My original review somehow fell off, so I'm reposting to ensure others can see it. Also, noting that I tried to call the General Manager who asked me to call him in response to my reply, but the number just connects you to the main Pohanka Hyundai switchboard. There's no option to speak with the GM. Beware! Keith was kind and personable, but I left feeling disappointed and taken advantage of. I came in for a brake issue and paid over $1,051 for brake pads, rotor work, and an oil change on a 2016 Tucson -- with $697 in labor alone, higher than what friends pay at BMW dealerships. My invoice describes rear rotor replacement but no rotor part number appears anywhere on my paperwork, leaving me uncertain whether that work was actually performed. I was also steered toward starting a warranty claim process that I'm likely ineligible for as a second owner -- something that should have been disclosed before I went down that path. I trusted my Hyundai dealer to treat me fairly. Instead I felt upsold at every turn and unclear about what I actually paid for. I won't be back. read more

Paid $1.3K to "fix" engine light issues, engine light still on and left the dealership with no solution because they couldn't figure out how to resolve it. Service representative was great, however services actually rendered did not resolve my engine light issue, which is still on by the way. No loaner car option after repeatedly keeping the vehicle in a two week span of "diagnostics and figuring out the problem". The least you could do was provide one, especially if you wanted to convince me to upgrade. I would've actually purchased a newer car, had I been taken care of a customer. This leaves me a as a Hyundai customer having to go to another dealership and having to pay to figure out the issue. This location did not go out their way to ensure that I left with a solution, even after paying for services. Highly disappointed but not surprised. I will be upgrading my vehicle at a different location. The time yall spend trying to flirt and look at women, you should be spending it on how to make sure the problem is resolved read more

Came in to try and test drive a 2025 Elantra N. For many people who don't know, this isn't your typical Korean car. This is an N-performance machine. Between this car and the Civic Type-R, the Elantra N had my eye. And Pohanka Hyundai were the ONLY ones to have them in stock within my area. When I asked about a test drive, the salesperson told me I could only test drive the car if I had an online offer or check in hand for at least a down payment that day. That I would have to look the manager in his eyes that I "meant business" on buying the car. He said that since it's a "rare vehicle," they can't just let anyone test it due to potential mileage devaluation -- even a short 5-7 mile drive would supposedly hurt the car's retail value and its internals they've mentioned. I'm aware of driving a car off the lot hurts its value immensely, but never for a test drive. They offered a regular Elantra or N-Line to test instead, but obviously that's not the same driving experience. They brought another guy, Charlie B., over who went on about someone recently hearing the engine after test driving it a few feet, and buying the car right after. I explained that I just wanted to responsibly test the drive modes, see how it felt, and wasn't trying to joyride -- just make an informed decision. I'm 22, so maybe they didn't take me seriously, but the whole situation felt off and uncomfortable. Other salespeople even started eavesdropping in on the conversation. I understand that dealers are trying to make money, especially during this time. If I can't test drive the car, fine. I'll wait till it's right for me to actually have the cash to buy one. But this situation felt odd. I'm new to understanding dealers, and have researched everything about this car to know its limits and what I probably shouldn't try during the test drive. I've owned two Elantras in the past. A 2003 Elantra I currently own, and a 2017 Elantra that was stolen. I even own a YouTube channeled called "ElantraMan" documenting my journey with these vehicles. Hyundai Corporate has personally called me regarding documenting the story of my stolen vehicle in hopes of resolution. After the theft, I worked and developed an application called "StoleMyKia" to helping victims report their stolen vehicles, in hopes of community engagement of locating them. That application has gotten me into two large internships, and even pitched towards Hyundai for better improving the security in these cars. Their responsiveness and speed to complete the service was much much better than another Maryland Hyundai dealer we tried for a different issue a year ago. Their video providing a diagnosis of the issues and the other tech features made the repair experience easier. The person we worked with named Will Bishop made every effort to help which made it easier to excuse some of the glitches during the repair process. This is the worst hyundai delearship in the DMV. Do not be fooled by the new renovations. Always ask to check below your vehicle after any work or oil change. I had carried my car in for an oil change. Not long after I see oil leaking from under the car. I carried my car to another dealership. Many hooks for the undercover were gone, the cover was hanging. There was oil leaking where the oil was poured in the wrong place and covered part of the engine and undercarriage. Now I have to pay to clean up the oil spill. Pictures were taken at other delearship.. The engine check light has been on since I did an oil change there before and of course they want to charge you for a "diagnostics" I will either file a police report or get an attorney. They also forced open my trunk and undid the covers for my break lights, without my permission. No one else has access to my car. Did not place them back properly, that is how I noticed Don't even try to talk to any manager. Save yourself money, stress, damage to your vehicle, waste of time and potential serious car accident! read more

Took too long for them to figure out what was wrong with my car. And even longer to give me a loaner vehicle. To make matters worse, the loaner got a tiny scratch on it from someone scratching the car while I was parked and in court. I was significantly overcharged for "damages". Also, the day I was set to return the loaner, I was away in court, I came out to see there was a boot on the car from unpaid traffic citations, prior to my use of the vehicle, 2 from 2021and 1 from June 2025. I missed out on critical moments from court as I was too scared to leave the loaner for fear of it being towed in my absence. I had to personally remove the boot after they paid the violations. To top it off, they asked if I could take off work to return the boot (that was NOT installed on my behalf), to the boot shop. 0/10. Would not recommend read more

This location has nice sales representative and is a very clean. However, this location will sell you a lemon. They claim there cars are good and up to standard and will push for the extended warranty. Once you drive the vehicle close to 30k it will soon need a new transmission. I bought 2 vehicles from here. Both need a transmission at 30k miles. If you want a long lasting car don't shop here. First car was a new 2020 Hyundai Elantra sport and the current truck is used 2022 Santa Fe limited with 30,082 at time of sale. Facts on car are wrong. HUGE UPDATE: In August 2024 I was wrongfully charged $330 at Pohanka Hyundai. They admitted to their mistake & twice said they would refund me to no avail. Of course I put in multiple disputes with my credit card company and Better Business Bureau. So far after four months the issue still hasn't been resolved. Me nor my husband will ever go back to this location. I would NEVER EVER recommend them. If they'll rip me off after 10 years of being a customer your time is next.
