I requested an estimate for the move of 1 bedroom set + a china cabinet and a few other miscellaneous kitchen items - I repeated over and over what was to be picked up from the house. I also documented what needed to be moved on the email for the estimate. When the movers got to the house they did not take all of my belongs. I set up the delivery, I communicated what needed to be moved, I paid the deposit - So when someone tells you something we didn't discuss, why wouldn't you at the very least call to confirm details? I paid 316.00 for 3 men and a truck to move 1 bed set from point A to point B, which was discounted due to the "mixup". I didn't know of the mix up until the movers called me to tell me that they didn't get all of my things and requesting payment. -- In my mind I've been totally ripped off and am very disappointed in this service - I asked for them to at least go back and get the other items for free, since they left it. I was denied and told that I am still responsible for the 316.00$ and if i wanted to use them again they will discount the next move. Which is another rip off because of the deposit, 2 hr min, and trip charge. Unfortunately I had a very unprofessional experience with the office that resulted in threats from the owner. Upon completion of the move, I tried to pay with my debit card but I was told to use zelle as the debit card has fees. I used zelle and showed the mover my confirmation and he left. The next I was told by the office that they did not receive my payment, which was true as zelle took the money out of my account but did not send the money to the company yet because they were a new contact in my phone and needed 3 business days to verify. This was over the weekend with a holiday on that following Monday so the company had to wait 6 days to be paid by zelle and during this time I was constantly harassed via text message, phone call and the owner came to my house threatening us. Again, I paid upon completion but because the company wanted the payment though zelle to avoid transaction fees, this resulted them in getting their payment late. I had no issue paying with my debit card but unfortunately they chose a route that aggravated them. So sad as I have used them before and recommended them and enjoyed their service . So lets start with the good. A little context will help of course - its probably cooler inside of an oven right now than it is outside and gas prices are at all time highs. I had 2 moves - first moving my stuff to storage and then to my new place. The first move - scheduled for the morning since I had closing in the afternoon. Movers went to a different person which was ok as long as I would still be able to make closing so we're rescheduled for 1. They didn't show till 3pm - now I get jobs running late or traffic - after messing up with my morning appointment I don't think it was too much to expect much better communication. The only reason why this isn't one star is because the guys did a great job (the first time) with getting in there, taking care of my stuff and getting me moved into the storage. In fact the only reason why I even considered using them again was to that group of guys working. So I thought maybe since they KNEW they weren't on time previously they would be sure to be on time. -_- sadly I was wrong. I asked for them to be there at 1 - I even missed lunch to be sure I was on time for my appointment. They mentioned that the group was to arrive between 1 and 2. Now if I am clearly thinking 1 pm why not call and communicate if we aren't on the same page. Different group of guys show up 35 minutes late. They didn't work with the same work ethic as the first group. Value was good all things considered but I wouldn't recommend them. They could do a better job with the communication - people in general are understanding. If someone has a set appointment time that's what they are expecting - things come up just communicate updates better. read more

This was my second time using the moving company. I has pleased with my complex move to my 3rd story apartment (with no elevator!) I was also fortunate enough to move on a day that was raining; and they were very flexible and accommodating to that. I was concerned at first when three 20-year-olds showed up at my doorstep but they did well! I'm giving them 4 stars. My move from a two bedroom two bathroom on they first floor apartment to a 2 bedroom two bathroom apartment on the 3rd floor took 6 hours. The movers also showed up about 30 minutes late, and a few glasses were broken during the move (expected, but still have to be accounted for). Overall good movers and a decent price. do not use this service really close and they keep changing their prices they overcharged me they destroyed my hardwood floors in the old house and the new house and scratched up all my new vinyl plank flooring and they scam to be my stuff did not fit in the truck and we had to pay more money and get another truck when the guy came to the house and said everything would fit in the truck and don't hire them for cleaning. Highly recommend Polancos Movers! I booked them a week before my move and they were able to fit me into their schedule which I really appreciated. I even mentioned that the scheduled time of 5:30 PM on a Sunday was a bit too late so they said they would try their best to come earlier. Day of, I got a call at 3:30 PM saying they were ready! I hired Polanco Movers to help with my recent move. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience. They were initially the best quote I received. However, it took them 5 and half hours to move a 1 bedroom apartment 4 miles down the street. Initially they started off well, but it got to the point where only 1 guy was moving everything while the others sat back. It was obvious they were trying to milk the clock. Also, one of the movers dropped my wood side table and permanently damaged it. They purposely hid the table in a corner facing away so the damage could not be easily seen. I did not initially notice it but contacted their office once I did. It had only been a few days, but they insisted all damage needed to be reported within 24 hours. That would've been a lot easier if they had not hidden the table in a corner. I've reached out to them multiple times and they continue to ignore my messages and calls. TL;DR You get what you pay for. Go with another moving service that won't milk the clock and cost you more in the long run. read more

