A movie theater where you can get tickets for $3.50 AND snackies for less than $20?! WHAAAAT?! Count me IN!! I currently have a love/hate relationship with social media, but I'm so glad I came across a post showcasing this glorious theater located in Tempe! I was going to try it out by myself but the Crazy Cat Lady (if you follow me on the gram, you know who that is, lol) decided to come out from the boonies on a whim, so we went. We saw "Weapons" and it had us hooked to the end! No, the seats don't recline (they do lean back a little) or have swingy table tops for your snackies, but they have cup holders and they're not cloth seats, so for $3.50 (and $2.95 every Thursday) you really can't complain! The theater was clean and the nostalgic decor make for a very enJOYable experience. There's also an arcade in the front lobby to the left once you enter. My only little gripe is that the restrooms are on opposite ends, but that's a very minor setback. The concession stand has all the basics: popcorn, nachos, hot dogs, pretzels, candy and drinks. We got the combo deal for $11.95, which includes a medium drink, medium popcorn AND a hot dog (or pretzel). We ordered an additional small drink and the total came out to $15 and some change. I don't know about you, but I know a good deal when I see one and this here is pretty epic in today's economy! Of course the movies shown here are a few months old, but I love that because that means it's not crowded at all. I can't stand a packed theater. This would be a great place for a birthday party, team-building or just a simple no frills kinda date! There's a bunch of pic opps in here, too. Summer break in my youth was spent at the movie theater. I have a vivid memory of the ticket prices being raised from $3 to $3.50 and being so mad. Fast forward 30+ years and you can imagine my excitement to pay $3.50 for a movie ticket! With cheap seat theaters you make the assumption there's going to be holes in the screens, broken seats, shotty sound and sticky floors however, pollack had none of the above. I caught two flicks today and both theaters were perfectly acceptable. In today's economy any night out comes with the expectation of the price tag going into three digit territory quickly. Pollack takes you back in time both in value and entertainment. You can even stick around and play street fighter 2 in the lobby/arcade. Call me "The Terminator" because "I'll be back"! read more

The outside: beautiful, lit up, plenty of parking, food places all around, masterpiece. Inside: you walk in, there's photo ops everywhere. Life sized Batman, Superman, werewolf, presidents, you name it. Classic posters and art, it's so cool in there. Concessions: $6 for a large popcorn with free refills. $5 for large drinks that probably hold half a gallon. $3 candy. It doesn't get much better than that. You can get a combo of popcorn, hotdog, and a drink for $12 which is a steal at a theater. Theater: our theater (auditorium 1) was pretty big and the seats weren't recliners but were very padded. Spacing was great too, the screen was large, the sound was loud in a good way. We came to see a Spookorama showing of Return of the Living Dead and it was so fun. They did trivia and raffles at the front of the theater beforehand too. Thank you Terror Trader! We will be back for more movies! read more

This place is so fun! I love going to the movies and this affordable option makes it even more fun! So affordable you can get yummy snacks as well and still don't break the bank! They have nice comfortable chairs (I was expecting the old hard red ones but nope). Lots of seating, good screen and sound. A lot of interesting decor that's fun to stare at. Little video games to play before and after. Clean bathrooms and nice service. You might have to wait some time for some blockbuster movies to come out, but for prices these days, worth the wait. Me and my husband have been wanting to check out this theater for some time. It is definitely unique, from the many collectibles to video games in the front. Love the idea of being able to catch an "older" movie for $3.50. Snacks are decently priced too. I was able to get the Pollack combo for less than $12. It included a hot dog, drink and medium popcorn. The theater was kept clean. I wish the chairs reclined all the way back, but it was nice that they did have a little rock in them. Definitely a great option for the kiddos. read more

