I have been coming to the Tempe Majestic 7 theater for years now, and I have had a great experience every time I have come here to see movies. The most recent movie I saw was Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and I had an absolute blast watching it. When the theater first opened, I remember being warmly greeted by the staff, and I also like that you can purchase tickets online in advance. Being able to purchase tickets online in advance makes things a lot easier, as you can avoid waiting until the last minute and missing out on the best seats in the theater. One thing I really like about the theater is that their food is great. While it is a bit pricey, I really enjoy their food and their popcorn. Some of my favorite popcorn flavors are parmesan and herb, as well as white cheddar. I also like the theater's atmosphere, as it is nice and cool inside, which is perfect when you are looking to escape the intense summer heat. If anyone in Tempe is looking for a great movie theater with great popcorn, I highly recommend Tempe Majestic 7. read more

We came here to see Wicked for Good and it was a good experience! The staff was very sweet and attentive, the venue was clean and well kept, and the atmosphere was overall very nice. Only downside is the prices - the food is good but overpriced (but not more than the standard movie theater upcharge!). If you're okay with a splurge and want a movie date night, this is a good place to go! Highly recommend getting a recliner if you choose to come catch a movie here, they make the whole experience a lot better! read more

Chose this theater based on the showtimes available for 'The Final Destination: Bloodlines' movie. Upon parking I immediately noticed how small this theater is and once inside how intimate the vibe was because of that. Service was quick. Seat selection available. Seats recline and are comfortable. I came in on to see Wicked For Good and bought my ticket online in advance. There's a small lobby and check in when you walk in and a bar to the right. I went to my seat and used the QR code to order popcorn and a water. They don't have Apple Pay so you have to enter your credit card in the dark which is hard. The popcorn bowl is HUGE. I sat in the fourth row so I could get a reclining chair and it was comfortable. The sound and visual qualities for the movie were great. read more

I really don't know why this theater keeps letting babies into PG-13 movies. Sitting in opening night for a massive release right now (2nd time) and there are several kids in here, one making noise non-stop. Staff members walk right by like everything is fine. Please add 1 more star to this review if you are not planning to order any food or beverages during your visit. Unfortunately, the problem with my experience was about the food. I'm tech savvy and know where to get the menu and placed the order without issues, even caught on that I have to order water as an item. I arrived 30 minutes early hoping that I can order everything well before the movie starts. Not only it didn't happen, I waited 25 minutes for my water, and another 20 minutes for food after the movie started. In addition, my food came without the key ingredient of the dish - the pork. I hated that In the middle of the movie, I had to pull up my phone to ping our server. Another 10 minutes has gone by, no server in sight, got a hold of the runner who was dropping off my in-law's food, and then I had to whisper what the issue was. Missed 5 minutes of the movie. I finally got the proper dish with everything in it...20 minutes later. Another 20 minutes after, another food runner showed up with the same dish, another disruption of the movie. SMH. I appreciate the effort, and the meal was comped (need to clarify on their recovery), but sighhhh, I just knew that this would have been a way better experience without the F&B hiccups. read more

