Our community was getting proposals on an iron gate that needed repair, an appt set up for 4 weeks in advance (Their only opening). We took it even though we were on a time crunch. I got email & text reminders 3 days before. Day of appt, I wait for an hour- no estimator showed. I emailed the company & was told they referred me to another company as they are more specialized. Wow. Never told me they were referring me and that my appt, with them, would be cancelled. THEN sent REMINDERS for my appt. Soooooo bad. No apologies, no explanation. I contacted Fense Specialists to build a 24 foot wide rolling gate.  The estimator showed up on time, as scheduled. I explained what I wanted. He took the appropriate measurements and we discused options and decided on the design of the gate. When the installers showed up, also on time, they had the metal frame already made and all the wood and materials they needed. The guys went right to work. They were very cordial and polite and were willing to answer any questions I posed to them. All during installation they seemed genuinely concerned about the impact they had on my yard. When they were finished they made sure to clean up and take all the waste with them. When they were gone you couldn't even tell they had been there. I would HIGHLY recommend Fence Specialists. read more

Only giving 1 Star because to post a review you have to. Made an appointment 2 weeks in advance to have someone come out and give me a bid for a fence. I received 2 e-mails asking me to confirm or cancel, I confirmed the appointment both times. Day of the appointment the person was a no call, no show. No bid, no business. I don't understand - I have been working or I should say trying to work with this company since May. I had to chase the "Estimator" down to even get me an estimate. Then when he finally gave me one, which I promptly paid in full, they set up a date the first week of September. Day came and went. No call no email. Had to chase him down again. Apologies were given and was told he would keep in touch. Another month has gone by. --- nothing. I have sent emails and made phone calls. Just nothing. Going through the other reviews most complaints come from dealing with the project manager Jim. Which is also mine. Maybe the company should take notice. read more

Low quality fence. That was installed one month ago Gates are sagging posts are leaning. Contacted my project manager Jim or James.he says all that stuff is very common and there's nothing they can do about it. These guys were the cheapest quote we could find now I know why. do yourself a favor pay a little more and get a fence that doesn't start falling apart after a month and a company that doesn't care to fix their mistakes. read more

Our seriously old cedar fence was failing after recent wind storms. Aaron from Fence Specialists came out and gave me options for repair or replacement. Was told appointments were 2 months out for repair. I got notification that they could get to my fence sooner then expected. They arrived with all their supplies and got to work. We had ours installed several years ago but I do remember they were prompt, efficient and professional. We had odd specifications in one area but they accepted it and did it without a second glance. I recall they were very inexpensive because we were in a pinch but needed the fence quickly. We ordered a chain-link with 3 gates, one a double gate. Give them a call! read more

The salesmen was pretty forceful,which wasn't really that necessary cause the price was pretty good so I was gonna choose them anyway. The workers were good guys and did a good job. The problem lies in the office and management. The bill was off and they charged us too much . After calling our contact guy Daryl like seven different times still no response. Talked to a manger who said he would take care of matters but it was all lip service. My wife and i are opening a business and really don't have time to chase office people around. They did okay to start with but in the end they dropped the ball and I wouldn't give them my business again. Get what u pay for I guess. read more

The people who say the office staff are rude weren't joking. I went with them since they had the best price and there were friendly and prompt at first. Once they got the business however, they started answering my calls like it was such a burden to do so. When the workers were finished with the project, they told me I could pay by card by calling their office. I wanted something additional done anyway so I called their office, they answered and I only managed to say I was going to pay for the finished work before they asked if they could call me back. No problem...until they never did. Oh well some better company will get my business then. read more

Fence Specialists has been around for many many years. If you look around you will see their fence signs everywhere. We have used them on more than one occasion. The office staff is very friendly. The crews that we have worked with are clean, courteous and work hard. We have never had any problems, love our fences and will definitely continue to use them. read more

If you live next door to where these guys are doing a job, watch out. They trampled landscaping on my property and moved rocks so they could stand higher. If they had asked permission before trespassing, it would be a different story - surly and grumpy when these things point out. I was impressed they went the extra mile and upgraded the posts to longer posts to stabilize the fence better since it's on a hill. I really can't say enough how happy we are with the work they've done for us. We had large stretch of our backyard that not only needed old fencing removed, but also a rather unwieldy 7'x12' wall of ivy and overgrown bramble. These guys came out and took that nightmare away and replaced it with a beautiful six foot tall vinyl fence. We were so happy with it, we called them out again recently to do our driveway to cover up our neighbor's disgusting hellscape of a yard. Now we can't see him at all! Our estimator, Jeff, is great. Very prompt with communication. The installers have all always been friendly and done incredible work. And I've never had an issue with the ladies in the office at all. Not sure why a lot of people on here seem to have. Anyway, great work for a fair price. Will use them again and would recommend them to anyone. read more

