Anothe Yelp hit - Yelp never steers you wrong. This is a mom and pop self service tapas restaurant in Granada. They am open 8pm - 2am Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; 8pm - 3am Fridays and Saturdays. They are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. CASH ONLY! If you are not sitting/standing at the bar, please self service (get your own drinks and food when it's ready; clear your own tables when you are done). Onto the food and drinks, their ciders dry apple and pear were a great option if you don't want to get tipsy too fast. They have a great variety of beers and wines which seems well curated. For our free tapas, we got the chicken livers, chicken in coconut sauce with polenta and the piri piri pork stew. Urgh the food is so delicious, flavorful and a little kick of spice. The food menu is small but the dishes are well made. Our favorite was the chicken livers. I hate chicken livers; it's irony and if not cooked well, it can get tough and chewy and irony, not the most pleasant. This chicken liver is the best chicken liver I had in my entire life and I had the chicken liver on toast at the Spotted Pig. If you love a little kick to your food, the slight fragrance of cilantro and the smoothness of chicken pate or foie gras, you have to HAVE TO get this dish. If you came to Granada and did not have this dish, you missed out!! Order drinks and get tapas and get a racion of your favorite dish. Also this is a mom and pop restaurant, don't expect blazing fast service like the tapas restaurant in the touristy spots where they churn out customers for volume. Be patient and you will be rewarded with some warm home cooked scrumptious food.

Can't say enough about this place! Loved it so much we came back multiple times in our time in Granada. As is typical of many bars in Granada, each drink order comes with a tapa. But at Poë, the tapas are seriously out of this world delicious. Some of our favorites being the spicy pork stew, skewers, chicken in coconut sauce and polenta, and the chicken in spicy thai sauce. But perhaps the biggest draw of this place are the delightful husband-wife team who run the joint. They are so incredibly friendly and welcoming, and even recognized us when we came back for the second time a few days later. The place can get crazy packed, and seems to be a good mix of locals, ex-pats, and tourists. A great place to stop by if you want a change of pace from your typical Spanish tapas, grab some affordable drinks, enjoy some delicious food, and to hang out in a super friendly/cozy joint.

My favorite, most genuine, unique tapas and bar experience during my entire trip to Spain. This place was so good that my friend and I had to go here two nights in a row just so we could eat and drink the amazing food and beer again. The ambiance of this small, hole in the wall bar is welcoming, warm and loving. My friend and I were unsure of what to order on the menu our first night so the owner surprised us with some of the best tapas of our whole vacation. The owner was exceptionally kind and you can wholeheartedly feel the dedication to running your own bar. It has a locals vibe as many people were meeting up to catch up, or even just read a book over a beer. During our second night, my friend and I mixed it up a little more and tried some of the other menu items and beers, and nothing disappointed.

Drink menu - Don't forget that you get 1 free tapa with 1 drink order!

Tip: Try to get there close to opening as it gets really busy! Probably the best bar experience that I had in Granada! Although the other ones were pretty good too in comparison to the 2 other Spanish cities. As per the menu, Poe specialises in non-Spanish tapas. What I liked about them, other than the taste were their cute portions - each one could essentially be a meal on its own! British bartender/owner does it all from taking orders, making drinks, & serving! So if language is a concern as an English-speaker, rest assured here. :) 1 FREE TAPAS/DRINK!!!

Poe is one of my favorite tapas bars in Granada. All bars will give you a free tapas with your drink, but Poe has the best options and you can choose which one you want! The owners are amazing and work each night so be sure to talk with them. The first time I came here was 9 years ago when I studied abroad in Granada and I was happy to see they were still open. I can't recommend this place enough. Get some tinto de veranos and snack on the chicken in coconut sauce or Thai curry.

From my morning walk, this is a beautiful place you can visit in Grenada...Sacromonte

Granada is the most interesting melting pot ive ever been to. So naturally, Anna having been raised in Portugal, brings an amazing blend of Spanish and Portuguese tapas to her loyal customers. All you have to do is order a drink and you'll get a free tapas. YOU GET TO PICK THE TAPAS! Well, Anna and her husband Matthew deserve this, if you want to meet the coolest people in Spain, come here for great drinks, the best tapas and real conversations.

