We ordered 9 mixed drinks, TWO beers, and a bottle of water. All of the mixed drinks came out, no prob. We had to wait about 30 minutes for the water and ONE beer. After telling the server repeatedly that we're missing a beer, I finally got it after another 15 min. So we finished our drinks and decided to leave. We check the bill and we were charged for THREE beers total. We explain we only ordered two so the bill was modified. Total bill equals about $150. After leaving a generous $20 tip and signing for a total of $170, we leave. Fast forward a few days later when the charge posts to my account with the tip.. a total of $180 is processed. So they fraudulently gave themselves an extra tip that I did not sign for. I've tried contacting them, but of course no response. So be forewarned, Point and Feather will rob you. Went for st pattys day and bartenders told us they would be fired if they gave us water. They made us buy water bottles and they only offered Fiji water making it like $8 a bottle. They ran out of seltzers quickly, so people were given the choice of beer or liquor, so to not offer free water to people is very irresponsible and frustrating. Bartenders also would skip over taking certain people's orders and were very rude. One of the worst experiences I've had at any establishment, and I didn't even make it inside. I'm not sure who we were met with at the front door (manager/owner?) but he was extremely rude and demeaning to me and my friends. We were taking part of a St. Patrick's Day bar crawl and decided to stop by Point and Feather because it was on the list provided to us by the bar crawl we bought tickets for. Not only was Point and Feather on the list, with times listed for when we could visit, but there were also drink specials listed for this specific bar. We were instructed by not one, but two, bouncers that our wristbands were valid and we would get in. We waited in line and when we got up to the front, we were told by the owner/manager (?) that we would not be let in unless we paid $20 each. We showed him our wristbands (which should get us in free-according to the bar crawl) and he said they don't take those wristbands. We showed him our bar crawl list that had "Point and Feather" on it and the owner/manager disregarded it and said we could only get in if we paid. He then tried to let just us girls in but make the guys we were with pay $40 each. The owner/manager refused to hear us out, even though we were calm and just wanted our confusion about the situation to be cleared up. He was extremely disrespectful and I'm disappointed in how this was handled. I refuse to give my business to this establishment in the future. Came here for a work happy hour event, great spot for this! We made a reservation for 10 people and were able to get a little loungey area. I loved that we had free darts to play and could sit comfortably! We ordered a bunch of apps and had drinks - we were here for their actual happy hour on a Wednesday night which ended at 7pm. Wine and beer on special and half off appetizers! We took full advantage. the hummus was great but didn't come with enough pita bread for sharing. The wings and nachos were great to share. Looking for a outdoor happy hour the other week, we stumbled onto Point & Feather. We're glad we did. Their happy hour was quite good - drinks and appetizer specials thru 7 pm. This review is for drinks only - we didn't order food. But this is a cool spot! I'm not usually a big fan of Hubbard street bars but I would definitely return to Point & Feather. Firstly, it wasn't too busy so we were able to get on the dart boards, and later the pool table also opened up. Even though our group started spreading out from the table to play games, our waitress was very accommodating. She shared with us happy hour deals right off the bat and our drinks always came out quickly. I tried the Alma Violeta ($12), which was served in a beautiful glass that matched the decor. Was very excited to try this joint located in the former Mercer space. A group that I volunteer with decided to have its holiday party here and I was like cool. Got there early as I wasn't sure if food was included in our package and to check the place out before the group got there. As I walked in the hostess just looked dazed and confused and didn't say a word to me even though I gave her a smile and nod (training may be needed) as I proceeded to bar to the right. Grabbed a seat at the end of the bar closer to where my group would be celebrating. The girl behind the bar had a similar look (dazed and confused) as I grabbed a seat and said hey, how are you. As I sat down and took a look around, I noticed the lions on the wall in edition to the old books as you were in an old school library...pretty nice. Christmas decorations were in effect as well as tis the season. As I looked at the menu, I noticed the southern fried chicken sandwich which sounded pretty good. I asked the girl behind the bar how big was the sandwich and the response I got was "eeem its a thing, I'm not sure". I don't know..Im used to going to a bar/restaurant and getting a proper response as to what size a sandwich is or asking one of your peers the question (trainable moment). I didn't want to risk it being too big, so I went with the Louisville BBQ wings which was delicious. She did ask me if I wanted bleu cheese or ranch so I'll give her that, but didn't have much more to say to me the rest of my time at the bar. She did in fact complain to her fellow comrades that came to visit her area about another customer further down the bar...I almost wanted to chime in to say, hey I can hear y'all lol. I won't give her name (its on my receipt) but this place obviously needs to train some of its waitstaff. I left her 20% anyways...insert hunched shoulder emoji. Once my group got there, we had a ball in our area and let me give a shout out to our server Sara M as she made it happen with all of our group coming and going one by one and keeping up with everyone's separate and joint orders. The drinks are fantastic as the Ojo Del Toro (tequila based) and the Smoke on The Water (mezcal based) were very good. The dart games were fine except the boards are a bit sensitive as it kept giving points to areas where you touched with your