The new store, formally Joanne's fabrics, is a large building so there's so much to look at. They had some good deals too. She got snippy and short and told me "go buy it online". Poletski's has been my family's go to for appliances for many years. We recently bought a news fridge. Unfortunately the fridge was defective and we had to chose another. As we lost all of our food Poletski's made it right by giving us a credit to cover the cost of the lost food. Poletski's has a great section, knowledgeable staff and their new store is lovely. I highly recommend them and Poletski's will be my first choice the next time I need an appliance. read more

Service was on time. However, pay close attention to the 90 day limit on repairs. Repairman installed my gas burner backwards so now the know is incorrect. Burner doesn't light properly and gas is released and then finally lights with a whoosh. So even though it was their poor quality work it us past the 90 days so it would by my bill. We've been purchasing our appliances at Polestskis since Sears went out of business. Recently we purchased a cooktop/oven combo and had our kitchen cabinets re-arranged to accommodate the change from wall ovens. I'm mentioning that part because Poletski's recommended a contractor and he did a fantastic job with the renovation and using old cabinets to make new ones so everything matches. We had friends over for New Years and each set of friends all shared similar experiences of Poletskis. The salespersons are excellent but the service persons is where they absolutely shine. When we call for a repair the guys that come out are always on time, friendly and knowledgeable. That doesn't even do them justice tbh. Really can't say enough on the professionalism and ease in explaining technical things to non technical people lol. 10 out of 10! read more

You can buy something for about 500 but by the time it's delivered and installed and the old ones taken away you're probably going to be up around $800 . Bought a expensive front load washer "whirlpool Since I was replacing the washer that we bought from Poletski's appliances ~12 plus yrs ago we wanted to support local businesses vs's big box stores. Last year Poletski's sold me a "new" oven for a rental property. A few months later PG&E figured out that the oven had been dropped before it was sold and it was leaking gas into my tenants home where there were young children living, endangering their health and causing extremely high utility bills. This past week I bought a washing machine for my house. The first two loads of laundry the machine got completely out of balance and stopped mid cycle, leaving my laundry soapy and sopping wet. I asked poletskis if I could exchange it for a higher end model and they said I could but I would have to pay a 40% "restocking fee" for the washer. That was the final straw, from now on I will be buying my fridges from Costco and Home Depot. Or one of the other local stores if I'm desperate and need an appliance the same day. read more

Had a great experience purchasing a washer and dryer from Poletski's. We used their 'text me' feature to inquire about price efficient options, and they sent us a quote that was perfectly in our budget. Showed up to the store, walked in, and asked them to point us to the washer/dryer we discussed. They gave us some helpful advice and we left having bought exactly what we needed right at the budget we had. They never tried to upsell or anything, and set up an appointment for delivery and installation in just two days. The delivery and installation went extremely smoothly - they were on time, very quick and professional, and installed everything very well. It's so nice to have laundry, and it was so inexpensive, efficient, and friendly to deal with the folks at Poletski's. read more

The office staff gets things wrong, leading to misunderstandings with customers. They told us the technician would bring out a part, but he had to come out first to determine the part. It took weeks for our parts to arrive, then they kept calling the technician when he was finally able to come here and install it. The office staff is rude in doing that. We sat for at least 5 minutes with our refrigerator buzzing loudly because he had to be on the phone with the office staff about another customer. I do not recommend Poletski's but we are a captive audience here in Humboldt County read more

