Shoyu ahi poke. Not good all you taste is shoyu
Wesley T.

Been a while since the last time I dined here, but my friend said that this is where she wanted to eat. She was in awe of the amount of items on the menu. Finally she opted for one of the specials, miso butterfish plate at $23. I wasn't as hungry so I bought a half pound of ahi shoyu poke. My friend raved about the butterfish, good choice on her part. I didn't care for the poke. All I tasted was a strong shoyu flavor, very disappointing given the price of fresh ahi poke these days. Not sure if I'll come back, it is a little pricey for guys on fixed incomes. I guess I need to get used to the new norm in dining prices.

Crawfish and Shrimp Gumbo
Justin R.

Poke Stop is a beautiful and wonderfully put together establishment. The service was to be expected for what I ordered. I'm sure not that many people order fried shrimp by themselves, but I did. They were not what I expected. I was highly pleased with how they turned out. They were nice and crispy with a light tempura batter (eat them while they are hot so they don't get soggy). What really stood out was their daily special. I ordered a "Fried Oyster Poboy" combo (came with fries and a drink). There was a sauce on it that may have been their version of remoulade. It was a little sweet for my palate but still very flavorful. Back to the Thursday Specials offerings: I was pretty surprised to see Crawfish and Chicken Gumbo on the special list. I was very excited and skeptical at the same time. Most of my reviews are me bashing dishes that have Creole, Cajun, and Louisiana in the title. With that said, Gumbo is a staple where I come from. It's easy to mess up and not many people agree on what's in it (on any given day). I tasted the gumbo direct from the establishment. I'm not going to bash the Gumbo. This gumbo was light of flavor and had a layer of grease on top. The rice that came with it was separate. It's all good. My recommendation is that you take the gumbo gravy (wasn't really roux) and scoop it out and put it on the rice. Put it all on there. I had a little butter in my fridge so I put a little of that on it with some Cajun seasoning (Slap ya Mamma) and salt. 10/10 for my preference. I was actually grateful it came under-seasoned. My overall experience was 8.5 out of 10. I'm very impressed with this place. This revived motivation to eat in Mililani.

Dry chicken

Came with my husband to poke stop to get a Taegu chicken plate for him. Haven't been here in a year when it was good and friendly staff or maybe my luck today wasn't a good day for them 240pm. The chicken was plain no flavor not even at least a drizzle of Taegu sauce more like one splash, my husband was so hungry typical guy just eat. All I gotta say is was dry no sauce cannot even taste any sauce. Will never come over here again and definitely going tell my friends and family on this side no eat here.

I really do love it here! Was chatting with a friend about this place, so I decided to stop for dinner. I got the executive plate with Kapakahi poke, Sous Chef plate with Kapakahi poke, salmon skins, spicy garlic tater tots, and a half pound of smoked ahi belly. I am never disappointed when I eat here! Even the girl that works here remembered me, and is always so friendly. 10/10 recommended if you're in the area!

Been to this location for many years. I love the poke and lunch plates at this family owned business. Renowned Chef Elmer Guzman, who was a graduate of the KCC culinary program knows how to create some awesome local style plates at a modest price in this casual place. I love their poke and their creamy salmon is among my favorites. Today, I got the Executive Chef plate. It was loaded with a combination of Korean style bone-in kalbi, garlic shrimp, garlic Island fish & your choice of poke. I opted my plate with creamy salmon poke, white rice and potato salad. It's da bomb! Taste so ono and I had a hard time finishing it all- but I managed to- hehe! The service was great from ordering to leaving. I dined in and my meal was served on real plates, water cup with ice, and silverware. My meal came out quickly but I did come at a slow time. There are signs posted that say "Fresh Food isn't Fast- Mahalo for your Patience" so it might be a good idea to phone order ahead of time. The place was very clean. There's a tub to place your used dishes in. There's a long table to sit on as well as counter space to eat. The friendly staff said "Thank you!" when I was leaving. Of course I'll be back!

Fish was good , had plenty seating , service was great. The pistachio and ricotta cake was so good!! The place is original with a lot of artwork.

Craving poke but can't decide where to stop since there's a ton of places on the island? Look no further. You came to the right spot. Not only was this place featured on Diner, Drive Ins and Dive, it was by far one of the best experiences I have had at an establishment that made it to the big screens. The auntie that took our orders was soooo patient. I literally took so long to decide what I want because the choices were incredible. She even gave us samples. Talk about choice paralysis. Anyway, I ended up getting the garlic ahi w masago poke bowl and the rice was cooked to perfection. I am craving it right now as I'm writing this. They also have other choices if you're not into raw fish such as burgers, gumbo, etc. I live about 35 mins away but I would absolutely make the drive out to Mililani just for this poke and the service. 10/10 all around!!!!

Shoyu poke bowl and Cali poke bowls in question from previous Yelp reviewer.
Branden L.

