I'm proud to say Woofie and I are now clients of On the Run…read more When I scored a new gig and knew I'd be away from home longer than before on a given workday, I emailed On the Run. Woofie was already known in the neighborhood as kind of a terror, so I half expected them to politely decline my request to walk my four-legged bark monster. Instead, Pat responded thoughtfully to my email and agreed to meet up with us and take Woofie on for a trial period. We both agreed their dog playgroups could be great for socializing him, given/despite his moderately aggressive history. So far, so good! My dog behaves well and loves the socialization and exercise he's been getting with their service. How it works is simple: they come to my apartment, pack Woofie into a car with a few other dogs, bring him to an off-leash park for an hour, and return him, exercised and happy, to my door! I leave a check out once a week, and we're done! I come home from work and find a pooped pooch passed out on the couch. Aside from making the process of scheduling and executing dog walks super easy, Pat and Yaron are flexible, communicative, and kind. They bring their tennis balls, their squeak toys, rope toys, water jugs/bowls, and enough dogs that everyone has someone to play with. OBH is totally full service, picking up the dogs, and dropping them home-while also taking them for 4-5 hours daily on adventures. Our dog jumps off the bed each morning as soon as he hears the van in the driveway. Their service is affordable, even more affordable than most dog walking services that are for 30-60 minutes. You cannot get better bang for your buck. There is a yearbook every Christmas, which is so cute and funny. When I required a trainer to help my dog's on-leash walking, I selected Argos due to the number of…read morehigh star reviews. To share perspective on why I believe this number is so high - at the last session, Martin has you scan a QR code and asks you to write a review on the spot while he is present. This guarantees five stars. He also on the spot wanted me to provide a positive recommendation for him for a certification program he is currently in which I did not feel comfortable doing. The positive: Martin made a very good recommendation on a leash that helped my dog's walking (gentle leader). The overall experience however wasn't up to par or the reviews I read. Martin is a seller. In the initial consult he takes his time (hour +) and he sells you on his services. Once you have signed a contract and have paid this begins to wear off. What was initially a two week board and train for 4k became a three week board and train for 5k on the day I arrived to drop my dog off, before he had any sessions. The results delivered with my dog, outside of a better leash recommendation that assisted walking, do not add up to the cost. Other points to note if it bothers you - this is a high traction cigarette home. Martin always smelled of cigarettes. I once arrived in the pouring rain and he had me wait outside while he smoked his cigarette. When I took my dog home it looked like his ear had been tapped by a cigarette. Martin likes to talk over you if you are a female. When I asked questions he told me to work with him I had to wait for him to talk. I also noticed him frequently cut his wife off and talk over her which I found disrespectful as she usually had helpful things to say. Martin asks you to send videos to provide feedback on techniques, however I don't think he watched them as feedback was not provided on the videos I shared. He sends you videos but they are not particularly helpful and usually the audio is cut out. There is a Circles program you need to join for training. Without notification they will charge you on subscription three months after training without email notification. In short from my experience the recommendation I can provide is do not fall into Martin's sales pitch without comparing other trainer's techniques and prices, do not allow him to upsell you for his profit, double check you aren't being auto billed, and double check your dog hasn't had any injury from cigarettes made to them. If you do proceed with his service my additional recommendation is to not write a review on the spot and to take time to write one on your own to share your experience with others. I am happy to share my experience with anyone in the Yelp community; I have been advising others away who have asked me for training recommendations.

I made a boarding reservation for my dog and paid a 50% deposit on June 10. When I needed to adjust the boarding dates, I contacted Pawmenities a week before the scheduled service multiple times by email, text message, and phone, but I received no response for several days. The automatic phone system was especially frustrating because it directed me to communicate by text message, but my text messages also went unanswered. The lack of communication was extremely concerning, especially since this was my first time using their service and I needed to feel confident about where my dog would be staying. Because I could not get any answers, I drove to the Lynnfield location expecting to visit the facility. I was surprised to find that it was only a pickup/drop-off location and not the actual boarding facility. I requested a tour of the boarding location, but my request was never addressed. Two days before the scheduled boarding, after several days of trying to reach them, I finally received a text saying they could accommodate my dog on the requested new dates. However, my concerns were never acknowledged. There was no explanation for the lack of communication, no apology, and no follow-up regarding my request to visit the facility. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable leaving my dog in their care. I canceled the reservation and requested a refund of my deposit, but I never received any follow-up communication or reimbursement. A boarding service requires trust, communication, and confidence, especially when it involves the care of a pet. Unfortunately, my experience before the service even began did not provide the level of communication and reassurance I needed.
