Came in with a party of 7 which included 3 toddlers between the ages of 2- years old at 4pm on a Tuesday, so it wasn't busy at all. The hostess sat us immediately but offered a high top table first which seemed obviously inappropriate given the little ones. Received salsa/chips and waters promptly. Food orders taken quickly and came out fast. Interestingly they brought food out for all the adults first. Again, a miss with toddlers. Food was tasteless- no flavor in the sauces, the soft tacos had hard parts. The rice tasted like metal. Sour cream served in a plastic tube, which seemed a bit cheap. Disgusting and not worth the money! Ordered the fish tacos, got FISH STICKS in tortilla. I'm pretty sure I've had the same fish sticks from Walmart frozen food section before! Also ordered shrimp tacos, the shrimps were over cooked but had decent flavor. Rice and beans? More like canned rice and beans, they couldn't even be bothered to melt the cheese on the beans. We are visiting Frankenmuth, and wanted a good place for dinner. Poblano's was on the way to the Motel where we stayed, so we decided to try it. WOW!!! I am glad we did. We were greeted by a friendly hostess when we entered. She asked if we would like indoor or outdoor seating. We chose indoor, as it was hot and humid outside (although we noticed after being seated that the outdoor seats were covered). Our waitress, Alissa, got to the table very quickly. This lady was one of the best waitresses we have ever had. She was cheerful, friendly, and polite. She actually seemed to be enjoying her job. My wife ordered the Chimichanga Dinner, and I ordered the Fish Taco dinner. The food was prepared very well, and was good and flavorful. The servings were large, and my wife had to ask for a box, as it was too much for her to finish. I managed to shovel all but a small portion of rice down (Very tasty meal). While we were eating, our waitress, Alissa, came by to make sure everything was to our liking, and to ask if we would like refills. She ran behind the bar area and poured them herself, and quickly returned. She tempted us with Fried Ice Cream for desert, but we were FULL. She cleared our table, and promptly brought the check. When we got up to leave we passed her. She smiled, thanked us for coming, and told us to have a blessed day. This was such a pleasant dinner experience. I have no idea what the negative reviews are about.... We drive an hour to eat here a few times a year and it is the best Mexican restaurant we've eaten at in the tri-cities! The restaurant itself is beautiful, they're always busy as hell and running around like crazy- to PLEASE their guests. If service ever lacks when we go, it's because there's a line up out the door. Otherwise, everyone and everything is on point. This place deserves 5 stars. I hate when people bash businesses online. read more

The service is lacking in basics. The food was edible...but it was not really Mexican food. I've grown up in Southern California with a plethora of Mexican food around. While I dont think this is the worst Mexican food Ive had in Michigan, I just wouldn't recommend it or come back. I hate the fish tacos with a beerita. Went back for a 3rd try after they relocated buildings. The first 2 times the service was awful, rude servers, long wait times and being charged for extra chips and salsa at A MEXICAN RESTAURANT. Who does that lol. On our 3rd try back we waited to get sat for a few minutes which we were fine with, when we actually got sat we never once heard from anyone for over 10 minutes. I saw people getting sat right after us and they got their orders taken and chips and salsa when we hadn't even heard anything. If a server would've came by and said we will be right with you I would've totally understood. Its just that they clearly do not care. I have never gotten up and walked out of a restaurant but this was the first time I did. The food is great if you get a server to actually serve you but since moving the service is just so unbearable that I would rather go somewhere else. read more

Let'S start with the good, the operation itself has a great ambiance and decor. When I was there I got a flight of flavored margaritas and was super excited to try them. The waitress had asked if we wanted to upgrade to top shelf tequila so we did. I assumed it had a little up charge but I was never told there was one. When I got the drinks my disappointment grew worse as the drinks were extremely syrupy to the point of not being able to drink them. When our bill arrived the up charge for the tequila was $22 in addition to the $17 flight charge. My husband was mortified and questioned the waitress in which she had nothing to say about. Had she of even asked how our flight was I would have told her it was awful but she didn't care how our food or drinks were she was just trying to bank the $80 bill for a flight, margarita and three taco meal. We will not be returning and don't recommend you do either. read more

Today was our second time at the new location. Service both times was excellent. We never waited for anything. Both Davin and Krystal offered refills on iced teas, chips and salsa. Taco salads are very good. My only suggestion would be to offer some romaine or spring mix to the shredded iceberg. We love the tortilla soup but it is not available in the summer. Maybe next visit. We recommend this place if you want something other than fried chicken. The patio is wonderful in the summertime. read more

