I have been to this place two times when in Abilene and both time a nice experience. Nikki did my nails and she is fast and does a good job. This weekend I went on Mother's Day. They were slightly busy when I arrived but they quickly got me in . They kept adding staff as it quickly filled up with Mothers and Daughters. The manicures and pedicures are average at best. They are WAY over priced! 25 for a basic manicure that took the guy 15 minutes. He left my nails at all different lengths. Attached are what I left the salon with the second time. The first time I left, my nails were textured, and not cleaned up. I walked back in, sat back down, another lady filed down the color to remove the texture and sent me on my way. What I was left with were weirdly dull nails (as shown on pictures) , and still not cleaned up color around the nail. This was my 2nd time visiting VIP, 3 weeks ago I received amazing service, my nails were in point and I was charge $90 for pedi, mani, eyebrow wax and lip wax. I went again yesterday and was charge 102, I didn't get the lip wax this time. I was charged 45 for the 40 dollar pedicure. When I questioned it I was told it was because they had to remove shellac from my toes.. I didn't have shellac, just regular sparkly toe polish. They did remove the $5, but then I noticed I was charged 50 for my manicure. They did have to remove the "dip nails" and I had new dip nails applied. There was no cuticle trimming or hand massage. Essentially not even a manicure, just remove old nails and place new ones. I don't know the guys name that did my nails, I was so annoyed with the $5 over charge for pedi that I overlooked the $50 mani. Man these people will really try to scam you for every dollar they can get! Make sure you get the price list and confirm the cost of everything before it's done. Oh, and no wine!! Even though they advertise that, they only have water. Like I said, my first visit was great, so they do have some good technicians. Came here for an acrylic fill and had a great experience. I was seen immediately by Ann and I loved her! My fill was done in 35 mn and it was beautiful. Great shape and painting. They have a good selection of colors, the staff is friendly and the location is clean. Price was $20, which is average, I've had cheaper certainly but this was a quality job! I had a pedicure done. The lady was extremely kind and because she was, I paid and left. However, the service was awful. She cut my toes that were fine before halfway on the sides leaving painful ingrown toenails. She ripped my skin several times while trying to cut my cuticles. She also cut two of my toe nails halfway off, literally leaving the skin under my nail bare and hurting. The shellac on my toes ran over onto my skin and was left that way, and is also extremely bumpy. I also had to pay over $100 for this pedicure alone. Have used this place mostly for nails, usually a good job. However on August 15 I used their waxing services for my chin and upper lip. I was received 2nd degree burn on chin and neck. All I received was a gift card for cost of waxing of chin. And the owner said maybe my skin was extra sensitive and that the girls cant tell.temp of wax. I will be contacting a lawyer. read more

We come here a lot when we get a mani pedi in Abilene. They have 16 pedi chairs and 16 mani tables so you never wait long. They have a lot of product to choose from. They are usually pretty competitive on pricing. Some techs are friendlier than others so that can be a roll of the dice. They usually do a good job for the price, although we have had to have a couple of things fixed here and there if they rush through. This is by far the worst nail salon that I've been to. I got there and got seated right away but the manicure and the pedicure was so rushed that I was out of the chair within 10 minutes! I checked in at 1221 and was out by 1243. The manicure and pedicure I got called for a 5 minute massages That didn't even last one minute. I mentioned all this and there offered nothing to fix it. My girlfriend and I went here today and it was awful. Paid 200 dollars and my toes have still have he in grown nails, our feet are both still rough. My eyebrows are super uneven and she didn't even take the time to give us a mirror afterwards or do the extra plucking with tweezers that they usually do. Let me perfence this my saying I have been going to VIP nails since it literally opened and took my daughters from the time they could have a mani/pedi until they left home there. But I feel like I need to share my experience there tonight. Arrived at 4:45 and was given a pedicure my a gentleman with the name tag Andy. I could tell he was new and didn't understand much English. He rushed thru my pedicure and asked if I needed a manicure. When I checked in I stated I need a pedicure and an acrylic fill. I have worn acrylic nails for 30+ years so I know the routine. I told him I needed a fill not a manicure. He ushered me to his station and proceeded to try to give me a fill. Other technicians questioned what he was doing and I understood he said a fill. He filled the pink fine but I wanted the white and pink filled. Told him once again and he didn't understand. Like I said I know the routine and knew he didn't have a clue. I asked the technician behind me to please tell him I wanted the white and pink filled. He got extremely flustered and tried to drill the white off to fill. He tried to fill the white 3 times and couldn't. At that time it was 6:45. The manager came over and asked me if I could make an appointment for tomorrow because they were short staff and the only 3 people that could do it had appointments. Mind you I only had half my nail on. I asked how long that would take before they could get to me and he said another 45 minutes. Or come back tomorrow because we are about to close and I don't want to deal with it. I told I could not and walked out. This is how I walked out. My nails where literally half on and they didn't care on bit. This is how they are now treating there loyal customer. Will never step foot in there again. I just moved to the area and got my nails done in town for the very first time. I must say, I am very disappointed. This place is really nice. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in to see how large and clean the space was. However, I quickly noticed their lack of customer service. When I first walked in, I was told I would be taken care of immediately, and I was. However, while I was getting my nails done, the nail tech left without letting me know she was leaving. I was appalled. I also asked for water and was told that the person that was doing my nails would get water for me. However, she left. So I sat for 10 minutes until someone else was available. I am truly disappointed with this place. I was impressed by the ambience. I really wanted to like it, but the service was subpar. I am new to Abilene and I wanted to get my nails done for the first time here. I went into VIP nails right when they opened at 9 and they were already busy. I waited for about an hour before i got seated and the guy was just walking in from smoking a cigarette who got me. I showed him exactly what I wanted and he said, "Ohh, okay!" He started on my nails and he put one of them on crooked and i told him and he said it wasn't. he got the wrong polish and i told him that it was the wrong one. He got up and rolled his eyes when he went to go get the other one. He brought it and kind of slammed it down on the table. he proceeded to do my nails and when he started filing them, he cut me on one and on another on the other hand. He didn't apologize, he still put that polish on and it burned like crazy. When I asked him if he is going to make my nails look like the picture, he said yes. Well... that didn't happen. He messed up my nails. He left lines from the file on them, he didn't pay any attention to my cuticles whatsoever, i wanted a little stud on the snowflake and he said no! The polish is smeared. When he was "done," my fingers were very dirty. He didn't bother cleaning underneath them at all. I washed my hands and they were still dirty underneath. I asked if he could clean them and he said to wash them again. My nails look nothing like what I wanted from the picture i showed him. I told him and he said, "sorry" and told me I needed to pay $60-- W/O TIP! Everyone was offered a drink and I wasn't at all. I asked for a water and they said they are room temperature and I said that was fine...nothing. It was a really disappointing experience for it being my first time there. HORRIBLE EYEBROW WAXING. I went in to get my eyebrows waxed and came out with barely any eyebrows. The customer service solution: I didn't have to pay for my eyebrows to be ripped off and they gave me an eyebrow pencil that clearly does not match. I expressed my concerns about my eyebrows before I went in because this thing has happened to me before. She then speedily waxed my eyebrows. Afterwards I could clearly see I was left with pencil thin eyebrows that were shapeless and different sizes. After being told by two "wax professionals" that they were the same and then being told I needed a lip wax, Demi (the manager) came in. She wanted to "fix" them. Since there was nothing to fix she gave me an eye pencil and proceeded to tell me I will look fine for prom. PROM!? I'm a senior in college. Thanks. As far as nails go, they don't last long at all.
