If you want some quick, this is the place. The food is good, but not great. Service is fast and the people are nice.

I have an important public announcement. Bo's Seafood in Donaldsonville is offering subpar…read moreseafood, and I strongly advise against spending your money at this establishment. My family bought a sack of crawfish from them yesterday, and unfortunately, the entire sack was spoiled, with the crawfish being dead. I contacted the owner, who dismissed my concerns, stating that it was not his issue that he was selling poor quality food to the community in Donaldsonville. When I presented him with the evidence of the dead crawfish and explained the situation, he confessed that he had been selling 90 lbs of dead crawfish that he had been boiling and offering to the community. Upon visiting this establishment this morning to seek a resolution, he informed me that he did not need our business and expressed indifference towards the community, indicating that as long as people continued to buy his products, he would persist in selling them to the public. I, however, care deeply about my community and its residents. Therefore, I am issuing a warning to everyone who will listen to exercise extreme caution. This situation could have resulted in a tragedy. My children could have fallen ill had I not noticed this issue. Essentially, this individual and his business pose a risk of making someone, or their children, sick. I urge you to avoid Bo's Seafood! He sold me a $125 sack of dead crawfish and showed no concern for the impact it had on my family, nor did he rectify the situation.

It's located in a small, rundown looking building off Highway 1; if it wasn't for GPS, you'd easily miss it. The interior is beautiful though. Smells amazing (not sure if that was the candles for sale or the food). Very classy feel to it as soon as you walk in though. I decided to order the almond encrusted duck (appetizer) to go per a yelpers mouth-watering pic of it, and I'm so glad I did! It was scrumptious! The wait once I ordered was almost 30 minutes, so I definitely advise to call and order ahead. 10 people seating and 1 to go order that came before me. I was surprised to see a customer bring his pup in, but I guess I should have known based on all the pup pics on the walls here! Just wish it was closer to BR as I don't come this way very often!

The exterior of the building does not match the interior, BUT hey, I like surprises now. The Cajun food served here was pretty good. Give this local joint a chance and you won't be disappointed! #tonylameats337 #napoleonville #napoleonvillela #stellakitchen #cajunfood

The restaurant has been a number of businesses in the past, but Tams has been successful. I understand why...The food is good! The restaurant is not fancy, but has a large open space dining room with simple seat yourself table seating. The menu is vast and posted by number on wall with many combinations featuring mostly seafood ie. Popcorn shrimp and fish specials, plate dinners with large shrimp, catfish fillets, local South Louisiana favorites like poor boys, red beans and rice and gumbo, plus Chinese food options. The proprietor was friendly and patient. I ordered the daily special of popcorn shrimp and popcorn fish with fried rice and comes with a 12 oz can soft drink ($7.49). My coworker ordered 2 catfish fillets entree and fried rice with a salad and slice of bread($9.49). We were both pleased! If you are looking for freshly cooked seafood at a reasonable price. Tams is the place to go!

We got seated and the server informed us they had no boiled crawfish. I should have taken this as a sign to get up and leave... Between the three of us at the table, we ordered fried oysters, fried alligator bites, fried shrimp and a fried crawfish po-boy along with some fries and onion rings. I took one bite of the alligator bite appetizer and literally said, "that doesn't taste anything like alligator". To make matters worse, my onion rings tasted just like the alligator. How does an onion ring taste like alligator? When I was served my crawfish po-boy, the crawfish had zero seasoning and were the smallest I had ever seen. My meal was very disappointing. My Mom ordered the shrimp plate and found her meal equally bland and remarked, "the slice of toast and the side salad were the best parts". My stepfather ordered, a fried oyster plate in which the oysters were almost non-existent - his meal with all batter & breading. As part of his meal, my stepfather was able to get a side item from the salad bar in which he got "cold slaw". The slaw was unlike anything I had ever seen (or tasted). It was awful. We ate our food, paid our bill, and left. Once in the parking lot, we all agreed that we will never go back and that a zero-star review is warranted. We expected good Cajun food and only got disappointed.

I never leave reviews but it was enough for me to share. We love seasoning and spicy food, but the fried fish and oysters were overly salty and the oysters had a bad after taste like they were possibly going bad. I got the Shrimp Platter and was excited about the seafood augratin but when it came out I asked where the augratin was and the waitress pointed to a tiny plastic condiment container and said that was it (literally 2 spoonfuls). It was okay, but nothing I'd order again. It certainly didn't hold a candle to Don's Seafood. There was only one waitress that we saw working and she said she was new. We had to wait long periods of time to get the attention of the waitress for refills and then when the kids ball team came in, we knew our service would only get worse with only one waitress. Very disappointed. Come on Landry's, you've got to get better. We were expecting good Cajun food and only got disappointment.

Asked if I could do my order over the phone to secure some crawfish, but she politely told me I needed to come and go through the drive thru. It's located on the left hand side of LA Hwy 70. There are two seafood places side by side but Craws and Claws is the first one before you get to the lake. Be careful where you turn in at because it's a drive thru set up, so you go in one side and come out of the other. If you mess up like I did, it's easy to turn around, just be careful. There was a dry erase board just off to the side of the drive thru where the whole menu shows you just what they have and the prices. I came on Monday April 26th at 2PM. The menu showed crabs, crawfish, shrimp, both live and boiled, corn, potatoes, sausage, mushroom, garlic, sausage, and more. The lady was so nice both in person and on the phone. She packaged our stuff up so securely and even gave us an extra bag just in case. Our price was $3.99/lb for boiled crawfish but depending on when you come that price will fluctuate. Early on in crawfish season it's pretty expensive, but toward the end of the season, things gets little more affordable. Hands down, that was the best crawfish I've had in a long time. It was spiced just right. We had not even one bad crawfish. It was all great. The potatoes and corn were excellent. The boudin did not disappoint. It was so tasty and delicious. We had a big ol' polar pop to help wash it all down. We paid about $58 and some change for 12lbs of very tasty crawfish....that included 2 orders of potatoes, 2 orders of corn, and 2 pieces of boudin. Not a bad price at all for the amount of food we got. We enjoyed every bit. We will be going back very soon.
