I ordered a quarter piece of chicken and it still came with all the fixings (rice, tortillas, cabbage, etc). He gave me a piece of dark meat which I'm not a fan of but it was still good. Wasn't a big fan of the rice, expected a little more flavor and different texture. Nothing you can't overlook for the price. I wish i was able to pack this place up and take it back home with me! Probably the best meal we had in Tulum. It was simple, cheap, tasty, and no frills. For two we got the whole chicken which came with side of slaw, rice, tortilla, and spicy salsa. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. Some of the skin was still a little crunchy. They keep the chicken in a cooler after cooking, which probably accounts for losing most of the crispness. We had no trouble finishing up a whole chicken. I believe it was about $140 mexican for the entire meal. That's less than $10 American folks. If you're in Tulum it would be a sad vacation if you missed out on El Pollo Bronco. read more

There is very little to this place and ambiance is whatever is going on in the street. Food is inexpensive as we paid 120 pesos for the 1/2 chicken. The dinner was plenty enough for 2 people for lunch. Food was good, served quickly and everything was fresh. The place is rustic as you have plastic chairs and tables, and the obligatory napkin dispenser on the table. If you are looking for some roasted chicken that is inexpensive and good. The chicken is perfect classic mexican BBQ chicken. Which is just about all they serve here. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the sides that come with the chicken are so so.
