This salon is my absolute favorite in Abilene! I have had service in seven other salons in the area. One of them was good and the atmosphere was pretty, but the service was rude. This salon has it all - the best technicians and the best customer service. The atmosphere is always welcoming. Vangie always greats the customers with a smile. I get compliments on my nails regularly and I never feel like I'm being mistreated. Not only are my nails beautiful with unique designs, but Yesenia makes sure the health of my nails are a priority also. She is so nice and patient with every service. I went to this salon for the first time yesterday. My nails were done by Vangi and they were absolutely beautiful. I think that these were the absolutely most perfectly done set of dip nails I have ever had. I loved the friendliness, the other patrons clearly seemed to have been coming here a long time. I loved that they set up a next visit apointment for me in May in an actual book not just a technicians card with a date on it that may or may not actually get into a planner. The salon was clean and the staff all spoke in English not mysterious side conversations in a different language. Attention was paid to the work as it was being performed and they were not also taking phone calls and prepping other patrons at the same time. I really appreciated their focus on the nails I would be wearing for several weeks to come. read more

Polished was very busy on a weekday after work. This is a call ahead kind of place. I walked in, and they couldn't take me immediately, but said they could book me for 45 minutes later. When I came back in they honored that statement and put me right in a chair. Polished has all new pedicure chairs, tons of OPI colors, and three shellac stations with dual hand lights to reduce dry time. My only complaint would be that it's just one large room with no division of the pedi chairs, so you can hear all conversations. Even ones that you don't necessarily want to hear. However, this place is professional on all other fronts and I would absolutely go here again. read more

They were booked and I was on a schedule but said they could do my mani-pedi at chair and satisfy everyone. Vangie and Teresa were terrific. They wanted to please me about everything nails. I went to get a manicure with dip powder and a pedicure and I throughly enjoyed the service. All the employees were very nice and sweet. Grace took care of me and did a wonderful job. I even had an issue with one of my nails and I called and they got me in quickly to fix it. I have been twice and will continue to go back. Their prices are great in my opinion. I have found my new favorite nail salon! First off, just know, that you must make an appointment! They are extremely busy (which means alot of people know about their great service). I went by this past Monday for a manicure, but they requested I come back 30 minutes later, which was fine considering I work right next to the salon. Ysenia (spelling?) worked on my nails and she was fabulous! Paid close attention and cleaned them up nicely. I loved her so much that I went back today and got my pedi done by her as well! She was running a few minutes behind (working on the client before me), which was no problem since I wasn't in a rush. She spent a full hour on my toes and they came out great! Sometimes it can be hard to walk in here I recommend making an appointment in advance. This salon is SUPER clean. And everyone speaks ENGLISH!!! They have several girl who come around and sanitizer the pedi stations and they even sanitise the chairs not just the foot soak part. I went to this place due to the good reviews with being new to town. I was excited because of them taking appointments and being friendly over the phone. My pedicure was less than great, girl appeared to be new and wasn't confident in even how to do her job. The polish was all over and she tried to do a design twice but made a huge mess. My nails looked great in the beginning but within 2 days they were lifting/all the gel clear peeling off. It's been a week and half already having to have them done again somewhere else! I tried several places before deciding that Polished is the place to be for me. On my first first visit I was drawn in to the "family". The ladies are precious, warm and inviting, welcoming and inclusive. Polished is also VERY clean! My mani/pedis have been great and they're very up to date on new colors and trends. They are by appointment however will try to accommodate walk-ins if their busy schedules allow. Having an appointment allows each one to give you their full attention and you don't feel like they are distracted or that you are just another person on the assembly line. My husband gave me a gift certificate for this place last year for my birthday for a massage. It was all that I wanted. I called and scheduled an appointment but the gal called me and cancelled because she was sick. I called later to make another appointment and was told that she was out and that if I left my information they would have her call me back. She never did. I got busy with life and my family and forgot about it until about a week ago. The certificate expires on 1/1/16. I knew I was cutting it close, but wanted to use it before it was gone. I was told that their masseuse was no longer there (gee, I wonder WHY?) and all I could use it for was a pedicure. I was very disappointed, but figured it was better than nothing. The lady on the phone (I am certain it was the horrible owner) told me that I had to make an appointment, no walk ins. So, I made one for noon the next day. I busted my fanny to get there on time and when I walked in there was one...ONE customer and two workers (one of them, again, was the owner or at least the manager. Whoever she was, she was definitely in charge). None of the pedicure seats were being used. I was told to pick a color. I did, then I sat in a chair to wait...you know, for them to fill a tub and kindly ask me to sit. Instead, I was told to go sit in the 3rd pedicure chair and wait. The tub was empty. Why the 3rd? I mean, there was NO ONE THERE. Ok. So, I went and sat. And sat. And sat. They never filled the tub. Never spoke to me. But, they sure were chatty amongst themselves! Finally, after a good 15 minutes (I am so glad that I made an appointment and raced over there!) another lady shows up (she wasn't even in the building!) and comes to give me my pedicure. She was nice enough. She did an ok job. I have no complaints about her other than she was obviously late. It was an ok pedicure. I have gotten much better before, but maybe it was because I was already so upset about everything else that I had a hard time unwinding and enjoying it. She was actually a very nice girl. This review does not reflect her in any way. She finished her job and I went with her to check out. I gave her my gift certificate and she didn't know what to do with it and she asked the lady in charge. The lady tells her that I am the ONLY one who has ever come back to use a massage certificate and implied that I am a huge inconvenience to her. She actually sighed at me! They discuss how to go about charging me and then she (the lady in charge) looks at me and says, well what else do you want? I told her that I was told that all I could get in return for my certificate was a pedicure, I don't know how much it was or how much I have left and I don't know what else they do here. She said, well...you have $25 left. What do you want? Well, I needed my eyebrows done and so I had another lady do that for me. She was kind as well and she did a nice job. Again, this review is not to reflect poorly on the staff. I get done with her and go back out. The lady in charge then tells me, well, you have $16 left...NOW what do you want? By now I am getting very frustrated. This was supposed to be a relaxing gift for me and instead I was made to feel like I was nothing more than an huge pain in the butt. Nothing more than someone who should hurry up and get out because she was done with me before I ever walked in. That is NOT how someone should be made to feel. Anyway, I told her that I had to get home and asked if I could pass the remaining on to my daughter to use. She told me that is fine, but today is December 30th. She then spoke to me as condescendingly as possible and told me that if I didn't use it by the next day, "too bad!". Those were her exact words! TOO BAD! I told her that I understand that, I know how a calendar works. She humiliated me, made me feel ANYTHING but pampered. I went home and cried. She can keep that $16. I asked my 15 year old daughter if she wanted a mani and after I told her what happened, the last thing she wanted to do was go into that place. I will never again darken their doorway. The thing is, I think they have reasonable prices. If I had been treated well, I would have been back. She lost my business. Also, I know a LOT of women in this town. Don't think for a single moment that I won't tell them all how I was treated by that woman. There are many other places Abilene that make you feel welcome and who appreciate your business.