I was confused why this place had so many lackluster reviews and then I read them and realized they are all very personal issues way overblown. Were you guys mean to the wait staff or something? They are based here. Better than Almo Draft. I've been a few times and each time is a joy, wow! Cool posters on the wall. Great sound and picture. I'm even buying tickets for others just for the loyalty program. I've had a few hiccups like a popcorn refill issue and my tickets not showing up on the app but these are all very solvable... Popcorn is great, air is nice, temp is not too cold and there's many good deals. Tuesday and Wednesday has discounts. I was impressed by how CLEAN the floors and bathroom were! Any question I was answered by a super and when I had a issue with my tickets I just called the venue direct and spoke with the manager. Easy. I'm glad they show classics, foreign and anime here as well... I really want to order in the dining room at some point and make a date night of it! Literally my only issue was how OFTEN the wait staff came in to check on everybody, they were serving food and refills until 20 minutes left for the movie. Pretty much on the ball at all times, plus you have the concessions app you can order from at any point so you don't have to wait for them to come to ask what you need. One of my all-time favorite theaters to catch a movie! I was definitely a little nervous when they switched over from Alamo Drafthouse, but thankfully, most of what made this place great has stayed the same. That said... I do miss the special feature menus, and we definitely need #justiceforthechickenwings--bring them back, please! But overall, this is still my go-to movie spot. The loaded fries are nothing short of legendary. I've literally searched the internet trying to find a copycat recipe (it's the cook--and the foodie--in me). The breakfast tacos also slap, and honestly, just about everything on the menu hits. Major bonus points for their loyalty rewards program--you get a free ticket on your birthday every year, which is such a nice perk. If you haven't seen a movie here yet, make the trip. Everything about the establishment is great EXCEPT they are completely complacent to bad theatre etiquette. This franchise replaced the Alamo Drafthouse and patron etiquette has been subpar ever since. Alamo had a very easy and firm system that ensured patrons were getting the value of their ticket. Each trip to a dine in theatre is around $50 for me and my friends each. I expect to not have my movie interrupted by shitty guests who cannot follow theatre etiquette at all. I just saw The Backrooms with a friend and had a woman next to us who kept giving commentary after everything that happened in the movie. Then at one point turned on her phone flashlight at full brightness to seemingly look for something but kept it on for nearly 3 full minutes and kept shining directly in our faces. Turned toward her to gesture that it was disruptive and she just stared at us. I went mid movie to the front desk yo file a complaint about it and they said because their menu is a QR code on the table top that they can't do anything about the excessive flashlight use. And that for the talking they would let a manager know. Then offered us to move seats mid movie. What a horrible response to a situation where they should've had an employee ask her to stop talking or be ejected from the theatre. Alamo had the perfect system, physical menus and paper cards for ordering food. A very clear and strict PSA before the feature explaining the expectations and etiquette rules and a discrete and non-disruptive system for complaining about noisy patrons on the paper cards. This is why people do not go to the theaters anymore. I would've enjoyed the movie more if I didn't have some inconsiderate fuck in my ear the whole time during a very quiet and atmospheric horror movie, breaking the immersion. I love going to the movies and for midnight showings or re-releases of cult classics, I absolute let expect and welcome some chatter and disruptive reactions. But this is not the first time this has happened at this theatre and I frankly would've been better off streaming this movie at home if I wanted to enjoy it. Please for the love of god, do better so that you can continue to make movie theaters an enjoyable destination for patrons. read more

I love going to the movies. This neighborhood movie theate is conveniently located in Tempe with easy access from Baseline. The staff is friendly and the seating is comfortable. I prefer to sit in the recliner seats that are closer to the screen. I tried the chocolate chip cookie skillet and it was ok. It didn't really have any flavor. Our regular visits to Majestic Theatre Neighborhood Cinema Grill are thoroughly enjoyable. With time, since their takeover startup, the food was great but now it is even better. As my previous review noted, the seating is comfortable the atmosphere is quiet and sedate, perfect for movie watching, neat and attractive, and clean - more like a subtle theatre than the loud and sometimes obnoxious big screen chain-like cinemas, it has such a more intimate and comforting feel. The food has become fabulous. Our beverages to start were a great offering of Prosecco and I had the great Huss Scottsdale Blonde! We had the opportunity to experience their Ma He's Eating My Pepperoni Again... really just Pepperoni and cheese... - a really, really good personal pizza rendition that was good, tasty and very, very well done. We also had an order of the Majestic Skins - these potato skins were not only unique, but tasty and robust! And my Monster Melt, Wow! A well put together combo of a beef patty, sourdough bread, some nice, perfectly caramelized onions, old fashioned swiss, the right amount of cayenne aioli along with some really, really good french fries. Overall, our experience at the Cinema and Grill was super enjoyable - great movie, great service, great comfort with enjoyable eats to boot - and great food! Always loved Marvel. Been talking about Spider-Man for a week before its release making sure I was caught up on every movie prior. Danielle I hope you're reading this you raging b***h. You stood straight directly in front of me multiple times talking loud enough that people 6 rows in front could hear and were turning around. To put the cherry on top, you timed it on some of the most important scenes and doubled down by asking out loud, "ArE yOu SuRe?!" Over and over again. It was clear that you were purposely doing it over and over again. So in conclusion, I really hope your pillow never cools down, I hope that you are cursed with stepping on a Lego every day for the rest of your life, and I hope your toilet paper rips every time you wipe. It is a locally owned and operated movie theater in Tempe, AZ, featuring your favorite movies and a full-service dining experience. Their menu includes appetizers, pizza, alcoholic drinks, and more. Overall, the experience was just okay, but they do have the great deal of $5 movies on Tuesdays which is a redeeming point for them. We skipped the bar as it was a bit pricey for drinks, but ordered popcorn to our seat. It comes in a large metal bowl which is different than the usual theaters, but it made it easy to share between two people. There's nothing flashy about this place and the seats are pretty worn down, so I would make sure to wear long pants and a jacket or have something to sit on as the upholstery on the chairs are cracked. read more