hand while trying to pull the dart out of the board. Overall this place is ok, but it falls into that lets hire a buncha "cute" young girls without giving them proper customer engagement training. If the girl behind the bar would have been a bit nicer and friendlier and halfway pretended I was there, I may have drink more while at the bar, but I knew I was one and done after that "interaction". The drinks are watered down!!! I've never had tequila and been so sober... bartender also decided to tell us what we wanted to drink rather than letting us get the beers we wanted. This place can't decide what it's late night vibe is. It's loud but too bright to be very dancy, there's darts and pool tables but it's too loud to actually hear anybody around you. The music always feels off so don't expect to hear too many popular songs from this decade. It's not quite the same as Flight Club, a nearby dart bar, but in some ways it's better. The dart board and technology doesn't compare but there are no fees to or minimums to play darts. The vibe is relaxed, yet fun.... it's really what you make of it. You can throw a raging party at one dart section while the next board over is a couple on an intimate date. Service has always been great, i wish i remembered the waitress's name but i can't stress it enough, every time i go it's great service... which can be hard to find in this area with neighboring clubs and less than impressive bars like Boss Bar. Food is overall good, it's an upscale "bar food" menu. Pricing for food and drink is comparable to nearby River North bars. It's great for bigger parties too... we had a friends going away party there and they accommodated to 40 people without any drama! We're going back for my boyfriends 30th bday too... it's really a great deal if you actually care about playing darts. I also LOVE that all the walls are bookshelves filled with countless, coverless books! It's a cute touch that always keeps me interested to browse through! It's a cute concept that reminds you not to throw any judgement on books or people or dart boards... 4 stars for quality of dart game. Boards are not cork, plastic and outdated. 3 stars for the ambiance! Bars that resemble libraries have a special place in my heart. They also have darts, which makes it a unique space. It feels like an upscale bar, but without too much pretense. I wasn't crazy about the food or drinks. We ordered nachos, which was basically greasy chips and cheese; very little salsa and no beans. I mean it's nachos so it was still good, but you can get much better elsewhere. My Giuliana prosecco was subpar as well. They have happy hour specials until 7 (at least during the week, I'm not sure about the weekends). I would come back for the ambiance and to maybe try one of their cocktails. We went here last night after a concert. We had a good time. This place could be cooler thought with some upgrades. I enjoyed their cocktails. It has a neat layout with darts which is awesome. I don't understand why all the bindings are torn off the books. It looks ridiculous. Just get rid of the books. Also the saddest thing ever is to destroy a book. Two months later, customer service just decided to comment on my review, all of which actually made me more irritated with this place than I already was! (See my review and their reply below.) They said, "I will look into this...and get you set up with a reservation sometime soon." I came here for a company holiday party a few weeks back and I was pleasantly surprised! I was a little concerned about the venue after seeing the mixed reviews on here but I appreciated the opportunity to check this place out. The interior had a classy and spacious feel to it and it also had a darts/pool area. Side note for anyone who cares- the bartender didn't seem to know what a Midori sour was, which was a little disheartening but they also had a decent selection of other cocktails to choose from. read more

Terrible experience, if I could give zero stars that would be more accurate. Our friend went ahead of us and walked in without an issue. We were a few steps behind and when the rest of us got to the door the bouncer told us we needed reservations and turned us away. He proceeded to let several people in without asking the same question. Our friend who was inside came to the big open windows to see what was going on and we let her know we couldn't get in, she let us know she'd finish her drink and come out. The same bouncer rushed over, urgently moved people, tables, and chairs and very DRAMATICALLY closed the windows. The friend inside went to a bartender to ask what was going on and the bartender confirmed there were no reservations required and he didn't know why the bouncer would do that. Our group happened to have some diversity and the whole incident appeared to have been based on race which is so disappointing. While waiting for our friend to come out I watched the same bouncer let in several white people and turn away the only black man who approached the door, saying the same thing about reservations to him. This review is specific to Saturday, May 19th at 9 pm. Having lived and worked in River North for years, I have never felt so degraded and excluded in my own neighborhood. Four Asian girlfriends and I experienced what I feel was racial discrimination. The hostess lied about a "reserved" section I requested and sat us in the back, near the washrooms, during a time where it wasn't busy. My Caucasian girlfriend was on her way to meet us and asked the hostess for the same seats I had originally requested. Without any hesitation, the hostess sat her immediately. I tastefully confronted the hostess and caught her in a lie. She didn't own up to it and I then asked for the manager. She lied again, saying there wasn't a manager on site. My friend found a manager and explained what had just occurred. We stayed for a drink to give him a chance to directly apologize to me/us with regards to the situation and her behavior. Even gave him a few days to email us before writing this review. Sadly, nothing was addressed and it was swept under the rug. My friends and I frequented this establishment a number of times prior but we will no longer support a place that condones this type of discriminatory behavior and will never suggest it to clients, friends or tourists. Word-of-mouth spreads like wildfire and unfortunately, Point & Feather did a disservice to themselves. read more

