Tapas - ham with amazing orange(?) salsa
    Rob W.

This was our favorite tapas experience in all of Spain. Felt like an incredibly authentic, cool spot. Great music (mix of 60s-70s American and Spanish), lighting and atmosphere. We stopped in for a couple of drinks and enjoyed the incredible tapas that came with each - a grilled, serrano-wrapped asparagus on a crusty baguette, followed by marinated sardines on thinly sliced bread. We were either so charmed or so inebriated (or some combination thereof) that we abandoned our plan to wander to different spots and kind of settled in for the late night - ordered an incredible beet hummus served with sliced carrots & celery (highly recommended) and a nice cheese plate and just hung out and enjoyed the friendly service, great wine and excellent vibe.

We took The Original Tapas Crawl tour and Rosario Varela was one of the stops. Great vibe. The staff was so great. The food was excellent. Fish is not a big part of my diet but a young man showed up at the table with a blow torch to "BBQ" us some Sardines like they usually do great in old wooden boats on the beach in Malaga. The sardines were served on tomato toast. Delicious. We also had some beef. It's not really clear to me everything we were eating because we were on a tour and our guide was ordering everything but the staff was wonderful and the food was delicious. I don't drink alcohol but my sister enjoyed drinking a Vermouth. This place is delicious, fresh, cool environment. Perfect place for a night out with friends. Loved the decor.

On the corner of Calle Varela and Navas, Rosario Varela is a busy, popular tapas bar in the heart of Granada. The ambiance, interior is rustic with a lot of wood finishing giving it a warm feeling. In terms of space, it's probably one of the bigger bars in the area with ample inside (dentro) and some outdoor (afuera) seating. Prices, like most bars in the area are reasonable, so I took advantage of their glass of wine with a complimentary tapas. The service is friendly and efficient. Overall place is clean, but I definitely have to come back to this place to try other things listed in the menu. So far so good.

This place is unbelievable. As authentic as it gets. We enjoyed many plates including the meat and cheese sampler with hummus and caviar, crudo (raw meat served with olive oil), and rare steak with potatoes. We enjoyed free tapas tastings with each beverage. They have an extensive vermouth menu for under 3 euro per glass each. Our meal for two was 50 euros and we were stuffed full of drink and food. Would recommend to anyone looking for the best meal in the area. Free Wifi included.

Really good and nice atmosphere, the place is nice and well decorated. Service is good and the menu gives a lot of options! Strongly recommend

Don't go. Got the food on separate times. Dishes dirty. Staff don't care. Very dissatisfied.

Great drinks and unique tapas! We also had the pickle plate which was delicious and very fairly priced. Fun place to watch the World Cup.

Great place for drink and have tapas. Not as crowded as the more "touristic" ones, a lot of locals too.

Smaller, cozy full of character Bar area and the whole place is filled with bottles. 5 tables outside but for me inside was much more interesting. I ordered a Verdejo and my Server brought out a complimentary tomato Tapa and Salami. Tomatoes were super fresh and slightly salted-delicious! Everything on the menu looked good! I ordered the Sturgeon, Foie Gras and White Sausage. The Sturgeon was exquisite with the tomatoes and peppers pairing perfectly! Should have taken the big order. Foie Gras and white sausage (mild) were simple, tasty and didn't disappoint. My Server was friendly and worked to bring out the dishes as they were ready given my time crunch. About an 8 minute walk from the city center and well worth it. Make the stop for some high quality/reasonably priced Tapas and Wine in a unique space.

Dudes behind the bar were all right, and they played decent music and took requests from the customers, but I sit down and proceed to meet the most "Cara de perra" Spanish woman that I spoke to the entire time I had been in Spain. Truly unpleasant. I try to make some chit chat - trust me that I was not interested in this woman in the least bit, but thought I could at least converse with her - you never know if someone might be interesting but literally anything I say is met with immediate eye-rolling. She's all pissed if I can't hear every word she says, even though I don't really care, and she's hardly as interesting as she thinks she is. She was some tour guide in the Albaicin she tells me and busts a gasket because I thought she said she worked at the Alhambra or something. I mean, I was keeping it nice and civil and non political or controversial. Trying to talk about traveling, food, the usual banter when you meet someone. Anyway, she was such a jerk that when she went to smoke a cigarette, I had to immediately pay my tab and GTFO before she came back. It's really not the bar's fault, but y'all should try to keep that woman out of your place. She completely killed the vibe! Ha! I left and wished I had stopped at the EDM dance bar just down the street on the right instead. If you want a nice pub with a better vibe, go to POE a few streets further down. The owner there was way more interesting and they actually have some dope tapas!