We decided to watch The Creator at this theatre and I'm glad we did. We stopped by for a Saturday night showing and bought tickets for three. Our showing was the last one of the night so it was pretty late already. (9:45pm) The lobby wasn't busy and only one couple walked in after us. The employee manning the ticket counter was friendly and patient. He let us know about their discounts and we showed him our credentials. Our tickets came out to be about $8.50 each which is so unheard of these days with the discount. We made our way to towards the theatres but we were a little lost. A worker must've seen our confused faces because she quickly ran over to us and pointed us to the correct theatre. We made it on in and we sat down. We took a look over the menu and decided on what we wanted. One unsweetened iced tea One Dr. Pepper One southwest chicken quesadilla One margarita pizza One order of chicken tenders with fries One boxed popcorn The server was very friendly and the food came out one by one. We got one refill and they checked up on us several times. The chicken quesadilla was delicious! It was very flavorful and had a nice crisp to it. The tenders were small but the plate was loaded with fries. The pizza was pretty big and definitely enough for two. Popcorn was goooood. Total for food and tip was about $95. I went to the movies for date night at Majestic. I had never gone to this theatre, so I was glad it was close to my area and generally located where we could have dinner as well. Because I had never been there, I was able to sign up for the loyalty program and received a free bowl of popcorn voucher. I ordered 4 club sodas and the bowl of popcorn and my total was $0.00. To my amazement, when I left, I had a $14 charge on my card. I assumed it was a "hold" they placed on card until the end of the film. But here I sit nearly a week later and the $14 charge is still on my account. I attempted to contact management to gain more information about the charge and have not been contacted. The facility itself is clean and the servers were nice and swift. But, I think I would rather go to another theatre, simply based on the fact I can purchase my snacks in one purchase and not have a hold placed on my card. read more

This is my current favorite movie theatre (almost of all time - sorry whatever theatre I saw Pokemon The Movie with my dad when I was a kid forever holds the crown unless you play it and he comes again lol). But seriously this place is the coolest. Came here for a few special engagement nights or reruns of older flicks (Shaun of The Dead, The Shining, The Thing, soon to the the Ghibli festival) and they're always such fun themed evenings. And we've seen a bunch of new movies here too (Nosferatu, Alien:Romulus, 28 Years Later, etc.). This place makes it feel fun and exciting to go to the movies again and not just stay at home and watch on tv. The sound is always good, sometimes a bit too loud (Deadpool & Wolverine was deafening) but the picture quality is always solid. Seats are comfortable, the staff is really nice and helpful, and the environment is always great. It may seem weird, but it feels safe - there's never any loud or "strange" people in here - like there's no guy next to me wearing a hoodie in the summer talking and yelling to himself and reaching under his clothes the entire movie (lookin at you other Tempe establishments). The food is killer too. I am an absolute slut for a good chicken tender basket and a milkshake so this is always my number one option when something new comes out that I want to see. read more

I was expecting the usual plain popcorn, but instead I tried the spicy cheddar popcorn with jalapeños--wow, that completely blew my mind. The Majestic always makes for a super fun date night, and I especially love when they have $5 Tuesday showings! Although their food in my experience has been just okay, their popcorn, especially their churro seasoned one, is so delicious! They used to have wait staff come around to your seat to take your order before the movie began showing so you had to get there early, but they recently switched to a QR code ordering system so you can order before or during your movie and your food/drinks get brought straight to your seat which I think is a huge improvement. read more