There shady read your receipt before you leave. Make sure it says exactly what your suppose to be getting. Because what Jeff promises you and what you get are two different things. We always shop locally if possible. So avoiding the "Big-Box" stores we drove to Poletski's. We were looking for a stacked washer-dryer system for our new home. They displayed a very limited number of possible selections in the showroom. We were shown a few more models online and we ordered an available LG system. We received lots of promises about delivery dates. First estimate was two weeks for delivery. We ordered the set and paid extra for propane conversion, paid for delivery and paid for installation in our new home. Lots of delays and excuses when we call but after over three months of taking our clothing to a laundromat (for the first time in 30 years) we were notified that our machines were in. Delivery takes a long time but a couple of nice guys bring the machines out, put them in place and hook up the washer. What about the dryer? Well there's no gas fitting and no exhaust set up to allow the machines to be recessed into their niche. So for another 2-3 weeks we are washing at home and drying our clothes on chairs, tables and improvised clothes lines. More time goes by, we get our builders to install the gas fittings (that we bought) but yet another "kit" is necessary to exhaust the dryer on the correct side to get the hot-wet exhaust outside the house. We order this kit, also at our expense and wait. More time goes by. We get called today and informed that we need to drive to Eureka to pick up the kit, and that Poletskis believe that they have done their "installation " and we will need to pay yet another installation fee if we want them to install the dryer exhaust. So here's the scorecard: 1) Poor selection in the showroom 2) Above market prices 3) Any preparation kit to make the machines functional are extra 4) Poor communion about delivery and installation dates 5) Incomplete installation and excessive charging for required services We are truly dissatisfied and disappointed with the company's lack of commitment to its customers. In this day and age the only thing that a local appliance business can offer is personal service to facilitate their customers getting their appliances installed and working and getting on with their lives. I have to give Poletskis a "fail" on this, the most important part of their business model. read more

Having moved to the area recently we were in need of an appliance. We had already visited Poletski's website based off of our realtors recommendation and found the appliance we wanted. Unfortunately, Poletski's doesn't regularly carry the type of appliance we wanted, nor do they service them without an additional purchased warranty plan. No matter, we want to give our business to local businesses and we're willing to order it or at least give Poletski's the opportunity to see if they could get the appliance. The sales woman took down our name, phone number and email (she was very polite and courteous), and let us know she would call her Nevada partners the next day and let us know the timing on the appliance. Unfortunately she never emailed or called and we waited 2 weeks before finally going to another company to order the appliance we wanted. So if you're looking for an appliance from this business, you may need to follow up and drive the actions/timelines yourself. read more

The repair man took 2 seconds to look at it and said it was too old to fixed and charged me $100 even after I said i would buy a new one from Poleski's. He also told me there was no outlet in the back for the new one to be plugged in. So, I called an electrician and when they came they said there was one. A big shout out to Poketski's & especially Ross. I bought a new w/d from their sister store, Eel Valley Appliance, 10/15/2022. On 2/3/2023 the washer stopped. After a couple of service calls & a new part, it turned out to be the motor. I wasn't willing to accept a new motor in a 3 month old washer. Easily purchased a replacement dishwasher for my rental property in Eureka while living out of the area. The service coordinator was really helpful by making suggestions for models based on my needs and quickly got the dishwasher scheduled for installation within a week. Removal of old dishwasher was a small fee. My tenants were very pleased with the technician that performed the installation. read more

IMHO, Poletski's does not deserve the bad raps (or rep) it has been given in these reviews. What I'm reading are many extenuating circumstances and all skewed from a dissatisfied viewpoint. I suppose that's what reviews are for but, unfortunately people are more inclined to write about a REALLY bad experience then his or hers satisfactory one. So I'm skewing my review to an overly-positive one as compensation to say I LOVED my dealings with them especially "Poletski's Ding & Dent" appliances. We bought oven then a fridge and they work great! We got incredible deals and installation was fast, efficient and friendly. That's right... I LOVE Poletski's so don't let a few sour grapes deter you from finding your brand new, perfect (or slightly imperfect to one that is majorly bruised) appliance cuz these guys are WONDERFUL! As an added note, I've had NOTHING but bad experience with Sears and their crappy Kenmore products. To that choice I say, "Don't do it - just st say no!" If you buy Kenmore you get less so just don't. read more

