I recently moved to Canton. I have a pretty high energy 7-month old husky named Otis and he LOVES…read moregoing to Paws in Play. He always comes back tired. I had a dog walker come 2-3 times a day before I found out about paws in play and he was never wiped out. Now he's exhausted every day he goes there. The staff has been so nice to me and Otis. They always say how much they enjoy his company and it seems genuine. I love my dog and leaving him with Paws In Play when I'm at work makes me feel at ease.

Imagine you have a 3yr old. Your searching for daycares he/she can attend. After extensive on-line…read moreresearch and reading reviews, you settle on a place Paws in Play. You make the appt for the live interview, to see if your 3yr old dog is a good fit for the daycare and if the daycare is good fit for your 3yr old dog. You walk in and everything looks ok. Your stopped at the front desk. The play area where your 3yr old will spend all of his days cannot be seen. After all your questions are answered and your feeling comfortable leaving your 3yr old at the daycare, you ask what you think would be a common question. When can I set up a time to view the area where my 3yr old will be for the next 8hrs, 3x per day? The area I'm paying for? You're then directed to go online and look at Facebook pics of the area.... I did that, but seeing the Statue of Liberty on a Facebook post is not quite the same as seeing her in person. And personally I'm just not comfortable leaving my 3yr old in a place that will not allow anyone EVER to see the space they are paying for. Suspect. Paws in Play has a policy that no owner can view the play area, EVER. Not off-peak time, not at closing, not before opening, not even Holidays. All of which I offered as possible viewing times. Suspect. Why you ask? They say to protect the dogs. Ok. Why do the dogs need protection from Humans? Paws in Play interview their dogs. I assume the dogs they accept are socialized to interact with not only each other but other humans? I wouldn't take my dog to a dog park if I knew he bit other dogs or humans. Ok policy is policy. I asked the owner if he would be willing to call me at a time where there are NO dogs at the daycare for me to view the space. And he still refused. Referred me to Facebook. Suspect. This policy and the owners refusal to accommodate what I believe is a reasonable request, while still honoring the spirit of the policy got me way too suspicious about what was back there in the play area where my dog would be. The possible condition of the area. I couldn't in good conscious leave my 3yr old at Area 51. Suspect. I would caution anyone who is thinking about Paws in Play. Anyone considering this daycare for their loved one would have to answer the question. How could you trust a daycare that forbids you to EVER see the space in person that 1. You are paying for. 2. That your leaving your loved one for days and hours. Are we putting our loved ones in Fort Knox? What is so bad back there that you don't want anyone to see? Suspect. As a business owner myself, I shared with the owner that I had called 6 other daycares just to see if this policy was common in that line of business. What I found? All 6 understood not letting the public in the area when there are a "ton" of dogs. But to not EVER be able to tour the facility? Even after hours "sounded weird". The owner harshly replied "I don't care what other people think" And from that reply it also appears that Paws in Play struggles with professionalism as well. Suspect. Sorry, I just don't trust Paws in Play. My dog is my child. I could never leave him in a space that the owner is adamant with me NEVER seeing.. Suspect.

I chose this PetSmart location after reading several reviews by other customers. This location is a clean and safe environment, with experienced staff and expertise, gentle handling of your pet, and good communication via text to let you know when your pet is ready for pick up. We also appreciate the groomer's knowledge of our pet's health and his arthritis with the ability to handle our dog's breed, and PetSmart offers customizable grooming services. The fees are competitive and you can join the PetSmart Loyalty program, and online notices for special promotions, new product announcements, gift ideas during the holiday, Halloween costume ideas, and much more! CJ enjoys going and he is not intimidated to be dropped off at this PetSmart location. CJ comes home looking good and smelling nicely with the full haircut, trim, shampoo, nails cut and beveled, and with the Spring furminator package. We highly recommend Brittany at the PetSmart in East Walpole. Brittany is outstanding!