Their selection of movies is by far the best thing about this theater. They have a lot of great screenings that are more unique than anything Harkins or AMC does, but it means putting up with the miserable experience of going here. Food is expensive without being anything to write home about, and you need to use your phone to order. Fine before the movie starts, but the number one rule when you go to the theater is turn your phone off! Want to eat at the dine in theater? Stop paying attention to your movie and distract everyone else by pulling out your phone. 35mm screenings are the only reason I come here, but it's a real hit or miss thing here. Most of their prints have been in abhorrent condition, despite the oldest I've seen being only 10 years old. Scratches from start to finish that covered a lot of the image, and a projectionist that can't center the image on screen. It's really unfortunate they're the only place in town still showing 35mm film. Harkins needs to install one at Valley Art with a projectionist who knows what they're doing to show Majestic some competition. I'd really only visit if you really want to see a certain movie on 35mm and they're playing it here. read more

We usually go to the one in Chandler but tried this one based on movie time. The staff were really kind and courteous, but service was exceptionally slow. My entree didn't come out for almost an hour (and it was only a grilled cheese and fries) and my husbands had received his right away so it was a bit weird as my husband didn't want to eat without me but we also didn't want his to get cold. When it did come out they were apologetic and it was really tasty. Popcorn was delicious. The theatre was clean. Dune 2 was amazing on screen. The dine-in theatres can be pricy but for an all in date night it's fun and accommodating. read more

Had a great experience at the Majestic Tempe location! The food was hot and tasty and the milkshake was also good. The chairs were plush and comfortable, with smooth, clean, and intact upholstery. The chairs actually might swallow you if you're small. They're huge and very soft. However, they did not seem to recline--that is, they looked and felt like recliners, but a metal railing behind us seemed to prevent them from doing so. Or maybe I just couldn't figure out how to make it work. The setup that you see when selecting your seats is indeed the setup you get. For two people, this works quite well. You can sit next to each other and share a table without worrying that someone stranger on your other side is going to spill their soda. It also means that even if the people around you are on their phones, you can't really tell since you aren't right next to them. (Not counting whoever you might've come with.) It would probably be inconvenient if you came as, say, a group of three. One of you would be in another galaxy. Even numbers are probably best. It is, of course, dark in the movie theatre, which does make it somewhat difficult to eat. But there are lights on the undersides of the tables that can assist, and they aren't bright enough to detract from the movie. Unfortunately, the website you use to order didn't have any "instant" payment methods (that I saw) such as PayPal or Apple Pay, so I had to enter my credit card information in the dark, which is not ideal, but hey, sometimes you've got to make sacrifices to try new things. Would've been nice to have instant checkout options, though. The good thing is that you can keep an open tab until you're done. Being served food and drink didn't disrupt the movie for me. That was fast and generally quiet. The disrupting part was trying to order, set up payment, and then actually trying to eat messy food in the dark. It is not the same as eating a tidy box of candy. Also, be sure to arrive EARLY, especially if it's your first time, so that you aren't still trying to figure out how to order while your movie is starting. Overall, it was a fun experience. The food and drinks were good and it was kind of nice being on our own little island and not crammed right next to everyone in the comparatively tiny standard movie seats. However, the food and drink itself--and the process of ordering it--was a bit distracting. If you've ever thought that standard popcorn and candy offerings are kind of boring and want to eat actual food and drink something besides bottled soda, then I recommend trying it. It's definitely a new experience compared to your standard movie theatre. read more

We place are order and the young girl says I'm sending you a text and you order there. So I get the text and I say so I just text this phone number. Yes! First off there is no more refills for sodas unless you pay $5.50 for another refill or $10 for popcorn and no refills. Truffle popcorn was really salty so I am sure to sell more sodas. read more