We ordered every single tapas on the menu. Would highly recommend this place as it's cheap and you get good value food which is also quite delicious. My fav two tapas are - spicy pork stew - spicy chicken in Thai sauce I might be biased cus I am keen on spicy food but we did order these two twice. You get one free tapas with one drink order. In total we got 11 tapas and two drinks and the bill was only 17.3 EUR!! Would suggest you to go early to avoid waiting. We got there at their opening timing and have no problem grabbing a table.

Bottom left to top right: pork stew, coconut chicken and Thai chicken.

Poë is a must do in Granada. Per the norm in the city, each drink you buy comes with a tapa, however in Poë you choose from a menu of set dishes. The tapas is much different from the Spanish norm, so it's good for a change - would recommend the Thai chicken and coconut chicken as the two best, with the pork stew with rice also being terrific. The owner/barman is English, speaks both Spanish and English, and manages the service in the bar very well, considering it's just him and it's always busy! It's quite a small bar and can feel quite crowded with students from all over the world, however, stopping here for a few drinks and sampling their tapas is a must do when in Granada!

An amazing dining experience with fantastic service. The owners are so friendly and engaging. And they serve delicious globally influenced tapas with each drink. Thai chicken, Brazilian pork stew, Portuguese style bacalao, garbanzo bean salad, etc. We plan on going back every night of our vacation. It was that good.

We've been in Spain for about a week now and we were just searching for something different and low a behold we found POË! This place is AMAZING! Right when we walked in we were greeted by the owner with a big smile on his face and so welcoming (we've noticed in spain that everytime we walk into a restaurant, workers just stare at us, i guess the culture is very different from the u.s.) The menu is very small for food and also for drinks but that's what makes this place so special. We ordered 3 tapas to start.. 1) Chicken with Thai spicy sauce 2) Chicken liver spicy with corlander 3) Spicy "piri piri" pork stew drinks.. beer and house wine (so so good) After devouring the first 3 that we ordered.. round 2! 4) skewer of grilled pork and pineapple 5) chicken in coconut sauce with polenta ..round 3?! 6) brazilian blackbean and pork stew one more chicken liver and chicken spicy thai.. I mean do i really have to explain how good the food is here? We just keep on ordering and everytime i swear it tasted better and this is just for 2 people! Just FYI this place is ran by a very friendly couple (angolan/Portuguese and British, inspired). It is a small place, but boy it felt like home! oh here's the topper!!!! we paid only €16 WHAT?! for all of that!!! seriously?! we will be coming back tomorrow, which is our last night in spain!

Honey rum and coke, and Granada rum and lemon soda

Yummy tapas place in Granada! Not a cocktail bar, but have some good drinks like the honey rum and coke (my FAV) and tinto de verano that's made fresh (not bottled). Each drink comes with a complimentary tapa that you get to choose. The tapa menu is a bit small but everything tastes great. I recommend the Pica Pica if you like spicy, the Thai chicken curry, and the Pork stew. Still gotta try the pork skewer (my friends have told me those are good too). Drinks are all under 4ish euros, and additional tapas are only 1.40 euros. Definitely recommend this place! Ps. I wish the owner didn't go on vacation so abruptly without notice.. Missed this place!

Dudes behind the bar were all right, and they played decent music and took requests from the customers, but I sit down and proceed to meet the most "Cara de perra" Spanish woman that I spoke to the entire time I had been in Spain. Truly unpleasant. I try to make some chit chat - trust me that I was not interested in this woman in the least bit, but thought I could at least converse with her - you never know if someone might be interesting but literally anything I say is met with immediate eye-rolling. She's all pissed if I can't hear every word she says, even though I don't really care, and she's hardly as interesting as she thinks she is. She was some tour guide in the Albaicin she tells me and busts a gasket because I thought she said she worked at the Alhambra or something. I mean, I was keeping it nice and civil and non political or controversial. Trying to talk about traveling, food, the usual banter when you meet someone. Anyway, she was such a jerk that when she went to smoke a cigarette, I had to immediately pay my tab and GTFO before she came back. It's really not the bar's fault, but y'all should try to keep that woman out of your place. She completely killed the vibe! Ha! I left and wished I had stopped at the EDM dance bar just down the street on the right instead. If you want a nice pub with a better vibe, go to POE a few streets further down. The owner there was way more interesting and they actually have some dope tapas!
