    Spicy Margarita

Happy Hour prices are good. Was at the venue for a special event that took place on the second floor. We were really early so ventured to the bar for some $5 you call its. We ended up getting Spicy Margarita, Whisky Cocktail and a few shots. Spent only $22 bucks. Downgraded to 4 stars as the bar staff were not very inviting. They seemed distracted and I seen more staff fill up their cups of water/soda than attempt to serve us. It was quite a contrast of hospitality from the private event upstairs. Maybe it was an off day but I would try again for those prices.

Great food. Nice, spacious bar/restaurant. Sat by front where it was open air. Beautiful day. Bar stools/chairs - super uncomfortable and sink when you sit in them. Service was less than ideal. There was hardly anyone there and the person waiting on us was mostly sitting on her phone in the back. It was like an act of God to just get the check. The margarita pizza was on point though!!! Food is good - maybe better to pick up for takeout?

Terrible I visited a ma restaurant where the buffalo sauce s had hair in it. Moments later, my stomach declared war, I sprinted to the bathroom, and the explosive aftermath was so gnarly it cracked the toilet

    Hot Wings

Came here for a Yelp event but decided to order some wings as we were hungry and got there early. The host was kind and the waiter was nice as he helped us get our food delivered upstairs (as that was where the event was) so we can go up and get started. The wings were tasty and had a good amount of meat. The ranch was also good. I will say their menu is a bit pricey but for the location that makes sense. It's a pretty nice sized bar and their upstairs is super cute!

    Chicken and waffles

This was my first visit 7.3.26. The host was very nice and accommodating. She made sure my table was cleaned and ready for me to be seated. The waitress (do they use this word anymore) who took my order was also nice. I originally wanted the appetizer, I believe it is called potato chip tenders. They were sold out. I opted for the chicken and waffles. I was hungry and although the concept of dipping chicken breast and waffle batter and frying it is creative...it did not taste good. The seasoning of the chicken was absent. The presentation was nice and it was warm but it was not appetizing. The waitress understood my concerns and accommodated me accordingly without having to ask. I did order some fries to go...those fries were definitely good. I would've given 4 but the food knocked that off the board. The place was full but not where people were standing around which I appreciated. I was the only person of color aside from the host as the time I was there. May either say a lot about the place or maybe it was due to the flaming temperature outside. I would come back because the experience was not horrible I would just try something different on the menu.

We had our company holiday after party here. We came fashionably late and we welcomed with some rowdy karaoke set up on two big screens and some slightly tipsy coworkers. Everyone was having a great time. It was open bar and catered. I had a beer but my better half knocked it off the table so I went with a house red with a firm grasp on it. We enjoyed dancing along to my coworkers singing their hearts of and kept up appearances I have introductions to the people I work closely with. The turn out was great. You could hear the joyous occasion from the street. We were served small bites with two types of flatbread pizza and some spicy fried chicken sliders. Good times! Fun spot!

Amazing bar with strong drinkers and tasty food, enjoy a great view of Chicago while listening to billboard top 40 records, The service was friendly professional and very helpful throughout the night, lots of cool and shiny things to keep your eyes glancing the room, definitely visit here

Completely loved our time at Hopsmith. We didn't plan on coming but selected by random a bar to walk into on division street and this turned out to be super fun! The bar was easy to snag a spot and the bartender was nice and attentive. We ordered a few different mixed cocktails and beers and later on some chicken strips - super good by my account. Well any food late at night is good. The dance floor upstairs was super fun and the crowd was very friendly. Would for sure recommend to friends looking for a fun bar to go out to while in Chicago!

