QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE: We are very happy with the amount of time Adam worked with us before starting our project, quickly and thoroughly answering our questions and arranging a site visit beforehand to discuss the different qualities of materials that would best match our landscape needs. QUALITY MATERIALS AND INSTALLATION SPECIFICATIONS: Adam impressed us with all the specifics for the materials, precise measurements and installation plans in our contract. Many of these items we had never even thought about and it was great having Adam's expert advice to guide us. Our fence was made with red cedar which was used for the panels, cross beams, horizontal rails and post caps supported with sturdy smooth yellow cedar 4"X 4" posts. 6 Brackets were installed with exterior screws to hold 3 smooth yellow cedar 2x4 crossbeams. Each post set approx. 22-24 inches deep with concrete footings. Footings were covered with a layer of gravel to protect long term. *** IMPORTANT NOTE: PNW Permaculture's fences are REPAIRABLE FENCES! This means that each panel is made to be easily accessible for repairs. Because the panels are installed on brackets they can be removed, repaired and replaced without having to reset or deal with the posts (unless the posts are damaged too of course!) *** Our large red cedar gate was mounted on a smooth Yellow Cedar 6x6 post set 2.75 ft. deep into the ground. The gate was constructed with inside corner brackets, outside hinges, a heavy-duty dual access latch, a standard handle and a heavy-duty metal anti-sag bar. A bear knocked over our last gate but we don't think he'll be able to do it again! We especially appreciated when PNW Permaculture went above and beyond by adding "doggy windows" in the fence for our very spoiled labrador retriever! QUALITY WORKMANSHIP: Each member of the PNW Permaculture crew was professional. hard working, detail oriented and friendly. They arrived on time and worked all day. The crew was very organized with every step of the process, from tearing down and hauling away the old fence, coordinating materials, setting the concrete footers, installing brackets, building the fence, staining the fence, maintaining a clean work site each day and leaving the yard spotless after the project ended.
