Half of the windows were original, a few were upgraded 40 years ago, and several large newer windows weren't installed properly. Taseca replaced all of them with modern, energy efficient vinyl windows. Ordering new windows is easy. The response from the company, scheduling, and installation were excellent. I phased the window replacement over three visits and for each visit, the crew arrived promptly, did an excellent job, and cleaned up after the job was done. I was very impressed with the workmanship and professionalism of the Taseca crew. The new windows easily passed the PUD inspection and helped me qualify for a rebate. One window was so poorly installed by the previous contractor that the entire frame of the window had to be redone. Taseca took on the work and spent an afternoon making things right. The new window and frame are now up to modern standards. If you're looking to replace your windows or insulate your house, call Taseca Weatherization. You won't be disappointed.

It took 2-3 weeks for a quote and that was only after prodding from a mutual party. I responded to the quote within a day and never heard back. It's been 2.5 months with no reply. I ended up going with Window World of Portland, at a higher cost, because they gave a quote quickly and have communicated during the entire process. If you're unable to take on a specific job, just tell client instead of leaving them hanging... I would respect that way more and may consider you for a different job in the future.

Our house was built in 1995 and the windows had been replaced once (according to neighbors) but…read morethey were very cheap quality. With the heat we've had the past few summers and then the snow that seems to be a yearly event now, we thought it was time to get a really good widow upgrade. We also wanted out house painted after installation and Clear Choice set that up for us as well. (See my review for Triple A Painting). What we loved most about dealing with Clear Choice Windows & Doors was the personalized service we received. They have a large selection of window frame materials to choose from and our choice of fiberglass was an easy one. It was explained to us that fiberglass windows are stronger than both vinyl and wood, making them incredibly resilient to weather and climate -- perfect for PNW homeowners. From start to finish, our team of window installers provided friendly service, excellent craftsmanship, and it took only two days to install the 10 new windows in our home. Before, during and after, the team cleaned up and kept the work site tidy at all times. There was minimal damage to our landscaping as well. We can feel a definite difference in the inside temperature of our house since the new windows were installed. Our AC doesn't seem to work as hard and it takes less time to cool off in the summer and to heat in the winter. The outside look is classy and fits well with the style of our house and the neighborhood. We highly recommend Clear Choice Windows & Doors if you're looking for new windows.

We have used Clear Choice three times now. During the last time we used them to replace a window…read moreframe that was leaking water into the house. The crew that came out was very new and completely botched the job, breaking siding along the way. To Clear Choice's credit they sent out a more senior team member to fix the issue and said they would replace the siding. Unfortunately because they had to cover up all the issues the window frame is now twice the width of all my other window frames. Once the siding arrived I paid Clear Choice to paint the trim and siding. The crew came out to fix the siding and get things painted but they said they only would paint the trim even though I agreed with the project manager, Luke, that the siding would be painted as well since they broke the siding in the first place. In April the trim was painted and they said they would come back out to do the siding but they never came. After multiple messages to Luke and then to our original sales rep, Jeff (who is lovely!), we still do not have our siding painted. Jeff did everything he could to escalate the matter but after months of back and forth it is clear that Clear Choice does not have great internal communication between sales and the working technicians since even a small job could not be resolved despite multiple efforts from myself and their own colleague, Jeff. While we appreciate the work Clear Choice has done for us over the last several years, we will not be using them in the future, as I now need to buy paint and find another service to come out and paint our siding (which Clear Choice broke), leaving me in the negative for this project.

But I do need to point out some glaring details about this project as a note to myself more than anyone else before hiring this company. I first reached out to them in November last year and Manuel responded back very promptly using the odd messaging system Yelp uses. We traded a few messages, and Justin came out not long after to do a survey on the broken window in the bathroom which looked like it had been hit with a BB or a bullet. He gave me an estimate on replacing that window but pointed out that a lot of my other windows either had a lot of condensation build-up and/or mold beginning to grow out of the dampness. I ended up making the executive call to replace them all. It was a perfectly enjoyable hour or two discussing and then finishing up paperwork. He said he'd be in touch in about 4 - 6 weeks and left. That's where communication on an unprompted basis ended. I waited for almost 2 months before I picked up on the old Yelp thread because no one ever reached out during that period. Manuel told me twice he'd get back to me, but he never did. Someone named Skylar called me and told me Manuel had left on family leave. What kind of professional leaves his customers without notifying them that they are being handed to another representative? Then Skylar handed me off to Luke and despite my request to give me a heads up so I could let my work know if I needed to be home, he never confirmed anything. A third party delivery service showed up while I was sleeping and I had to clear out my garage so they had room. Then half an hour later Alex and his team showed up to start installing. I'm lucky my job was flexible enough to take me not coming in that week, but for other customers, do they have that kind of agility? It took them two days total to do the main job and then finish. After that Alex showed me the work and I signed a paper that he said was more for his team (I do a lot of projects for work and I'm pretty sure they were contractors for ASW). After that Luke said he had to do a walk for job completion that was never followed up on. I called him as promised and he said he'd get back to me, but he didn't. Then came the Docusign asking me to verify the job walk was done. I didn't sign it, thinking he had to do his walk. This was a $20k job. This is the first house I've ever owned. I wanted to be sure. He then said the job walk was done and I signed off on the work which meant the paper I signed with Alex was the final sign off, but he could have just explained this and saved us an email thread. One final laughable detail is his email to me didn't have an attachment, so his marketing team had to send me the photo he referenced to verify I signed. All in all, this whole process left me feeling like I was an inconvenience to them rather than a customer. The plus side: The windows look great. They reduce outside temperature and noise at a noticeable level. But ASW is just the coordinator. Other companies manufacture the windows, deliver them and install them. The one thing they should excel at is communication with the customer, but they decidedly don't.

They resided my entire house (after another company did an awful job that resulted in water damage) and replaced several windows and installed a cedar soffit. Communication could use improvement, and I would not recommend them to replace any exterior doors (their bid was insanely high). There were a few issues along the way (damaged meter box, dented gutter) that I wish would have been brought to my attention, but everything was addressed and in the end the crew went above and beyond to make me happy. They did an excellent job installing a beautiful cedar soffit, which is now my favorite part of my house.