Just saw a review from Christina F. of Moanalua about the ahi in her shoyu poke being "black" and Cali poke bowl ALSO being "black". Here is a picture of the actual poke bowls in question. The fish looks JUST FINE. As a matter of fact, I just ate some from BOTH bowls and the poke was AWESOME. Some people are just unhappy with their lives and find the need to take out their unhappiness out on other people. It makes them feel good about the issues that they are having in their own lives, giving them a sense of control in the chicken shit lives that they lead. To Christina F. of Moanalua: just stay home and save yourself some heartache and pocket your attention-seeking behavior for people who actually care. Your useless Yelp reviews, while helping you to feel like you have some sense of control in your insignificant life, mean nothing to people who actually know what they are talking about about. Poke Stop has awesome food. I eat here ALL THE TIME. Never got sick once. Nothing but a full belly of top quality poke. 5-stars all day, every day.

Laulau pleasantly surprised me as this was my first foray to Waipahu Highway Inn. Every time I got laulau at the Kakaako location the meaty (non fatty) parts of the pork was dry; this one was moist throughout, even in the meaty parts. Poi was good, especially mixed with the lomi salmon. Mom's squid luau was nice, came out hot, though it was a little sweet for her taste. The smoked meat was also a little sweet, though we know that's how they prepare it at H.I. Nice mix of smoky and sweet with the meat and onions. Finished with the haupia, which is standard and always dependable there. Like the old plantation feel and the old photographs of Waipahu all over the place, right down to the palaka decor. Every time I return I try to eat at H.I.

I'm not sure why they don't pool the tips or just raise the menu price but it is what it is. Service has always been warm and welcoming even when they were at their older location by McDonalds. I do love this location more than the Kakaako one. Stopped by yesterday for two tripe stew plates and to me, the to-go container containing the stew was a little small, but they were very generous with the pipikaula. Each plate was around $17 and it included rice, salad, and haupia. To me, that's still a very fair price. I had ordered online and my order was ready to go by the estimated time. The lot is extremely small and the spaces are tight so you may have to find street parking. They also have a points program so don't forget to sign up for bonuses and rewards.

Hubs and I started dabbling beyond our usual kalbi and garlic chicken combo and crunchy garlic with tater tots. We tried a new addition to their menu: poké nachos. I've seen these elsewhere on island but their wontons are freshly fried, spiced with furikake, and don't feel too heavy. It's a nice vehicle to eat their poke and comes with Taegu as well as crab and seaweed salad. Did I have it twice in one week? Also yes. Their fish patties are moist and flavorful. Can't go wrong with their poke selection, good mouthfeel, fresh fish, and flavors are delicious. The energy here is fast paced and all the workers are kind/ answer questions. Will definitely be trying more tastes from here.

I'm not sure if I like so much merchandise from other businesses attracting us while waiting in line. The space is already small. The ambiance could be improved by downsizing on local merchandise. We are standing in line to purchase poke not other stuff. Consider refreshing that space. Service has always been good.

Its feels like eating at your friend's grandma's house, will this is how I feel, home comfort food vibe whenever I grab take out or dine in. Camille's Hawaiian Food is tucked all the way in Waipahu at Westgate Center, there are many shops here and it blends in but look for the wooden board out front with the daily specials. The prices at Camille's are reasonable and the portions size are great too, you really get bangs for your bucks here. I like they have the options of mini and regular plates. I've been here a total of 3 times, first time we tried the Hawaiian food, got take out, and most recently dined in and luckily we got some entertainment. We enjoyed the Hawaiian food, but I have to give credit to the other local foods we tried so far I got the pork chops with mushroom, garlic shrimp, crack chicken and smoked meat fried rice. Everything was tasty, really enjoyed it but just the crack chicken may be on the sweeter side, I would request for light sauce. The macaroni salad was fire! Rice cooked perfectly! There are many goodies in the fridge, pistachio cake, Ho'i'o salad, dried Aku, Opelu, Smoke Marlin, pickle onions, smoke tako, dried shrimp, drinks, and even Dubai chocolates! There are T-shirts, snacks, candies, chips for sale in front of cashier and towards the back of store. I love the color green and had to get a slice of pistachio cake, ($5.) what a treat, its been awhile since I last had pistachio cake. It was a huge slice, shared w/the hubby. It was yummy, so refreshing and moist. When I had my last bite, it got a little too sweet means I need to stop eating. hehe. Check out Camille's, support local. It had this weird watery taste, didn't see any squid and not much coconut milk. Pan was tossed. Rice: This is a no brainer since we are in Hawaii, unfortunately some of the rice was hard and brown at the top (looked like it was scraped from the bottom of the pot) Macaroni Salad: Very bland, had to add salt Kalua Pig: Taste was good (only winner) Smoked Meat: Only my husband liked it Chicken Long Rice: Another huge disappointment, it was really soupy, basically more liquid than noodles and chicken Hoio Salad: Some of the fern shoots were so tough and I found myself spitting them out Overall: For the price we paid, this was NOT worth it and we felt embarrassed for our guests. Back to Laverne's we go. You know that saying: If ain't broke don't try and fix it.

Cheeseburger (3/5): Apparently one of their popular items, but it didn't stand out much to me.
