Mark and his team installed my system back in 2018. I didn't immediately write a review as I wanted to see how well everything worked and if i had any follow-up issues how Mark responded. Then I forgot about it until now. I am very happy with the install, cost, and ongoing support. A couple of times the internet portion of the monitoring system would go down and a tech was out no later than the next day rectifying the issue. Mark right-sized my system in the most optimal location.

I did my due diligence in trying to find a local company well this company promised a lot and did not deliver. It took 8 months to finally get approved which was beyond our control. I think this company should have done there due diligence but they did not. After many emails to them, SCE and the State of California we finally got approved. Not to mention we were paying double for the loan and the SCE bill. George showed up at 1:30pm & switched out the old inverter for the new one. Everything is working great like it used to! Ivan, Scott & Jayson have been in constant contact with me about the progress of getting Tesla to ok the work. So grateful for their dedication! I definitely recommend Option One Solar! Update. To be clear I have nothing negative to say about Option One Solar, at the time I was disappointed with the outcome that seemed that I was out of luck. Scott & Ivan have been working on resolving this issue that is on Tesla's end & have been keeping me in the loop. They both have been communicating with me on the progress of my work order. I really appreciate their dedication to getting things done & finding a resolution to this issue. I will update again after this is done.

Natasha was professional and very clear with communication from the start. She set proper expectations on communication with Tesla would take a week or two. The day she received the go ahead from Tesla she called and scheduled the install asap 4 days out. Later the same day they had a cancellation and were able to get everything scheduled the next day. Anthony and Jeremiah arrived at the beginning of the arrival window! They were professional, great with communication, and ready to work. I had several questions and they were prepared for all of them and super helpful. The battery removal and install took less than an hour. Naturally Tesla's update took twice as long. LOL. Still total time was under 3 hours. I have managed 100s of installers and worked in Solar, this was a fantastic expierence! Because the Tesla 3 has more storage than the 2 I asked about adding some of my Breakers to the back-up and they had options for us to do that. Obviously we Highly Recommend This Team!

I had met with all the solar companies in Riverside County and no one was more informative or knowledgeable. I got a HUGE tax credit, didn't have to put any money down and my property value increased! They were so great and my electric bill went from 700-1,000 a month to 11 dollars. So...I decided to do my second home with them an referred them to others I know. I highly recommend them. You won't be disappointed.

Then last year we discovered a lot of damp spots appearing on our garage ceiling. Every time it rained they got worse. Each of the multiple spots just so happens to be directly under where the mounting for the solar panels were on the roof. Edmund from Modern Solar came out and basically said it wasn't his fault and had nothing to do with the panels, but they re-caulked the posts anyhow. While they were doing that, they disconnected our system. Only thing is, they didn't reconnect it again. So a month or two later we received a couple of large electric bills. Obviously the first thing we did was check the system and discovered it was off. We turned it back on as soon as we realized. Edmund agreed to pay us back for the electric we were billed for. After a number of emails and calls, still no refund. We had 4 professional independent roofers come out to check the work. They ALL agreed that the panel posts had been attached incorrectly with the wrong sealant. Edmund said they didn't know what they were talking about. I guess he's more knowledgeable than a professional roofer, four of them. He refuses to admit his work was at fault, when it's plain to see how the water is getting in. The damps spots are all perfectly aligned with the posts on the roof. Couldn't be any more clear! And FOUR PROFESSIONAL ROOFERS have verified this!! Edmund tried to convince us that rain was probably getting in from over on the opposite side of the roof and dribbling along beams and dropping off above the garage ceiling. And th We understand that you should have your solar systems checked every now and then, and serviced if need be, but the fact of the matter is that Modern Solar used the wrong product from day 1, it has been letting in water, and now it needs to be removed and done properly. So that was almost a year ago now and still no compensation, no apology, nothing. We had eventually just said "ok, just pay us for the electricity we were charged for due to you turning off our system and we'll call it quits" (even though we still need to pay to have the posts re-sealed correctly and the ceiling repainted. But he is now totally ignoring us. Be careful of this guy, he thinks very highly of himself and won't admit he's at fault if anything goes wrong with your system. Our next step will be the small claims court. This could've been taken care of so easily.

We were fortunate to have Ruben G. as our Account Manager.  Ruben was professional, pleasant and knowledgeable -- carefully listening to my questions and concerns and also sharing knowledge so I could better understand the phases of installation. Throughout the entire process - from design to permits, documentation to electrical requirements, we communicated with the various SolarMax team members to make sure we understood what the next steps would be. Every team member was courteous and competent, all of them did their part to complete our solar panel and battery project. We are happy with the service and expertise SolarMax has provided us and would recommend them to friends who are considering solar energy.  To Ruben - our renewed thanks!  We appreciate you for your work. To the entire SolarMax team - thank you for making this happen!

I've been going back and forth with them for well over five weeks to get it resolved. They've said the company that manufactured my panels (apparently an in-house brand that is no longer operating) is out of business, so they've been "trying to secure panels with the proper wattage" for over a month. No update as of today. It's really frustrating that I have these problems, a warranty to cover it, and it's not being taken care of in a timely fashion. Between a pool, an EV and five humans in my house, those 10 panels do a lot of the work, and now I'm just eating the cost. I have expressed that I'm frustrated (especially because they never call me--I have to follow-up weekly to get them to talk to me), but it just seems like they care to do anything about it. It's just a "we're still waiting". Make some calls, secure the pipeline for the panels, and replace my panels, please. Next step if we cannot move forward in the coming week will be the better business bureau.