Still one of our favorite places! The staff are amazing and the manager always goes above and beyond for the patrons. The website issues from my last review seem to have been fixed but I still wish they had light up aisle markers since latecomers seem to think a cell phone flashlight in people's faces is acceptable (that part isn't the theaters fault). My only regret was not knowing about this movie theater sooner. I love this place! They play movies that are not in chain theaters. They play old movies here. Last week I watched Disney's "The Princess and the Frog" and I enjoyed my experience here. The concession stand was highly affordable and you get a bang for your buck here. The prices are super cheap and the atmosphere is so interactive that I was browsing around for 30 minutes after my movie done. I highly recommended coming here to beat the Arizona heat. I love this Theatre. It reminds me of the neighborhood theatres I went to in my youth. The interior is decorated with movie memorabilia and nostalgic games. Everyone I take there claim it's "so cool!" And best of all - the price is only $3.50 per person! So, for my family of 3, it's about $20 all-in. In this economy, it's awesome to be able to go out for a reasonable price point. The theatre is situated in a plaza with plenty of food selections: Italian, Mexican, Thai, Pub Food. I live on the far side of the valley, so the only time of year we make the trek out to Pollack is for Star Wars Day in May to catch the original trilogy on the big screen. We always have a great time and the value is unmatched. Is this the highest tech, fanciest theater in town? Of course not. But it's clean, has good quality seats and projection, and the food and staff are top notch. Definitely worth a visit if you're local. read more

I visited Pollack Cinemas for the first time ever today and will definitely become a regular, loyal moviegoer! Ticket prices and concessions were very reasonable! I really enjoyed the nostalgia of the way the theater was designed and the movie memorabilia! As a wheelchair user I found the accessible seats to be very accommodating. One suggestion for the wheelchair space is to place a drink holder and snack holder in the space for ease of use. read more

Amazing experience. I went in to see the movie "Origin" i was surprised at the cost, not sure if it was a Thursday deal or what. I walked in, was a little confused because I saw the kiosk, and the gent behind the counter informed me I could pay at the kiosk or that he could help me. I asked his suggestion on the best seat, since it did require I picked where I sat. He offered and informed me that once the movie started, I could move, so long as I wasn't in a reserved seat and moved if someone came. I really enjoyed the show. I don't go to the movies often and since the ticket price was as it was, I decided to have a treat, small buttered popcorn and a small icee, it seemed to be a way to contribute more than just the ticket sale. I am likely to visit again, especially if every visit is as enjoyable as this one. read more

Very cool Theater!! We missed seeing Encanto at the bigger chain theaters when it came out, but we still wanted the theater experience of seeing it. It was still playing here so we drove out to come check it out. Loved the movie so glad we came out here. Too top it all off this theater is great for a discount theater. Definitely a whole experience. So many cool things to see inside. Movie memorabilia, all kinds of life size movie figures and sets. Lots of collectors items, show cased posters and pictures of movie stars and movies. While we are exiting there was this cool pirate seen, and you know us and pirates and parrots. All life size. Worth the trip out here, they have put in new seats and it still has the feel of an older theater but updated. Discounted tickets. We will be coming back. read more

Been going here since I was a kid and it's still one of the best theaters in town! Wasn't expecting it to be better than most AMCs and Harkins in terms of visuals, but they've got fantastic projectors here. You can kinda hear the movie from the auditorium next to you if it's loud enough, but that's really my only complaint. Tickets are cheap, same with food and drinks. We're so lucky to still have a real discount cinema around, and especially one that gets so much love and attention put into it. read more

It's a fun theater that plays old movies for cheap prices, but their cheap prices attract the worst customers imaginable. It's genuinely like trying to watch a movie in a circus. Parents bring their children to let them run around and play, people will literally play YouTube videos on their phone at full volume, have conversations, scream at the top of their lungs, and often bring it autistic/mentally challenged people that aren't able to behave in the theater. Almost every single movie I've seen here has been ruined in some way or another by customers acting wild in the theater and employees basically do nothing about it. Literally this is the only theater I've been to that made me think I would enjoy the movie more at home. read more