Pros: great response by owner and his team to messages. I got a reply back very fast. We planned for a full house move and got quotes for hourly service and the full service. we went with the full packing, move and unpacking. The team showed up at 8:15 am and worked until 4pm packing. Towards the end of the day, the packing team seemed very tired and were ready to stop working. the next day was the move but there was still stuff to pack. The moving team had to pack some of the stuff. the plan was to move the boxes. They started at 9:30 am and then we moved to the new house. The movers were fantastic and worked really hard moving the boxes. they were so fast I could not direct them all to the right places. the unpacking team was there too and unpacking as fast as they can and getting the boxes out. Unfortunately, we still did not finish so we had to do a third day. There were also a lot of boxes to still be unpacked but everyone had to leave and go home. We just could not finish everything. The last day was the furniture and dissemble and reassemble. This was done with 3 men only. They were great again hauling the heavy furniture all over the house. I am truly grateful for this team and this company. The truth is no one can ever unpack and place things where you'd like them as much as you can do it yourself. It will take time to unpack and organize how you would like it. This team took out most of the stress but will not take it all out. Just know moving is never easy and be nice to the movers who are working so hard to get you to the new house. During the unpacking some glass items kitchen items were broken and during the heavy lifting and running up the stairs the laundry machines got scratched up. First time using movers and after this experience I'm not sure how I feel about "professional movers". In the past I've always done it myself and got help from family or friends. The reason I decided to hire movers this time is because the items that needed moving were heavy and I wanted dependable help. What I liked about Polancos was their response time. I think I requested quotes from ten different moving companies and they were one of three to respond first. Another thing that made me go with Polancos is because they were the cheapest. I did not have a full apartment to move as the majority of the items had already been moved. I sent pictures of the items I needed moved as well as items I needed disassembled and was given a quote. I scheduled my appointment over the phone and was told the appointment would be for 9am. I remember this specifically because I set my alarm for 8am so I could get up and go get gas and be back home when movers arrived. At about 9:30am I called the company and inquired where the movers were. I was told, "the appointment time is between 9-10am". The two movers showed up at 10:27am (LATE) and started moving items at 10:32am. You have to press the start button on their tablet to start the clock. The two movers started moving items quickly but as I watched them I noticed that they handled some of my boxes carelessly. Some of my boxes were marked 'heavy' or 'fragile' and I guess because they didn't speak good English they didn't know or just didn't care. The movers did NOT wrap or secure any of the items but I figured they are the professionals, they know what they are doing. WRONG!!! As you can see (picture) my full length mirror was damaged as they did NOT wrap it. I had them put the mirror in the bedroom in my new place as it's heavy. I only just noticed the damage when I decided to move the mirror on the other side of the room. Not sure if it was dropped or damaged during transportation but I was unaware it was damaged. Not happy at all because I wasn't even told that they damaged it. My mirror was in perfect condition before they moved it as I've only had it a few months. If I would've known they didn't have the proper equipment to move my items I would've went with another company. Definitely learned my lesson: cheap is not always the best choice. read more

This review is based on my beau's experience during the move - not my own as I was at work. 4/5 solely because of the following: -didn't have the cellophane wrap as guaranteed by the scheduler, -touched the TV screen when placing into the box, apparently this bothered my beau... -removed a screw/washer from the apt gate and Jimmy-rigged it together with a cord...(I hope I don't get charged for this by landlord) Other than that, we were impressed with the efficiency and price of the movers. They loaded/unloaded under 4 hours and charged around $365ish which included 3 movers, blankets and tape. They helped him pack up the pantry and fridge at no extra cost. They literally broke my TV and hid it, once I finished cleaning my new apartment up and put everything together I tried to turn on my TV and it was damaged. I called and the lady that answers the phone said she would have the owner call me back and of course he never did,and my number was blocked from calling backI found the email of the owner because I used it when I Zelled them my payment, I explained to him via email what happened and if I could get this situated, he never responded to my email I never got a call back. We had a miscommunication on our pickup date but they adjusted to our needs. Very professional people. The best part is they offered to clean the house with $250 extra. Polancos was the best moving company I have ever used. I first requested a quote via Yelp and they came for a free in-home estimate the next day. I booked them right away but ended up having to reschedule twice due to delays in my home closing. Adan the owner was so nice and accommodated all of my changes without issue. On moving day, the three-man crew was on time, courteous, and very diligent. They all wore masks the entire time, which couldn't have been easy with all the heavy lifting. They also took such amazing care of our things - be it large appliances or loose items that won't fit into boxes. They meticulously wrapped many items that none of my prior movers cared enough to wrap (we agreed on a flat fee so I know they weren't just trying to buy time but genuinely cared for our stuff). Anything they had to disassemble were re-assembled perfectly in our new home. Very reasonably priced, especially given their high quality of work. I paid via Zelle, which was convenient for me. They just made everything so easy from beginning to end. They are truly the most professional, responsible and hardworking movers I could've asked for. NOT TO BE TRUSTED As a returning customer, I was excited to use this company for my newest move. However, it was far from compatible to my first experience. I was assigned these two young men, age from late teens to early 20s, for my move. One unknown, one by the name of Fernando, who happens to be one of the companies managers. their service went on for an extensive amount of time and was paid for accordingly. Not only was the move heavily assisted by myself, and three of my colleagues, I still paid for a full service that was