Poke Bowl
Al N.

This is a go to place for me for lunch. I usually do a pick up order and it is ready within 15 minutes. The staff is super friendly and they have even stayed open during hurricane lockdowns for the downtown residents. The poke bowl is my personal favorite and you can either choose from a preexisting bowls or you can create your own. Not really a dine in place but they have plenty of seating if that is what you are looking for.

This is my favorite place in charleston to get a poke bowl. You can build your own and they have a ton of options to choose from. Service is always friendly and quick. I always go straight there and order by filling out their form, but they also offer grub hub and Uber eats.

I'm not sure why people open restaurants just to make them look and operate like a teenagers bedroom. I love poke, but I don't accept substandard and bland meals that cost. Turns out you don't even order a meal here. You just scribble what you want on a note, and they add it up into the machine. I got a pretty regular bowl with minimal sides because you're limited at every single turn. The food wasn't anything spectacular. I didn't finish the half hearted bowl and left to get a better lunch down the street. The interior is just boxes of stuff stacked everywhere, so it feels very cluttered to exist in the space. Not worth it.

Superb pint of options. Tons of different sauces. They have tobiko and masago and Japanese pickled cucumber and spicy salmon or tuna, Kano salad. Much more options than beech. Very nice people too. Not bored college kids.

One of my favorite lunchtime poke spots, Poké Teahouse, does not disappoint. I order the Scallop, Mango, Pineapple, Edamame, Cilantro, Masago, Avocado, Sushi Rice Bowl, with Ahi Tuna, Classic Poke sauce & Fried Onions garnish and 15 minutes later I'm in Heaven!

I have found my new "go to" healthy option when I'm downtown. Poké Tea House is just fantastic. You can build your own bowl or choose from the many options already put together on the board. They make it very easy to order and to choose your own. You basically just check boxes and therefore be as healthy as you choose. The ingredients are so fresh and healthy. Delicious. Love it. It's clean fresh and the staff are super helpful. Parking is a breeze, right across the street in front of an apartment complex. The location is just barely off of King, around the corner from Bourbon and Bubbles. I cannot wait to go back. A total favorite. If you are watching your intake this place definitely gives you total control. I felt revitalized after I ate and not full of stodge. Don't miss.

raw pinkish gray shrimp which were completely translucent

I placed a to-go order of a poke salad (mixed greens) with shrimp and some other veggies and fruits. I was so disappointed to see that the shrimp were not cooked properly. They were grayish-pink and completely translucent. Cooked shrimp should be bright pink and opaque. Due to a risk of food poisoning from eating raw shrimp (and the salad touched by the raw shrimp), I immediately threw away my meal. Shrimp is not a food to be served raw!

I love this location so much! It's very cute and one of my favorite quick on-the-go lunch spots for a lighter but satisfying meal. It's always so fresh and delicious! Highly recommend

Thai Milk Based Tea w/ boba
Kenya B.

It wasn't like the usually Thai tea I get from back home but it was okay. I think that they use condense milk to sweeten instead of sweeting the tea and adding the half and half to the tea after. It wasn't like a creamy orange color that I'm used to but it did do the job.

I didn't dine in this time, I ordered my meal to-go but I still got a good feel for the space. I ordered spring rolls and shrimp and scallop hibachi. The veggies was definitely the highlight of the meal. The seafood was cooked nicely, but it was the fresh, crisp veggies that really stood out and gave the dish its balance. The portions were generous, big enough that you're not leaving hungry, and maybe even with leftovers for later. The spring rolls missed the mark for me. They lacked the veggie crunch I was hoping for and didn't have that crispy, golden snap that makes spring rolls irresistible. Instead, they leaned a bit on the soggy side, which left me wanting more texture and flavor balance. Overall, Hawaii Steak & Seafood House is one of those spots where you'll walk out full and satisfied portion-wise. The hibachi veggies shined, but a few other items could use a little fine-tuning. Clean space, big plates, and a meal that's worth a try if you're in the area.

First the people who are…read morepart of this show handled pretty much everything from greeting you, seating you and doing the show. Before they seat you they take a picture of your party which you can purchase at the end of the show. I will start with the buffet they offered a pineapple chicken dish thats was a spicy but not where you needed to drink milk . It was really delicious. I also had the white rice which they seasoned and I enjoyed that too. They also offered a Tilapia Dish and pulled pork dish. My husband had that and he enjoyed it too. There was also curly fries and a salad offering too. The desserts where ok - they were individual cakes slices a few varieties that they offered up in pretty round holders, they were definitely store bought. They were good but not exceptional. The Buffet is all you can eat. They offer Iced Tea and Water with buffet. All other drinks you have to pay for. The Show itself was Amazing. Watching how they interacted with each other was really enjoyable. You could feel the camaraderie among them. The Dancers were Amazing and Graceful. Wish I could move like that. I definitely would recommend if your on Vacation or Live here its a experience you shouldn't miss. I have posted some pictures for you to view.