Happy hour spots in River North are a dime a dozen, but still I tried Point & Feather hopeful that it'd be a new favorite. I can honestly say it will not. There are the usual hassles of the after-work crowd -- it's crowded, kind of loud, people are coming and going in the standing room and sofa sections so it's a bit chaotic, but the service was still good. HOWEVER, the prices here are above and beyond what anyone else in the area is charging. Waitress went over specials, I asked for a glass of Pinot Grigio, and then found out it's $16. $16?!? For one glass of wine?! You can go to a 4-star restaurant and get a better deal than that. Looking at their current menu available online, the prices have gone down a bit, but I was disappointed with the menu and feel like there are better options elsewhere. read more

I have no intentions of ever visiting again. I had dinner with two friends on a Wednesday night around 5:30pm. My two friends arrived a little before me and had ordered drinks and when they were delivered to the table I placed an order for mine. At the same time I ordered my drink we also ordered food - good move because I don't know if we would have ever been able to order. Right after I ordered my very simple drink - cider - our waitress immediately went and took the drink order of the guys right behind us. Totally cool. The problem...They get their drinks immediately and mine never came. The waitress disappeared for at least 25 minutes. When she finally came back we told her that my drink never came and she said she would check on it, but at that point I didn't even want it since we weren't planning on sticking around for awhile. The food came quickly - thank god it is served by a different person than the waitress, because we were just about finished when she finally came over to check on us. My coworkers and I were out for a company happy hour, and we decided to stop in to Point & Feather since none of us had been before. It was a Monday night, so there was not many people there, and we were escorted to an area with one dart board...which was not ideal since we were a group of 8. I was very confused as to why they wouldn't just give us 2 boards since the place was basically empty. Thankfully, the couple playing next to us offered to move so we could have the other board, which was extremely nice of them. We began playing and ordering drinks. Our waitress had an extremely bad attitude, and was sparsely seen throughout our time there, which again, I found odd since there wasn't really anyone there. The food and drinks were very good though. The part that really made me never want to return, ESPECIALLY on a weekend, was the fact that on a dead Monday night, EVERY SINGLE bathroom stall was out of toilet paper. To me, that is completely unacceptable. Thankfully, they had a bunch of rolls stacked on the bathroom counter (also very tacky). I went and told the hostess at the front desk, who was sitting on her phone, that every stall was out, but when I returned to the bathroom a while later, there was still no toilet paper. The fact that I let an employee know, and still nothing was done is just not good. I tried looking around for someone who resembled a manager to let them know, but I couldn't seem to find one. Randomly stopped here on a Friday night and I must say I really liked it. It wasn't overly crowded and it wasn't packed with a bunch of douchebags or Bro's. We got there at around 11ish and sat at the bar. Bartender was super friendly and fast! Drinks were great and it wasn't LOUD where you couldn't hear each other's conversation. Decent spot. It's a pretty large space. I like the vibe and decor, feels like you're in a library or a den. Lots of books and shelves with things all around. Service is decent here, I think it really depends on the night. This place is super packed on the weekends, so if you're going with a group without a reservation, don't expect to find an open seat anywhere. This spot is a bit more laid back in comparison to some of the clubbier spots surrounding it. I'd come here again on a weekday, weekends are just too chaotic. I'd like to see a new cocktail menu here. If they change up their drinks and have something on the menu that stands out, I'd be more likely to pop in here more often. read more

I had e-mailed P&F about our group of 10 reserving a spot for darts on a Thursday evening. The GM sent me a note back and asked for me to call him. He said he'd square us away with a space for darts and drinks. He did not disappoint! We had a semi-private space with a dart board and tables. Our waitress was attentive and kept our drinks filled. The music was very dance-able. And then there was a magician. Yes, a magician. Who was FREAKING AMAZING. He pulled a dove out of thin air! IN A BAR. He had an X appear on someone's hand across the space from where he was doing his tricks. Mind - blown. Thank you to the manager for reserving our space. My new favorite place, last week I attended a work event, a girls night and a friends reunion back to back 3 nights in a row. I absolutely loved it each time, this place has beautiful ambiance, loved the free painting on the wall. Darts is my new favorite game, I'm sure I'll be back again! The highlight of this place is that the paintings on the wall are absolutely gorgeous. The color scheme and décor is nice but the details are a bit sloppy- some of the dartboard images are just blown up images with poor resolution and the finish on the edges of the bar countertops are rough. Maybe I'm being nit-picky but what else is there to do when the bar service is a bit slow? Apparently when we went on Saturday night, they had some sort of private event going on- although the area wasn't sectioned off and there was no signage indicating anything- and we waited for our turn at the bar to be denied drinks because we didn't have wristbands. A bit disappointing. When we finally did get drinks, they were inconsistent. My friend ordered a basic cocktail drink twice and got a completely different drink each time. We were fortunate to have been able to claim the pool table.