Looking…read morefor a place that's not going to break your pocketbook, but still has excellent food ideas and executes the flavors well with quality ingrediets? Then look no further! My girlfriend and I were really bummed that I had driven all the way from Milwaukee to see a show only for it to be canceled 10 minutes before show time. We were getting even more irritated trying to find a place, in the west loop area, that was unique, fun, with good food at a decent price. After about 20 minutes we FINALLY settled on The VIG. My attitude changed immediately walking in and seeing the cool layout and theme while Magic Stick (50 Cent & Lil' Kim) played at a decent volume then switched to Sublime. I love an eclectic music playlist. Huge, solid, bare-wood support beams decorated with really cool led lamps that looked like they were out of a prohibition era speakeasy. The lighting was not too bright to be annoying, but not too dark where it ya can't read your menu (like so many places are nowadays)! The at on the walls was from the golden-era and really tactful pictures of pinup girls and guys. Tv's were everywhere for people to watch the Cubs beat the Nationals, and the seating was not too crammed. It was very comfortable! The staff was on top of things and very friendly and knowledgeable! Excellent descriptions and understanding of the food and drinks they serve! Good sense of humor as well which made ordering fun! The food came out promptly and well plated! The pictures are of the elote street corn deviled eggs and the Italian beef bao buns. Both were AMAZING! Well thought out dishes that perfectly mixed cultures and textures while still preserving enough individual culture of each part of the dish! That got us extremely excited to try more! The old fashioned was really good, even to my biased Wisconsin standards, and the rosé slushy was fantastic! For entrees, I got the ribeye. I will say that it is only around an inch (or less) thick, so keep that in mind if, like me, you like a medium rare to medium done steak. The char was perfect, their compound butter really was unique and added to the flavor, and the steak was still juicy enough to enjoy even though it was medium well to well done. It was still delicious and went VERY well with the potatoes it came with! The fingerling potatoes were perfectly cooked and had a light drizzle of sauce with some spiced corn kernels sprinkled around them. Truly a dish to remember, even if a tad overcooked. I did let our waitress know when she came around to ask how it was. I reassured her, when she offered to make it right, that it was still ok and that I planned on eating the whole thing so no need to do anything but give feedback to the kitchen. I know it's difficult to control the cook on a thin piece of meat like that. If you generally like medium well to well done steaks, it would have rolled your eyes back in bliss like it did to mine. My girlfriend got the The VIG burger and the Gnocchi Alla Vodka with a side of fresh cut fries. The thick and juicy burger patty itself was a little hard to taste with the cheese, sauce, and tomato. I prefer the beef patty to be the star of the show, and it just got a little lost in all of the other flavors. The texture of the patty was great, though! I could immediately tell that they don't over-mix their patty beef because it held together just enough to bite but then crumbled away nicely which made chewing easy! Next time I will ask for the sauce on the side since it was still good. The fries were fantastic. Not too crispy, not too soft...skins on and the same size as fast-food style fries. The Gnocchi was SPECTACULAR! Cooked to perfection! The sauce was well put together and plentiful, yet not overpowering! Dessert was the tiramisu which was very good! I am VERY excited hearing that a Milwaukee location is opening soon! I can't wait to try more! I'll be recommending this place to my foodie friends! Thanks, to the staff for making our night better with food, light conversation and good atmosphere!

Food was a mix: Chimichurri cauliflower: smaller portion than I expected, nothing special I'd skip this dish. Ceasar salad: dressing is very heavy on the anchovy paste, otherwise good portion and veggies. Loaded fries: huge portion with lots of great toppings, though I wish their fries were more 'fry' like versus potato skin-like. Chicken tenders: I got this with sweet potato fries, and they were way too salty. The chicken tenders were 4 skimpy pieces of chicken, and I was charged for extra dipping sauces and ketchup. The spicy mango habanero and buffalo are good - skip the garlic parmesan. I will most definitely be back for the vibes, drinks, and service. I usually don't drink on the weekdays, so I ended up just getting an iced tea and him a tequila soda, but because I don't drink, we decided to get an appetizer and we browsed the menu for a minute and ended up splitting the Parmesan chicken egg rolls. Truthfully, I really just wanted to see what that would entail because it seemed a little disgusting or maybe even some kind of high-food, but to my surprise, it was actually a really crispy skinned pizza roll. I'm pretty sure it had been previously frozen, but in that moment- served with a side of marinara, I didn't really care. It was full of gooey melted mozzarella cheese and almost like a breaded chicken nugget center. Pretty decent as far as bar food goes. They also had crab rangoon to which I thought, "hmm are they doing a little too much?!" I'm sure drunk me would have gotten them years ago so what can ya do. Overall, quite a positive experience. The bartender was really sweet and everything wasn't super expensive.
