2 Proteins Build Your Own Poke Bowl
    Lee L.

We recently moved to this area, and I am thrilled to know how close we live to Poke Falls. I ordered a poke bowl with 2 scoops of protein. It was absolutely delicious. I added some items to my bowl which aren't readily available at other poke establishments I have been to. The crab salad and the sushi rice were a wonderful addition to my bowl. I love the ordering system... filling out an order sheet, handing it over and receiving a bowl promptly. The restaurant is clean. The service is speedy. Their prices are reasonable. The quality of the food is exceptional. I highly recommend Poke Falls!

Second time I've been here. It's a small restaurant, it has a few tables to sit and some high top. You can fill out a paper and put all the topping you like for you poke bowl. Today they were busy, but there were really fast in serving everybody. I didn't order anything else beside the bowl, but they have more options. It worth to try, their poke is really good. They don't have the tempura shrimp, one of my favorite toppings. 2 proteins around $12 and 3 proteins around $14.

This place sometimes hit the spot when I'm on the go and I am craving something sushi-ish. Just like most other poke bowl places, this location serves its purpose with many choices to add to your poke bowl including, but not limited to your choice of raw tuna, salmon, shrimp, chicken, etc. a vegetable, or a rice, base, and toppings. I grab a bite to eat from here every now and again when I'm running errands in this area. I used them a lot during the pandemic era when there was protective plastic everywhere and no seating. I don't go here as often, but still in consideration whenever I'm in the mood. Good stuff!

My poke bowl creation with brown rice as the base

Today was my 2nd visit. I needed to go back and try it again. The first time I made my own creation with 2 proteins (tuna and salmon) on a base of brown rice. The brown rice was nice and warm, and all the ingredients I chose blended well together except for my choice of sauce. I wasn't too thrilled with the poké point sauce. There was a bitter aftertaste which I'm pretty sure was the sauce. Everything else tasted great. Everything was fresh. I prefer sliced avocado rather than a scoop of cubed avocado, but it still tasted fresh. So, flash forward to today. I was super happy with the wild salmon bowl. This time I chose salad instead of rice as the base. I substituted the sweet onion with mango. The sauce that comes with the wild salmon bowl is the yuzu wasabi. It was the perfect combination for me. I devoured it for dinner. I think I found my new favorite bowl combination and sauce. Poké Falls has so many different toppings and I may experiment some more. I also like the fact that you can make it a sushi burrito instead of a bowl. I've seen pictures of the wild salmon burrito and it looks amazing. The restaurant is very clean. The staff members are super nice. They have a "BUY 10 GET 1 FREE" stamp card. They have quite a large drink menu that consists of Coca Cola & Hawaiian Sun products, Oi Ocha, Japanese sodas, smoothies, bubble tea, and jasmine sweet tea. There are 11 different sauces. I wanted to try the creamy sesame because it's like 10 calories a serving. I think I'll ask for a sample next time. There is plenty of seating. Not a whole lot of parking spaces, but they may not need it in that plaza. It's easy to get in and out onto Brandon Blvd since there's a traffic light. I'll definitely be returning for more. I'm so happy that Brandon finally has a restaurant specializing in all things poké.

I am a bit late to the party. Apparently, this restaurant has been in Brandon for a number of years, but due to my normal commute their existence escaped my radar. I stopped in and was blown away by the quality to speed ratio. I am sure this will become a Brandon treasure. The only recommendation I would make to the owner is to keep the place much colder to mask the strong fish odor.

I came here on a Monday late afternoon around 4pm, and there was no line. The owner is taking precaution with Covid and has a huge plastic tarp surrounding the register and food station where she is at. I ordered a Poke bowl and on the menu on the wall it states you can choose 2 or 3 proteins. I chose the 2 protein option and wanted Spicy Salmon and Tuna. I checked off my list with those two proteins however when I was eating my bowl, she only gave me one protein which was tuna, that was disappointing. I was going to tell her I got only one protein but I hesitated. I had lots of toppings and sauces in my bowl but it was still pretty bland. There's a couple of tables to sit and eat inside and they were both not clean, so I grabbed the napkin and wiped a table myself to sit and eat at. Overall, l probably won't come back, unless I come to try the sushi burrito.

Just got back from Hawaii and craved a poke bowl. Found this place on google, and am so happy I did. This place is amazing! Fresh fish and toppings. I got a personalized bowl with ahi, shrimp, edamame, carrots and crab salad. Will definitely be coming back!

I obsessed with the location on West Hillsborough and was so happy to hear a Brandon location recently opened. It's super clean, great service and the bowl are huge. Most importantly, the ingredient consistency is there across both locations. Highly suggest. I love this place and so happy they have several locations. They had plenty parking right upfront when I came around 7pm.