Wish I could leave zero stars. We purchased a GE range from Poletskis in July and it took almost a month for them to deliver it. Since the day it was "installed", it's been nothing but problems. It didn't work properly from day one. First it was the cooling fan. It sounded like a 747 jet liner. Not remotely acceptable. A service technician came out to replace the fan and then the unit started to shut down when turned on and generated an error code. Another visit from the technician revealed that the rpm's of the new fan were not within tolerances. So we waited and waited and waited for the third fan to arrive and finally they came back to install and clear the code. Brought the wrong parts AGAIN and now it will be a few more weeks until we can get more repairs. Again, we purchased in July and it is now late October and our brand new range has never worked properly. I've been cooking meals outside, in the darkness, cold and rain on a camp stove for three months. Poletskis has never offered a new unit or, god forbid a gift card to a restaurant as a gesture of goodwill. I don't have high hopes for the longevity of this unit. I can only assume that they do not value their customers and that their reputation is worth less than 1000$. No wonder Costco is putting mom and pops out of business. They would have made this right same day, no questions asked. read more

We bought a brand new washing machine at Poletski's and it immediately was "unbalanced" literally jumping off the floor during the spin cycle. (We had bought this washer per their recommendation due to needing a commercial grade as we do a lot of laundry with 4 kids.) we had the first guy come out and "fix it" 3 times and start filing paperwork with Maytag to start a paper trail as he put it, because we had a full warranty on this washer. Next time it stopped working, they sent another gentleman "to get a new set of eyes on it", which stopped the paper trail with Maytag, we found out later. He came out a couple times. We keep being told to let some time go by to see if the problem is fixed.... Until the next time it breaks. We have had a Poletski's fix it guy here at least 8-9 times and now they say our year warranty is up and they'll have to talk to Maytag to see if THEY will replace the part that it needs now. Ha! We are waiting to see if Poletski's will do the right thing and replace the lemon washer THEY sold us, while we haven't had a working washer for a month! This washer NEVER worked right from the start. I have videos of it literally jumping off the ground, wires have dangled from the underside TWICE, it locks in the middle of a cycle with laundry inside filled with water.. We went to a small business so we could support local and it's gotten us NOWHERE so far. read more

Wow. Just wow. Apparently they own Eel Valley appliance. So after Tim left a mess in my kitchen following a service repair on my microwave I let him know my displeasure and received a strange message back, something about "being careful"??? Anyways my service contractor contacted Eel Valley. The long morning I waited & waited I finally got a call from guess who? I was made to explain the situation of why I didn't want Poletski's and it was humiliating. The smug announcement was over the top as Tim informed me that Eel Valley was Poletski's "sister store" and no one was available but himself. What a nightmare after already waiting a week and spending hours on the phone! Ten million thumbs down!!! read more

Recently the washing machine in our tenants rental stopped working. Poletski's came out the very next day and assessed the situation. It was a part they said we could buy ourselves online and easily install ourselves which we did. After installation the washer still didn't work quite right so they came out again the very next day, give us a quote for repairs and said they also had new and refurbished washers in stock and ready to install. I have sought Poletski's help many times and have honestly been THRILLED at the service they provided. They truly went above and beyond for us with pretty much every problem that's ever come up with our kitchen appliances. We purchased a refrigerator, paid with credit card. The salesman seemed great. Good service. I got home and the salesman called and told me the price of the refrigerator had gone up. I don't see that as reasonable. I canceled the order and, at his suggestion, ordered the same fridge for less at Sears. I saved over $200. I furnished my entire kitchen with appliances from Poletski's $10k Worth and had problem after problem. Our first refrigerator came dropped on its side and dented and had to be replaced then our microwave came having been dropped and dented and the $2500 stove never worked properly took over four months and three service calls to finally get it working. Then after it working properly I learned I had been sold NOT a Dutch double oven just an oven with a separator which is only good for if broiling so basically I have an entire oven rack size part that I have to either leave to the side or remove every single time I want to cook something Needless to say it was one disaster after another I was offered no compensation through Poletskis or Samsung and when I spoke to Poletskis about how there are carrying products from a company who could care less about customer service they were courteous enough to call and speak with me about it and said they would try to do something to make it right but really all they did was blow smoke up my ass & never followed through.