Soft corn tortillas were rubbery, salsa was pretty flavorless, was told I could not substitute chicken in place of steak, food was prepared incorrectly, and it took 25 minutes for our food to be delivered. I had high hopes based on how busy it was when we arrived, and the cute atmosphere, but my own home town has a lot of authentic and delicious options, this place doesn't hold a candle to. Love this place! Great food! As good as it gets for authentic Mexican around here. Definitely get your $$ worth. They come to your table fast and your food is delivered to you quick and hot. The servers are all pleasant and accommodating. This is a very small seating place before COVID. They have good separation between booths. I highly recommend and I lived in El Paso, Texas for 5 years & I can't say it was near on par to that but for around here, it definitely beats any chain restaurant or all of the Mexican mom and pop restaurants around the Tri-city area. Maybe if they worked on their customer service rather than being immature, people would come back and give good reviews. Cliff note version from my husband: This restaurant sucked! My extended version: Such a horrible experience at this restaurant. Ate here last summer and had a great experience so thought we'd come back and check it out again. The restaurant was not busy, maybe a third full. We were seated immediately. Drink order was taken pretty quickly. We have two small children so I was pleased that it appeared all would be going at a good pace. Fast forward: our waitress dropped off our drinks and said she would be back to take our order. She literally serviced five other parties as we waited as she passed us for approximately 25 minutes. We had to ask her to take our order and then waited another few minutes. Finally we ordered. We asked for more chips and drink refills (you know it's gotta be slow when you eat all the chips and drink your entire drink before you even order). Then we waited for food. And we waited. Our waitress was nowhere to be found. After waiting so long my husband flagged down another waitress. She said our waitress was talking with the owner outside and our food just came out. Then we needed silverware because she didn't bring us any. Our food was cold, slightly warm at best. I would have asked my waitress to have it warmed or remake but she was nowhere to be found. I went to the bar. The other lady had the kitchen remake my dish (thank you). By the time it was served to me, we had waited over 75 minutes and my 10 month old was done with sitting there. So I got boxes (from another waitress) and asked for the bill from our waitress who came back to fill up my toddlers drink. I got the bill back. I wasn't going to and I've never tipped zero in my life but I felt in this situation I really should. I asked to the hostess to speak to a manager. Our waitress came back to tell me she was the manager and we could speak to her. I really wanted to speak to someone else but she refused to let me and when I told her how horrible the service was she didn't apologize but instead told me how she filled up our chips and drinks. She also brought up that I could choose not to tip her. I've never actually been at a restaurant that runs like this. Food was okay- really didn't matter regardless because with such poor service how can you enjoy your meal. Won't be back and suggest you don't patronize this establishment either. read more

Came here for an early dinner with the family. The server, I believe her name was Alyssa, was great. She was very kind and attentive. The food was a different story. I got the street tacos dinner. The tacos were alright, not too bad but nothing really special. The rice was not good at all, but I was still able to eat a bit of it. The bean were completely inedible. I have visited this restaurant enough times to "give it a chance" and the food just isn't good. Their new building is nice and the staff is kind. The salsa didn't really have any flavor at all other than tomato sauce, the chips are sometime homemade and sometimes not, depends on how busy they are. I tried their chicken chimi on my most recent visit, the queso blanco was good, the breading outside the chimi was crispy and cooked well, the chicken inside had the texture of and tasted canned, it was salty and not good. We visited with a party of 5 and our waiter added gratuity on our checks for us, the bottom of the check said "parties of 6 or more gratuity is automatically added" we were a party of 5. No bueno! Plan on paying cash or pay an additional fee for using an electronic payment. This needs to be better!!! read more

First time visit. Tiny place but they are moving to a new place soon which is great news as the take out business was hopping & people were waiting for a table. Service was excellent. Food was fantastic. Prices were fair compared to other local places that don't have 1/2 the flavor. Great chips & salsa. Get some white cheese sauce, it's delicious. Honestly though, it's terrible. Steak is like dog food. Actually dog food would probably be better. It's dry, chewy, flavorless chunks. I got the Mexican City Street Tacos. Barely any meat, barely any onions and cilantro. And the cilantro that is on there is wilted, old and brown. Everything about the tacos seem old for that matter. Sent them back after eating part of one. The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because the chips, salsa and queso that I ate before my meal were great. Also the southwest egg rolls weren't bad either. A little over cooked but great flavor. Do not go here. read more

Oh Poblano's ...so came in with party of 3 and this review is all me. I ordered shrimp tacos. Came out cold refried beans cold, told the waitress which was very inconvenienced like I was suppose to pay for cold food with a smile ?? Food was returned same plate with other plates on bottom due to "hot plate!" Oh hell no! So I was retuned shrimp bullets, soggy tortilla and hot beans with sizzled microwaved edges. After waitresses abrupt exit I had to take my plate up to the bar to express my disapproval to the bar tender where the cook or a cook just so happen to be next to me. I will say this he jumped on my reaction unlike the waitresses that avoided me like I should appreciate my hot slop, he would remake my food and honestly I think he knew it was inedible and I will say he did one hell of a good job and toasted my shells!! This guy I would have given 5 starts because it was good idk what happened with the other or the communication I understand sometimes timing isn't right and so on but if someone think's microwaved shrimp tacos can be served rather the waitress/other staff said this was ok I'd recommend someone let's them know it's not !