So for the longest time, my…read morefolks had wanted to bring me to the Polynesian Fire show at one of the nearby hotels and to be honest I don't think that they had ever done this themselves in the years that they had been there. My folks are not the photo takers that I am so if they did this and I didn't recall the mention, there is no photo evidence to the matter so here we go. Presented at the St. John's Inn, the event takes over what appeared to be the entire inside event space. Once the line moved the crowd inside we were greeted by staff in traditional garb and handed leis. Another person played a ukelele to welcome everyone and it set the mood. Inside were all the tables, the stage of course and a small gift shop with items that had an island flare along with a pay per drink bar. The food was set up as a buffet and there was some pork, a fish dish, chicken along with a couple of vegetables and some rice. Some have balked about this being all that was set up to eat but I was actually okay with it. I admit that I thought there would be more along the lines of seafood but I am fussy about that stuff for the most part. The emcee/host was also a part of the musical group that performed a few radio hits with an island flair and I got a kick out of this and then it was time for all of the island presentations. It's difficult to describe it all but there was lots of hula being done by lovely dancers, along with a menacing Haka dance. Then a pause in the night happened while a protective netting was set up between the stage and the patrons and this was done to prevent any accidents with the batons and assorted other items that were used during the fire performance. This was a super exciting part of the night and I give credit the performers for their skills and amazing display. My high rating was mainly because I had a really fun time and had never been to anything like this before in my life. If you're visiting Myrtle Beach and can secure a spot at this show its a worthwhile event. I was able to be sitting closer to the stage which made it all the more thrilling. Thanks for reading.

I am not someone who waits in line for a reservation. I always joke that if Jesus Christ is at the end of the line, I'm still not waiting. So... we paid someone to stand in line for us. The place itself is adorable. Small, intimate, and full of charm. I was a little thrown off that the only drink options are beer, wine, or water. Two people in our party don't drink, so that felt like a miss. But then the food came. And I get it now. It was, without question, some of the best food I've had in a long time. We ordered a lot, and every single dish delivered. The caviar sliders were unbelievably good, buttery, salty, and indulgent in the best way. The tuna toast, fennel and celery salad, and ceviche were all standout, with the ceviche being especially memorable. The soft shell crab and tempura flounder were perfectly done. Even the gundi surprised me. And to finish, the "not fried" ice cream and banana pudding were just outstanding. Service was excellent, warm and attentive without being over the top. The whole experience felt special. Bottom line: I hate waiting in line, and I still wouldn't. But I am very glad we found a way around it. Totally worth it.

Once they opened, someone came down the line to see if we wanted to sit now or put our name down for later. Definitely wish we would've just sat at that time since the earliest time they had once we got to the front was 8pm. Table wasn't quite ready when we popped back at 8pm but they walked us through drinks/wine lists while we waited outside and brought the drinks out to us while we waited. Got in to our table at 8:25pm. The food: Everything was delicious. We ordered 5 dishes between the 2 of us and ended up taking a little bit of the last dish home but only so we had room for dessert. Service was amazing, everyone was helpful and kind! Verdict: Would I wait in line, sweating in the 85 degree sunny weather again? Probably not. Would I wait in line again if it was a cool 70? Maybe. Honestly, didn't really fill the hype meter for me when there are SOOO many fantastic seafood restaurants in Charleston but glad I finally went! *not pictured: cacio e pepe fried cauliflower (are it before the phone could snap it)

The outdoor seating is a nice touch, with a mix of open-air tables and some covered spots at the bar for shade. The drink menu is decent, with plenty of tropical cocktails to choose from, though the beer selection is surprisingly limited for a place that stays this busy. Most of the service seems to run through the bar, and while the bar staff was friendly, upbeat, and doing their best despite being absolutely swamped, the table service was pretty spotty. The food menu is just okay--nothing terrible, nothing standout. I ordered the Caribbean Jerk Chicken sandwich at lunch, and unfortunately it did not sit well with me at all. It upset my digestive system enough to derail one of my vacation days, which definitely colored the experience. One thing that stood out was the presence of armed security guards. Not necessarily a problem, but it does create a different atmosphere than you might expect from a casual beachfront bar. Many reviews have mentioned the parking. We stayed at the hotel, so it wasn't an issue for us but somebody sitting next to me at the bar was ejected by management for something related to parking. I'm not sure of the exact details because I couldn't hear the conversation well, but it seemed to have to do with either buying or selling a parking pass with someone else. There was another incident where an unruly patron had the police called on them after engaging with one of the aforementioned security guards. That said, these seemed to be atypical of the total experience. Overall, it's an entertaining spot for drinks and music, but the unpleasant food experience land it at a middle-of-the-road three stars for me.
