Is Parking easy?

There is a small lot attached to our building off Adams St that has space occasionally. There is also a parking garage just across University Ave that has spaces, as well as on street parking. All parking in our area is paid. Avoid the lot across…

After having a negative experience with an eye doctor at one of the large chains, I asked my…read morefriends which optomitrist they would recommend in the Syracuse area. Krzyzak Eyecare was recommended more than anyone else, so I decided to give them a try, and I'm very happy that I did. It did take a few months to get in there initially, so if you are reading this and thinking about schedueling an appointment, plan accordingly. While I usually hate waiting, I considered this to be a good sign that people are happy here and that I was making a good choice. For my exam, I met with Dr. Michael Krzyzak, who I felt was very personable and did an excellent job explaining what he was doing and what the best options were for my situation. After the exam I met with the absolutely wonderful Alicia, who helped me pick out my new frames and was very thorough in making sure that she had the perfect measurements for my new progressive lenses. When someone knows what they are doing like she did, it adds a whole new level of value to buying your glasses in house, rather than online. And when I came back to pick up my new glasses, she made me feel like a VIP even though I am new to the practice. The whole experience was everything that I could have asked for and I'm so grateful to have found an eyecare team that I have complete confidence in and will now stick with.

I have been here twice. The first visit was with Dr Wells and the second with Michael Krzyzak. Both…read morevisits were a great experience. Both doctors took the time to explain things so that I understood my eyes, issues, etc... versus my prior eye doctor who would say, "you have astigmatism". With no further explanation. I appreciated the time spent with me and taken to confirm that I had no further questions. I did not feel rushed at any time. The optician who assisted with my contacts was also very nice and patient - if you haven't worn contacts, what a task learning to put them in and out! You've been warned! She was encouraging and never made me feel rushed. They've got a new patient to add to their roster and I would encourage anyone I know to go there too.

After living in the area for 2.5 years now, I decided it was time to find a dentist and an eye…read moredoctor. First up, eye doctor. Anyone who knows me, knows I have an intense fear of the eye doctor, as I simply cannot stand the idea of anyone putting anything in or near my eye. Enter a whole lot of anxiety.... I saw a commercial for Malara Eye Care, but also was given positive reviews by a few friends, so I figured I would try it out. As a new patient, they were able to schedule an appointment very quickly, and when I arrived for my first appointment, they were all very welcoming and kind. My wait was very brief, and Dr. Malara was thorough in his exam, as was his staff. They noted my anxiety and assured me that I would not deal with that "puff of air" or any eye drops, and gave me an alternative option to having my eyes dilated. WIN!!!!! I left with 20/50 vision, new contacts and a new set of glasses, but most importantly, I have no fears about the next time I will have to go back.

I was not happy with the doctor assigned to me. He couldn't figure out my prescription after many…read morevisits. I use torics xr for astigmatism and still seeing blurry from my right eye. Doctor has no people skills whatsoever!! He decided to keep my old prescription instead of figuring out a new one. Absurd!!! Not to mention I paid a lot of money to just have my prescription stay the same because he could not come up with a new one. Total waste of my time and money!! After all, I still had to go to a new doctor to get an accurate prescription for my eyes.

This is a very different kind of practice review!…read more 1) First of all, it has stood the test of time -- my opinions have not changed, other than to reflect the positive movement over time as I have adjusted to bi-lateral cataract surgery. You might take some significant positivity from the simple fact that after slightly more than a year from my last visit to the office, I remember the people's names below. 2) I happen to be DEAF -- this means that my EYES are significantly more important to me than they are for hearing people. I NEVER TAKE THEM FOR GRANTED! Any impairment of my eyesight has a super major impact upon my life and my abilities to react with the world around me. My eyes ARE my ears also!! 3) In general, this practice distinguishes itself from others, including hospital based practices, for exceptionally strong, people oriented, very friendly and genuinely caring STAFF! Lets start with the font desk, LAURA -- she's a gem! The paperwork can be confusing, she takes care of ANY problems so that they never crop up again! She's vivacious and always had a personal comment to make the visit pleasant and actually enjoyable. Allen -- he's definitely a plus on the office and technical side of the practice! He manages very complex scheduling needs, and manages to rearrange appointments when sudden impact events require changes!! He's also very adept with some of the technical testing machines as well!! He's a very positive guy. Sam -- he's the chief technician in the office. Sam manages to be super efficient, while being genuinely friendly and open and encourages engagement with his patients. Never fear asking Sam questions! If he cannot answer, he certainly knows who can -- and I suspect he tips 'em off because these others lead their arrival in the exam room with the answers!! This is a major plus for the practice! Amanda -- she's a part of the technical staff, and closing in on Allen and Sam in terms of her abilities. The medical staff I interacted with were Drs. Stewart, Dexter and Heater: Dr. Stewart is a world renown eye surgeon famous for his work with Lions International, the group that referred me to Eye Surgeons of CNY when another practice seriously dropped the ball. This is one busy physician!! Still, he found the time to meet me during my first visit and got to know me a bit -- which honestly, was not expected! It DEFINITELY was appreciated! Dr. Dexter is the most active surgeon in the practice. He's friendly, engaging, and actually manages to remember personal details from conversations not part of the patient chart!! Outstanding!! This man is tops in his field -- and gave me corrections BETTER than 20/20 which have held. I'm in awe of what I can see, which is significantly better than I had been expecting. Dr. Heater is the practice's Doctor of Optometry. She participates in the pre and post surgical evaluations. Dr. Heater is vivacious, efficient, and very effective with what she does!

I had Laser Cataract Surgery and paid $3100.00 extra for the best lense on the market. It has been 10 days since my surgery and I do not need my glasses except for very small print. I am very happy with the results and would definitely recommend Dr Dexter and his staff to help you with your eye problems.