I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about when they complain about customer service…read moreat the Walpole PetSmart. Maybe they were talking about literally everyone except the young woman who helped us in the fish department last weekend. We walked in like we were going to be fish experts--grab some guppies, toss them in a cart, and strut out like proud new aquarium parents. Turns out, we knew approximately nothing about fish. Or snails, or shrimp--basically nothing about anything that goes in a tank besides water. Enter Fish Girl™ (young, dark hair, nose ring, probably graduated top of her class at Fish School University). She patiently answered our one million questions like a saint who somehow knew everything about aquatic life. Every answer blew my mind. Did you know snails have way more drama in their lives than you think? Neither did I--until she explained it. She wasn't just knowledgeable--she was kind, patient, and never made us feel like the clueless guppy parents we clearly were. I rarely leave reviews unless I'm either really impressed or really annoyed. This time, impressed won big time. And I must add - even at the register, the good vibes continued. The cashier was one of those happy dudes who just radiates joy, and honestly, his mood followed us out the door. We left with our fish supplies and a smile. I even decided to return my cart all the way back INTO the store because of my experience and the guy smiled, "Thanks!" You got it, man. So yeah--managers of PetSmart Walpole: please give Fish Girl with the nose ring a raise. She deserves it. Our new fish and snails would 100% agree.

As a former employee I have a lot to say about Debby's Pet Land. Rather than bore you with a long…read morerant I will keep it short and to the point. While most of the employees truly want to do what's best for the animals they are restricted by the corporation that runs them. Debby's Pet Land, as a corporation, has little regard for the animals. They have no concern for who the animals go home with or what kind of homes they will be given. The employees will be fired if they don't meet a weekly quota of how many puppies they sell and they get commission and bonus' on the ones they do sell so they will tell you ANYTHING to sell you a puppy. The corporation cuts corners on sanitation, medication, vaccinations, beddings and supplies to save money. I have seen unclean cages, missed vaccinations and missed doses of medications, which cause set beacks and relapses in even minor illnesses, all due to laziness on the employees part. Ask them about their "back room" or "ISO rooms" which most often they will deny having. It is where all the sick puppies are kept. A Vet comes once a week to look at the puppies but seems extremely short and rushed with the puppies. Also most of the illnesses are called in to the vet based on what the employee tells them and a medication is prescribed until the following visit. Again...most of the employees are really concerned and do the best with what they have to care for the animals. However, they will ALL tell you that their puppies are from "USDA Certified Breeders". Well...that's if you consider a person who breeds numerous kinds of dogs in mass quantities a breeder. I also happen to know for a fact based upon my own experience and investigations that a very large percent of the puppies come from puppy mills. I also know for a fact the USDA and other agencies sworn to protect the animals are extremely under staffed and unable to investigate every problem. In some cases they never even visit the places they certify. There are also numerous cases of fraudulant registration papers mostly through AKC, non-existing breeders and wrong papers going home with the puppy. Bottom line...they only care about money. Not the animals. First…read moreimpression when I walked in was this supply store has an eclectic old-time country store emporium vibe. Oodles of cool stuff some funky some standard but it was Maggie's magnanimous personality that hooked me. She noticed my Stevie Ray T shirt and that sparked the talk. A radio DJ in a past life living in the Pioneer Valley of western MA and me having spent a little time out there and we both being music fans, we hit it off. She now lives on a 10acre farm in Rehoboth with 100 + chickens! No wonder she is an expert on chickens, birds and wildlife! How I got there- I picked up meds at Holmes Vets and was drawn to Chickadees maybe it was the big rooster out front or maybe just a cosmic pull, but I was a glad to make a new friend, learn and buy something that hopefully solves an annoying problem. It's one that most back yard bird lovers have to deal with, chipmunks! It's not that I mind feeding my 6 squirrel children, I just don't want them stealing ALL the bird food., Maggie recommended a type of bird seed that has hot pepper on it! Mammals with wet palates, like us and squirrels don't like it so hot! Birds have dry palates and can't taste it so they don't mind it. Will put it out there tomorrow morning and see for myself. Will advise! Boz Skaggs !
