Update: Alex texted me threatening to share our thread screenshots where I displayed my dissatisfaction and a lapse in character due to frustration and to also share the revised invoice to the people. Still will not let me speak to the owner. Goes to show how difficult these people are. AGAIN, save yourself the headache and money and go with someone else. I asked for 15% off for ever hour that they were late (which amounted to $68) and she said there will be no discount for them being late. So if you're okay with your movers showing up whenever they seem fit, definitely use this company. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This was the worst moving experience of my life and I've moved 7 times in the past 7 years. It was raining on my move date. The time the movers were supposed to arrive came and gone and I had not received a call from Polancos. So I called them. Alex picked up (the person you'll schedule your move with) and she says "your window is from 5-6 so I still had time to call you to inform you". No apology, no respect or good customer service. I expected them to call me as soon as they knew they would be late so at least I could plan my life due to the changes. Then she tells me; the movers can come at 8 at the earliest. OR we can move your time to tomorrow and we'll send you 3 movers for the price of 2. These people perhaps don't understand that when someone books a move with you they pick up their entire life and have arrangements to be in a other place by the end of the day (turn in keys to old place, close on a house across the country, shut of electricity, gas, etc). So I tell her I have to move today (also was leaving town for work on that next day. And she says well we can't offer you anything if you wanna still move today even though we're two hours late since we're meeting your request. We can't offer you any discount for making a promise to you for showing up between 5-6 and then showing up at 8. So basically they showed up two hours late and offered me absolutely nothing. I asked her if she could AT LEAST give me a courtesy call when the movers were on the way to me and she said yeah, but I got no call. I had to call her at 8. She had no idea where the movers were so then she called them and told me they were almost at my address. I ended up moving over half of my stuff myself in my truck. When I asked to speak to the manager, she told me he wasn't available until Monday. So I called Monday, she tells me "I'm sorry the move has already happened. We can't let you speak to him." AKA fuck you, we already got your money. They also charged me for an extra hour when they shouldn't have. It wasn't until I mentioned it to them that they sent another revised invoice. And in order to get the revised invoice I called Alex, she rejected my call. Then I asked one of the movers to call her from his phone THEN she picked up. And was acting confused about the invoice and wasn't even sure what the issue was. By the way, if you message the "owner" on Yelp or email, it's Alex, the scheduling woman. Not the actual owner. The other 10 reviews of this company are probably so good because literally everything went as expected. As soon as Polancos has something go wrong, they fail miserable and clearly their customer service is fucking shit too. This move cost me $227 when it should have Costed my like $160. So, save yourself the trouble and use another company. If they find you in a position where they can take advantage of you, they 100% will. I asked for some sort of compensation for the wasted two hours and she basically put me in a position where either I move the next day or I move the same day with no extra compensation for my wasted time. I recommend using 3 men movers, they are better in regards to communication and customer service is top notch. read more

The movers needed to do a better job at taking care of the items and wrapping the furniture. The wrapping of the furniture was so poorly done it was falling off before we made it to the new location. NIGHTMARE!! I am giving one star instead of zero, because the girl on the phone was polite every time I called. I was supposed to have 3 movers, between 9-10am. 2 movers arrived after 11. One was on his phone most of the time while loading. The other couldn't speak English. They complained that I had so many boxes. They couldn't get my couch out the front door, so I showed them how to do it. They took 2 hours to get to my new apartment, which was about 50 minutes away. After calling, they did remove the charge for the extra hour they took. It was between 7-8 pm when they finally finished. I wasn't comfortable with the fact that when I paid, the guy called and just read my credit card information over the phone for payment. This cost a lot more than I had expected, I believe mainly because they told me that my job was a 3 man job because my old apartment had stairs. This was a 900 sq ft apartment, and there is no way, in my opinion, that it should have taken that long. read more

Worked hard and great price, but damaged a piece of exercise equipment, patio space heater and stripped out several screws on the front door which has not opened and closed properly since they removed it. Very good rates. The 2 man team showed up with masks a bit late but it wasn't that big of a deal because there was communication. The move went smoothly. 2 men moved a studio amount of furniture and belongings down one flight of stairs and then up four in a little over two hours. I would have thought they needed a third person but no...it was quick. They even moved some items that I had packed in my car before I decided to hire movers. They let you start and stop the timer so there are no discrepancies with the time. My only issue was that they didn't seem to use anything to protect the furniture and at one point dropped the couch cushions on the dirty stairs. If the couch was wrapped this would not have happened. All in all still a good experience. read more

I can't recommend Polancos Movers. Scheduled my move a week in advance. I received a last minute text that they were unable to come out that day because they have been monitoring the weather and it looks like it will be raining all day. To cancel on a customer, last minute, on the day of a scheduled move is bad business. If you're going to cancel at least provide notice the day before. It's not like the weather is going to change much from one day to the next. For whoever is reading this and still wants to use Polancos, I'd suggest you check the forecast beforehand. read more

That means if they go over the hour by 5 minutes, you'll pay for 1/4 hours. That's an extra cost you don't need and it is a form of dishonesty. When Polancos movers showed up and used a phone app to track their minutes and they prorated it per minute. My jaws dropped. I hired 3 man crew as I always underestimated the task. Couldn't speak more highly of Polancos. This has been my BEST moving experience in 31 years. The guys arrived promptly, did a walkthrough to understand what we had, what needed wrapping, etc. THEN they had asked me to start the clock for them. They moved fast but were always careful, I've never seen this much hustle in hourly movers before. After moving from our apartment to our new house we bought them lunch expecting them to just sit and eat on the clock. Instead they had us stop the clock so they could sit and eat before getting back to work. All-in-all the price is great, the work ethic was phenomenal, we had no issues at all.