Visited Majestic Tempe 7 for the first time a few weeks ago to watch the Barbie movie! The theatre entrance is definitely smaller than many of the other theatres I have been to in the valley, but I am sure that is because they do not offer standard counter service and instead offer theatre/seat service, from the popcorn to the beverages! Though they do sport a bar. Overall, definitely enjoyed the experience! The lounge seats are comfortable and lay back, they have a menu with various offerings, from traditional movie snacks, such as popcorn to more hearty meals such as mozzarella sticks or chicken fingers. I did not get any beverages, but they did have a nice line up of cocktails, wine and beer. They stop by before the movie, so I suggest arriving early and you can order directly from your seat. We did have ticket coupons, and they currently do not offer any way to use said coupons online, so that makes it a bit difficult to purchase tickets and does involve planning ahead to stop by and get tickets in advance, especially for a popular film. read more

I recently moved back to Phoenix and live 5 minutes away so tonight when I was feeling sad, I thought I'd stop in and see something just to distract myself. I have always wanted to go to the Rocky horror picture show experience. I went for my birthday and it was very exciting to go. I was not expecting it to be run like 7th graders heckling the movie screaming profanity every 30 seconds and sl*t shaming characters. Most of the actors were good even the ones who's costumes were clearly not meant for them, and with missing props.. but whoever directs the experience has turned it into a Jr high heckling experience. There was 38+ people like me who had never gone before and no instructions on the $ prop bags. The constant potty humor and unisom profanity just for the cheap shock value of profanity, was both lazy and annoying. They ruined a great film and heckled away the experience. Yelling "asshole" at Brad stopped being funny about 100 times before the end. And why is the cast nearly all female? Even Rocky. I get the feeling actor turn over is extremely high? The venue was great, the movie a loved classic, most the main actors exceptional. But the heckling lines were too lazy and frequent and it seems they aren't investing back into their own act.I do want to give the actors playing frank furter and Columbia props they nailed the manurisms and gestures. The young woman playing Brad was good too. Food and drinks were great, seats super comfortable, theater staff fantastic. But I can only hear "a$$hole, s1ut, and cu m so many dozens of times in a row without feeling like I'm in the back row of a 7th grade school bus. read more

I'm so disappointed. This place has gone down the drain. I used to love this theatre and took so many friends here. My favorites were the curated events, particularly Cinematery. I would come as many Tuesdays as I could (an hour drive for me by the way!! That's how much I loved it!) to either watch a beloved movie I always dreamed of seeing on the big screen or finding a new niche favorite. After learning they terminated the hosts, I was baffled! Those Tuesday night showings were always jam packed and filled with kindhearted, generous horror fans. Every other theatre was empty while these would almost always sell out. I couldn't wrap my head around this decision! Kicking them out and stealing the name is insane. They marketed it as the same experience, but it became cold and lifeless. Don't even get me started on the new ordering system!! A QR menu??? In a dark theatre that's supposed to be a no-phone zone??? Clearly they just wanted to fire more people, do less work, and make more money. These recent changes show me that the owner is a greedy, slimy, scumbag of a human and does not care about patrons OR cinema, just their bank account. And so passive aggressive in the negative reviews for what? I hope karma gets its kiss!! PS the Cinematery hosts now do showings at Roadhouse Scottsdale and Academy Theatre. Roadhouse has better food too and actually cares about the moviegoing experience. Go there instead. Majestic is not worth your time or money. I am ashamed. read more

GREAT THEATER! I hadn't been here since it was renamed as Majestic. My mom wanted to come since they have a Wednesday deal including bottomless popcorn, cheese pizza, candy, bottomless soda, icees, and drag beer for $3 each! I ended up getting a margarita, and it was super strong! I still felt the affects of the alcohol after going home. I was definitely impressed. There was great customer service on my visit today. I come to this location because of the convenience tbh. Every single time I come here I'm reminded of why I don't like to come here. We ordered $80 worth of food. No big deal. The issue is the drinks come after the food. The refills never showed up and no one ever checked on us or asked if we needed anything. The food came out hot and it was great. No complaints there but who wants to eat food with no drink. The seat I had was old because it had a dent and it was very uncomfortable. The place isn't bad. I've been going to this movie theater, even before the name change. One thing I really appreciate about Majestic, both of their locations are kept cleaner than other theaters. Majestic has some of the best popcorn because they actually use REAL butter. The customer service has always been great and with a smile. I hope they continue on with success, so I can continue enjoying going out to the movies. read more