If I could put less that one I would. I ordered a to go meal. Spicy tuna & spicy salmon. No where on the ingredients does it say that their spicy tuna & salmon are lathered in mayo with a speck of hot sauce. I'm allergic & I can't eat it. In the trash it goes. I've never had this happen when I ordered a spicy tuna or salmon. Spicy means hot sauce, not mayo. That's disgusting & annoying. Worst $20 I've ever spent

First of all, I'm really glad that Brandon is finally acquiring more businesses that have diverse food options for dinner and that we don't have to drive to Tampa just to get poké bowls. We came to Poké falls during dinner (5-6 pm) on a Friday night, and there were only a few people in the place. It's in the small strip where the Krispy Kreme is, and there is not a lot of parking space, though I don't think it is necessary because all the stores are not really ones people will stay a long time at (except for maybe the puppy store, we actually stopped by to pet them). There were around three tables that had seating for four people, and a bar that probably could seat 6-8. If this place gets busy as more people discover it there may not be enough space. I made my own bowl, had spicy salmon and ahi tuna on white rice with my preferred toppings and yuzu wasabi sauce. The flavor blend was nice, and I was impressed that the spicy salmon was actually spicy, as this is not always the case in some of the poké places I've been to. That being said, my boyfriend had spicy chicken and when I tried it, I didn't really taste the heat. The sauce was a bit thinner than I would have liked, and I felt like my bowl did not have enough sauce because due to the consistency, it just got absorbed by the white rice underneath. The proportions were pretty good, and they were very generous with the toppings. There were a lot of topping options, which is very nice. This will be our go-to place for poké bowls now as we live nearby, and I'm excited to try their other sauces next time.

The first time I came here it was for dinner and I was quite impressed with this place. You can tell when you walk in that this place didn't switch too much of the aesthetics over from when the building was a subway. I also think they need to add a few more tables and chairs as there is ample room for seating but few actual seats (though they did just open so that may change soon). As for the food, it was a nice change of pace for the Brandon area that is mostly limited to generic chain restaurants. I had them make my own bowl with spicy chicken. They held off on the spice on the chicken but still gave it a nice bit of flavor to it. My only real complaint is that I felt that the sauce was a little thin. I definitely intended to return here next time to try out the burrito poke but most likely for lunch.

I ordered the Pew Pew Shrimp - similar to a bang bang shrimp. The Heft - I love the texture of the scallion pancake and combo with the meat. It has a slight spice kick but not much. The Hangry Hawaiian - pineapple and roasted pork on this burger in addition to the burger patty. They also put jalapeños which I said no to. Haupia Pie - sweet potato like dessert with a crust and on top is a solid cream coconut layer. Texture is different. I loved it! Coco Loco ice cream - super creamy pina colada ice cream. My faves in order were: 1. Coco Loco ice cream 2. The Heft 3. Haupia pie 4. Pew Pew Shrimp 5. The Hangry Hawaiian burger Don't get me wrong! Every thing was excellent!! The owners were absolutely awesome!! Super welcoming and helpful and considerate of my time. They had tons of orders and were quite busy. I waited about 40 minutes. I would order ahead of time next time. Next time and there will be a next time, I want to get their Kilauea nachos, xxl ramen chicken, Haupia pie(which Haupia is a Japanese sweet potato - similar to Ube, a Filipino sweet potato used for desserts), coco loco ice cream(think super creamy pina colada ice cream) & scallion pancakes. I'm a chronic over orderer and usually end up with a ton of leftovers. This time, however, as I sit here mouth breathing trying to muster another bite, I can't bring myself to packing the food up later. Its just too good! Hawaiian spring rolls have a perfectly crisp shell, filled with faintly smokey pork. The pork has a familiar taste, with a delicious pacific island flair. The HEFTT is option you can feel good about eating. The rice, beef, scallion pancake and sauce will leave you satisfied without feeling like you need to avoid food and spend the next week in the gym. The wings are awesome! Crisp, tender, juicy, fall off the bone kinda perfect. No extra sauces needed; eat as they are. Mild kick. The Hangry Hawaiian is the best burger I have had in a really long time! And I am always on the lookout for great burgers. I had beef, topped with pork, bacon, jalepenos and pineapple. Its an amazing combo of balanced, sweet heat. I loved it! (The fries were also really good) The haupia was a sweet, unexpected addition also. Its a buttery, graham cracker crust, layered with sweetened, purple sweet potato, the another layer of a coconut milk pudding. Places like this is the reason why I prefer food trucks and mom & pop spots over chains and big names. Happy Ending Food Truck lived up to its name. Good people, great food, big flavors! I will definitely be back for more!

One of the main ingredients in this cheesy skillet of goodness is pepperoni. My husband asked that the chef leave that ingredient out of the recipe due to my recipe allergy reaction. The waiter was super apologetic and wrapped it a carry home container and reordered a new one. We were so full from the soft, tasty bread, that we didn't touch the appetizer. For dinner, I ordered the most divine homemade pasta and beef rib dish. Whoever was back there cooking the dish, you have amazing taste, talent, and skill. My husband ordered the stuffed shrimp and beef fat potatoes. The shrimp were jumbo and filled with a hearty breading that was packed with flavor. The potatoes were rich in flavor and had a buttery texture. He would definitely order this dish again! Our server went out of his way to refill our drinks and attend to everything we were requesting.