The Fence Specialists may be a great company and do wonderful work, however I will never know since I did not get that far. Be aware of the office people, Dawn to be exact, is a nightmare. Long story short, I had the contractor come out, gave me a quote (overpriced to be honest), and about a week later I paid the third down that they require to get "started". Getting started never happened. Each time I called, the office staff were rude. I let it slide. Eight days after I paid the deposit I called and wanted to know when my fence may be done, a time frame was all I was asking for, since they already had a large chunk of money I did not think wanting to know that was unreasonable. Dawn spoke over me, started to yell, I started to yell back for her to listen to me...she hung up on me. Note that I did not cuss, and the convo started out polite. I called back and demanded my money back, she continued to be rude and tell me that I was told Id get my fence in June. Not good enough for me. I would never recommend this company to anyone based solely on their office staff, the face of the company. It is very sad that they lost a bid due to their choice in office employees. Being in the customer service industry for over 15 years I can say I have never and would never hang up on someone who was just trying to get some answers....very poor choice in hiring Dawn. Even though this was all a pain and stressful, I got a better company with a MUCH better quote, top notch service and done in a timely manner. read more

I can't say enough about this company. They were kind enough to come to our home on 2 occasions (at no cost) to give us quotes for fence repair. How did we repay their kindness? We hired another company that submitted an even lower bid. What a mistake! I will not name that company here, but their work was exactly the type that you read about where contractors take your money, do the shoddiest work ever followed by a disappearing act! Fence Specialists came back a third time...at no cost...provided another quote to repair the damage done by the other fence company, set a date for the work, completed it in ONE DAY (not over the cours of 4 weeks!) and the end result was BEAUTIFUL! Not only have I recommended Fence Specialists everywhere I possibly can, we are planning to rehire them in the spring to replace much of the fencing around our 1/2 acre property. Hire them! Jacob, the lead fence installer is a perfectionist and found ways to expertly solve every problem that arose in our unique fence and gate installation. Not only that, but their price was only 2/3 the estimate given by our insurance company's "preferred" fence repair company - a general contractor. Was impressed with what I'd read on their website, so decided to ask if they'd travel to Issaquah to build our fence. Stephenie took her time walking through our project making sure we covered all the details. The workers were efficient and did a great job. We even contracted them to add a small section on to an existing fence. A huge shrub had been removed which left that corner exposed to dogs wandering onto our property to "do their business." The men also did a great job replacing a rotted beam on our arbor. There was a bookkeeping glitch which was remedied with a phone call. We would have wanted a few more slats replaced in our old fence, which we noticed after the men left. Other than that, we'd use FS again. read more

I had arranged for the fencing specialist to come install a fence on August 1 waited all day without a phone call no one showed up until several phone calls the next morning when I was told someone had to be fired and they were looking for someone else to come and do my fence. Ultimately they sent another fence company to do the fence. There was no follow-up from fencing specialist just a bill. After three phone calls requesting to speak to a manager I never was able to speak to the manager and they only deducted $50 from my total bill. Definitely won't use them again read more

A few years back I would have recommended them. However, they have gone down hill drastically. There was work to be done and we were told that they would provide a deal and bundle the repairs together. Which were fine with except the repairs were not done. They guy the sent out to do the job did not complete all the repairs and they still have an expectation that I pay the full price, which was more than the amount of the the repairs they actually did. Yes, the originally gave me a break down for all the repairs separate and then said they if I had all done at once they would give me a discount. I agreed but they did not even do half the repairs. I DO NOT suggest them. Also, their customer service and billing department are a joke. They have no idea what one says and the other is doing. HORRIBLE service. DO NOT USE THEM OR YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF. read more

This is a very unprofessional company. I scheduled an estimate for a chain link fence installation and the estimator never showed up or called. I called the office and they could not give me an answer in regards to where he was. I was told that they would call me back but never received a call back. I called the office again and was told that according to the estimators truck gps he went to the wrong house. I asked why wasn't a phone call placed to me? She replied that his phone was broke. I wasted taking off a day of work to having a no show no call. Don't waste your time on these guys. Luckily economy fencing of Tacoma came out. Saved me from choosing between the two. read more

We came back to them many times in our quest for doing our chain link fence ourselves and were always greeted with a smile... and even called by name! They were helpful, answered all of our questions and when we were at wits end and didn't think we would be able to complete our project Jose came to our house and finished our fence for us! I couldn't be more satisfied with their service, work, and impressed with their efficiency and professionalism.