not discounted in regards to such. After the move was completed, in my process of unpacking, I'd come to realize that one of my suitcases had been opened and several items within that case were unaccounted for. As it was late into the night, I left a message to the office to be reached out to the next morning to plead my case. Though the front office was exceptional and trying to help me in anyway possible, I was advised to reach back out to Fernando to discuss the situation. After a short conversation with Fernando, I sensed immediate denial of any actions that were taken that day. Without even mentioning, Fernando somehow seemed to know exactly what items were missing. Shortly after communicating back with the office, the owners continuing disregard to help on any of these matters were clear. Sadly, I would come to a conclusion that I simply would have to accept my losses and there is nothing to be done about it. Hello my fellow yelp users, I found the business through yelp and I chose them based on their easy clear pricing (or so I thought). I emailed the business 8/15 to confirm a move for 8/20. The first couple of interactions via email were quick but once I confirmed the move the communication via email lessened -_- lol But okay moving on... the first contract that was sent to me had the wrong move date and I informed the business via email. I didn't hear anything from them until I CALLED the business and even then I never spoke to anyone they just followed up via email. The reply didn't include a new contract but a reply stating "Confirmed! For 08/20" So then a couple days went by and as any person I had questions so I proceeded to call the business 8/18 again NO one answered but a voicemail was left. My questions were about the weather because the week of the move there was rain forecasted, I also wanted to know about the price and understand what I was paying for and lastly I wanted to know when exactly the time for the move started as the move is timed. Again, no response so the following day 8/19 I emailed them saying something along the lines of "hey I called please call me back at this number 281-xxx-xxxx." I received an email that stated "I never received a call or nor do we have a voicemail. What is your #" I received a call soon after and all my questions were answered and the day after was the move. So the day of the actual move 8/20 things were a little better kinda. So Fernando was the guy that contacted me and informed me he was arriving at 10:00AM. The movers didn't arrive at 10:00AM but they did contact me to let me know a second time and the arrival time was actually 10:13AM. The movers inspected the furniture and arranged the truck to fit all items. My husband and I wrapped all pieces of furniture so the move was a pretty easy one for Fernando and his partner. Our furniture items included a full size bed frame and mattress. A media console, round kitchen table, a dresser, an outdoor table with two chairs, marble coffee table and three medium size boxes. The guys loaded and unloaded the items without trouble and honestly the move it's self was okay. I will say the corner of my sofa was damaged but honestly no big deal. My husband and I arrived at the second location before the movers and they were kind enough to inform us that they stopped for diesel and the time was stopped so not to worry. The unloading happened and then the confusing part of the whole experience happened. The main guy, Fernando, had no clue how much I was quoted which then I proceeded to inform him. The contract that was proposed to me included 2 movers for 2 hours for a total of $200. The diesel fee for a houston city limits move was $60 for a final total of $260. The diesel fee for a move outside of houston city limits was $80. Tell me why whoever was on the phone with Fernando at the time quoted us $310. What?????!!!!! Absolutely not! So then I proceeded to ask and inform him again what I was quoted. Fernando had no clue as he was just repeating what was being said to him and finally I was quoted $280. Whatever right, I paid the $280 cash as the debit card payment was going to up charge me 5%. The guys left and that was that. Overall, I am dissatisfied in the lack of communication between the person that confirms appointments and the workers. The actual movers they were nice and did what they came out to do. Damages happen all the time regardless so I am not upset about that. In retrospect the price is actually affordable compared to a lot of moving companies but I was confused on the $310. It could have been a mistake or a tactic to extract more money. The move took less than two hours (it took 1hr and 20 mins) and I still paid the $200 for the move and extra for the diesel as stated in the contract . I kept my end of the deal and they wanted to get smart and up charge me. Imagine if I would not have asked about the $310 and just paid. I'm sure they would have taken it but I questioned reason why the price was reconsidered. Anyways, I hope I'm making sense and I know the review is mixed but I just wanted to share my experience. I had a second witness and we estimated the same time (since we we also in and out seeing the movers working on the truck). Also, there was damage to my furniture due to tape that was used. Worst experience ever! Do NOT use this company. First of all the person who answers the phone misquoted me 2 weeks before my move. Then waits until the exact time the movers were supposed to show up to tell me she cannot honor the price quoted. The new price they were going to charge was more than double what was quoted, knowing that at that point I had already told the other companies who gave me quotes that I wasn't going to use them. Then come to find out that they sent a truck that was not big enough for my items. I had to end up renting a UHaul and ask family to help finish my move. Then to top it all off- the guys who moved my items dropped my washing machine and didn't tell me. I find out the next day when I am trying to connect my machine that it is broken. I reached out and was told that if I brought it back to Houston ( I moved to the Austin area! ) their "handyman" would fix it. The lady who answers the phone is not professional at all. She is rude and ridiculous. The owners of the company won't speak to me either. Save yourself the problem and find a different moving company. And they scuffed up a base board in our new house, dented our fridge, and when they sent someone to fix it he made it 10 times worse. They also broke an entertainment center and tried to hide it. Then just left it like that. They said they'd replace it, but never followed up and just thought I'd forget. Needless to say, don't use them unless you like your items to get messed up and broken.
