a hard time remembering just what corner it was on. Look for the orange storefront.

Get the chicken fresh out the oven. Yummmm. (Salsa and cabbage are bland)

This is equivalent to El Pollo Loco in the united states. Except not as good. I ventured here because it had good reviews. It was okay the first time around. They just pulled lukewarm chicken out of a cooler. The second time I walked by they were grilling the new chicken in the oven so I requested it fresh and it was MUCH better. Their "salsa" just tasted like a tomato slushy with no added flavor whatsoever. I would also pass on the bland cole slaw. I basically just ate chicken with the rice, since the chicken and tortilla was not as good without salsa. Its good to take on the go if you're going to the beach or a sitio archeologica!

As the slogan suggests - some of the best grilled chicken you will ever taste - under the sun. Now they can add any such claims to fame to their slogans - and I will buy it. Despite the fact that this New Englander despises the name Bronco - I confess I love El Pollo Bronco! Their menu is simple and hence very uncomplicated. You get some out of this world, heavenly tasty, grilled chicken - to go or to eat in. You can get the whole bird, 3/4th, half or 1/4. And along with the chicken, you get rice, salad, tortillas and salsa. And the rest is the pure joy of picking and digging into some amazing chicken. Squeeze in some lime juice. Sprinkle in some salt. Hold the bird any which way you want and chomp on. From experience - do follow this simple rule of thumb. Half a chicken is good for 2 people with a massive appetite. Because it's just not the chicken. It's also the delicious rice and the chopped salad and the soft tortillas. You can ask for something hot and they will get you some green hot habanero pepper purée. Be careful. It's REALLY hot. But I loved it. So far - all the places that we've tried in downtown Tulum - not one has disappointed. El Pollo Bronco is added to that list.

Awsome chicken :)

This is a typical Mexican restaurant with a small menu card. All chicken and sides. Grilled onions, baked cheese potatoes for example. Clean restaurant and a friendly staff. The grilled chicken itself has a nice flavor and comes with house made hot salsa, coleslaw, taco, rice and lime. Pricing is acceptable. For all chicken lovers it's worth a try.

This is where to go for the true Tulum experience. We ordered a 1/2 chicken and it came with plenty of fixings for 2 people. Loved the delicious simplicity of this place, and it's refreshingly cheap compared to most other places in Tulum.

Best Chicken i've ever had in my life.. im not joking.. the chicken is so juicy and tasty.. the place is easy to fine its along tulum ave. The 1/2 chicken can fees two people and it only cost 95mxn dollars.. rice, cabbage and tortilla and pico de gallo included.. the taste of the chicken is like heaven on earth, its charcoal grilled.. the service is good and fast.. bring cash though..

Whole chicken... comes with salsa, cole slaw, rice, and tortillas. Super cheap and delicious!

El Pollo Bronco is a must if you are staying in Tulum. It's not on the beach in the overpriced tourist section. Rather, it is right in the city center. It's a hole in the wall, no air conditioned building. The chicken is out of this world, and you get tortillas, rice, salsa, and coleslaw all for $8! (Yes, a whole chicken--which was too much for my husband and I). We tried another fire roasted chicken joint across the street, but it was more expensive and not nearly as good as Pollo Bronco. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

Chicken. Chicken. Chicken. Possibly the best I've ever had. Great street eats after walking the main drag of tulum.

Chicken, rice and tortillas were great along with the service. I was a little too afraid to try the coleslaw but it looked great.

We split a whole chicken and they gave us tortillas, salsa, rice and slaw to make our own little tacos.
