He was so thorough and showed us pricing for various things they recommended vs. fixing the bare minimum. I liked the thorough break down. While he was here I had him look at a loose outlet I'd had issues with since I had bought my home. I had another electrician come out and look at it before and he is the one that left it loose. The prior electrician couldn't figure out why the bottom socket didn't work. Mike looked it over for maybe five seconds max and knew what caused the issue instantly. After their inspection, they told me the solution was to replace my entire breaker box, which had just recently been upgraded. Their estimate was over $10,000 and they said it would "possibly" fix the problem. That didn't sit right with me, so I decided to get a second opinion. Enter Travis from Zero Dark Knights Electrical. Within about two hours, Travis carefully diagnosed the real problem: a small issue with an outlet where the ground wire was not connecting properly, which was causing the electrical failure to multiple rooms. Instead of recommending unnecessary work, he pinpointed the exact issue and fixed it quickly at a very reasonable rate. Travis was polite, friendly, efficient, and clearly takes pride in his work. After that, I had to keep pushing to get the opening properly protected. In our text messages, it appeared Alex was reluctant to come back, and when he finally did, I was charged **$225** for a very short visit (roughly minutes) to re-secure tarp/weatherproofing. In my opinion, that charge felt inflated for the limited work, but at that point my priority was protecting my property from rain, not arguing. My concern was never whether they *eventually* answered calls, it was that I had to repeatedly chase updates and basic documentation and I received inconsistent explanations about permit status along the way. Also, photos showing a "clean" stucco cut do not address the actual customer-impact issues: the opening being left exposed for almost 2 weeks, interior drywall/dust impact, lack of a clear walkthrough, and cleanup left behind. My review is not about whether the lights came back on (they did). It's about the unnecessary stress, poor communication, and how a paying customer was treated throughout the process.
