I previously used this company Jan. 2024 for unloading a move and I've referred others to their company as well based on that experience and they did not have a good experience. During my recent move, I decided to give them my repeat business. Huge mistake. You get what you pay for. They quoted $110 per hour plus $70 admin fee, minimum 2 hours. That was fine. However, when they showed up, they advised that they charge $15 per roll for shrink wrap. I was in agreement with using the shrink wrap and blankets but they advised they were not sure how many rolls they would use. Then it was changed to 3 rolls. I've used movers in the past and they have always included shrink wrap and blankets in their pricing. However, I've also seen how the shrink wrap is used and 3 rolls is grossly overestimated. I've included a picture of the shrink wrap roll for reference. After signing for them to start the job, a never ending agreement about the number of shrink wrap rolls they would use, and the clock already ticking, I agreed for them to move forward with the additional $45 scam. Instead, they went outside, spoke amongst themselves and someone on the phone and advised that they would not be completing the job and left. I called the primary phone number and spoke with the owner who advised me that I should have accepted the scam pricing from the beginning and then disconnected the phone call. Cancelling a job because you don't want to be called out for overcharging for shrink wrap that should be included in your job is ridiculous. Moving is stressful. To walk out on someone during a time like that is not someone that deserves your business. The bright side is that I had another moving company's card on my door. I contacted them and they were available in the late afternoon. They ended up coming a few hours earlier. The price included the shrink wrap and blankets. They completed a HUGE job in 2.5 hours. I paid more per hour and tipped the 3 movers well. The fact that Astros Moving Company attempted to ruin my day over $45 is ridiculous. They would have made much more than that in tips and repeat business. Edit as of 05/09/25. In response to the owner. I NEVER advised them that I did not have the money to pay the ridiculous $45 for three rolls that were clearly not going to be used. After agreeing to disagree, I actually advised them to move forward. They chose to walk away instead. Not only did I pay more than the $45 with the other moving company, I tipped them generously. Hired Astros to move us from Galveston Island to Richmond, TX. Got three movers and a large truck. Those guys were animals, but in a good way. They were on-time and hit the ground running. They wrapped photos, posters, and just about anything else that could possibly bang around. They even disassembled our queen bed frame. Our entire 1100+ square foot 2/2 apartment was loaded and ready to go in about an hour. Made the trip in about an hour and a half, which gave us enough time to sign some paperwork at the new place. They unloaded and put everything where we requested. There were 2 frames with the glass broken, but it's a lot less damage than I would have inflicted if I had moved myself! I absolutely do not recommend this business. Do not be mislead by the slightly lower hourly rate. The movers work at sluggish pace and you will definitely pay more than hiring true professionals like three men movers or other honest companies. Santos, the scheduler, is unprofessional and disorganized. He thinks nothing of missing an appointment with the excuse that on his calendar he had a date other than what he actually agreed to over the phone. He gets defensive when customers ask for their money's worth as far as asking the movers to pick up the pace and stop wasting time while on the clock. The movers spend excessive time overwrapping pieces just to make the owner the most money. That is dishonest! The truck driver takes the longest, slowest route to the destination. But if you talk to Santos, he answers "no one else has complained before." But he lies if he opens his mouth. He speaks despectively of customers who reach out to him to address these issues. Even when customers hear him on the speaker talking to the movers, he won't apologize and carry on as if nothing. A bedroom set and a sofa took three hours and 20 minutes to load and unload due to the molasses-pace of the movers. Yet, Santos told the mover over loud speaker that the customer had been b!tching. He didn't address the issues because the movers did what they are trained to do. Obviously, Santos was pleased to make over $500 regardless of the time the movers wasted repeatedly answering personal calls, hanging around in the truck unnecessarily, and taking the long route to the destination. read more

Terrible! They left 1/4 of my stuff upstairs on my move out! I told them( movers a handful of times to not forget all of the boxes, and 1 fireplace screen upstairs, THEY LEFT THEM!!!! We get here at my final place, and they complained about how many boxes I had, and the few things that were to be moved up there!!! THEN, I went upstairs to check on progress, and he didn't even put my bed together correctly!!! I used this company in 2022 and was very pleased with the 3 workers that were sent. For my move this year there was a different set of workers that showed up. Santos quoted $120/hour (2 hour minimum) with a $90 fuel charge. Last year I had a 4 hour move because my new place was 45 minutes away in good traffic. This year I only moved 20 minutes away. As soon as the movers arrived they said they would load for 30 minutes to keep us under the 2 hour minimum. I communicated to the driver that I needed ALL of my stuff loaded, not 30 minutes worth. Like wtf? They did not take all of my items. They did not even give me the 2 hour minimum. They were lazy and unprofessional. They put the box spring on top of the mattress in the bedroom. They lost the key to my treadmill. They ripped the foil vent to my dryer. They broke our porch light and said to tell the "apartment people that we found it like that". I had to make 5 more trips to get my items moved to the new place after paying for a 2 hour minimum I never received. I do not recommend this company and will not use them again. read more

I cannot give a review based on service performed, because when I attempted to book this moving service I asked the owner for a copy of his insurance certificate in advance. He would not provide. Not sure why specifically...he just said he would not provide information about his company to someone he had not met in person. I have moved before and it is not unreasonable to request a copy of an insurance certificate in advance to be able to verify the company does indeed carry adequate and verifiable insurance. read more

It was not the company that moved me before I pacifically asked your man did they have all the screws they were in the back the screws screwdriver and my springs were under the bed. You guys are mad because y'all took the wrong direction, and it was in the GPS Went the whole opposite way and you got mad because I told you something about it you blocked my number after I told you you guys broke my bed which my bed was over $1000. We looked at everything every detail before putting it into you guys's truck I Stood right there and watched them take it out of the storage and we inspected everything. It was a scratch on the back of the headboard. That was it which your guys told you about.
