While he was here I had him look at a loose outlet I'd had issues with since I had bought my home. I had another electrician come out and look at it before and he is the one that left it loose. The prior electrician couldn't figure out why the bottom socket didn't work. Mike looked it over for maybe five seconds max and knew what caused the issue instantly. After their inspection, they told me the solution was to replace my entire breaker box, which had just recently been upgraded. Their estimate was over $10,000 and they said it would "possibly" fix the problem. That didn't sit right with me, so I decided to get a second opinion. Enter Travis from Zero Dark Knights Electrical. Within about two hours, Travis carefully diagnosed the real problem: a small issue with an outlet where the ground wire was not connecting properly, which was causing the electrical failure to multiple rooms. Instead of recommending unnecessary work, he pinpointed the exact issue and fixed it quickly at a very reasonable rate. Travis was polite, friendly, efficient, and clearly takes pride in his work. It's rare to find someone who is both highly skilled and genuinely honest about what actually needs to be fixed. He saved me thousands of dollars and a lot of stress. (I prefer text, and given how busy he is... I'm sure he does too!) The first hour is $90, and then $65 each additional hour thereafter. Another payment option was $125 per ceiling fan, but Ron was upfront that it would be more cost effective for us to go hourly. He was correct! Ron arrived on time and took about 7.5hrs to remove 3 ceiling fans and 2 light fixtures and install 4 ceiling fans (with boxes) and 2 light fixtures. He vacuumed up after each install and laid down a drop cloth as well. SUPER CLEAN! His prices are VERY FAIR. To give an example of how we wasted money previously... we hired a handyman to switch out all our outlets, switches, and to replace 2 bathroom vanity lights. It took that guy 16hrs and cost us about $800. Ron did FAR MORE in HALF THE TIME. And it's true, TIME IS MONEY. So, while we paid a handyman $30/hr we wound up paying him more than had we gone with Ron. Lesson learned. (Total cost with Ron for this job was $554) RON IS OFFICIALLY OUR GO-TO GUY!!! I can not recommend him enough!!! And the real kicker, he's nice! He's actually legit NICE! And my dog liked him.
