I then needed help opening up a credit card so the ladies directed me to Kristina who saw me immediately. (Nothing worse than trying to grab someone's attention and waiting for them to stop texting or bullshitting with a coworker so I was happy that wasn't the case here.) Both the branch manager Venice as well as the branch service manager, Christina Gonzalez, are incompetent. They have no clue how to run the branch. Our company had been using the bank and were forced to switch accounts. The managers told us that switching over would be no issue and that any outstanding checks would be withdrawn against the new account. Needless to say they had never closed and opened a new account before and we began receiving DOZENS of bounced check fees from vendors. When we questioned the branch managers they said they did not understand what happened and that they were really just guessing that the new account would be drawn from without them having to put any notes into the system. We needed to spend countless hours contacting vendors and fixing the situtation. When I spoke with someone from corporate, they were appaled by the terrible support we received and actually recommended that we switch branches becuase of previous issues. When we told Venice we were leaving she became annoyed kept stating that she didn't understand why we were upset....I told her that right there is why we are leaving. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BRANCH!!

My family went to this Wells Fargo branch to put money into a CD for a member of the family who is…read morea minor. Prior to going, we asked a bank teller if any documents were required and was told "no, you don't need to bring anything." When we got to the bank, we were told that photo ID was required. Frustrating to get mixed information, but miscommunications can happen; we went home to grab an ID since we live just 5 minutes away. We waited in the bank for about 30 minutes with no one acknowledging our presence. Understandable if the bank was busy, but there were 4 tellers and no customers the time we were waiting. When we asked if one of the tellers can help us, we were told that we had to wait for a specific person to open a CD. When she was available, she told us that we didn't have an appointment and should come back the next day because she wanted to go home early. Our frustration lies in the following: 1. No one told us an appointment was required the in the three trips that were made to the bank. 2. After making us wait close to half an hour, we were told that we couldn't be helped because someone wanted to go home early. We were told this at 4 pm and the bank closes at 5 pm. 3. No one apologized for the inconvenience or acknowledged that we had made multiple trips and waited, only to be turned away. We have been loyal Wells Fargo customers for over 35 years and this was the first time we were treated and dismissed as second-class citizens. I am writing this review on behalf of my immigrant parents who are not able to articulate how they felt at this branch. They are remorseful for their frustrated reaction, but they went there with my younger sister to open her first CD (a big milestone for a young kid), but ended up being dismissed and turned away. This branch is an unfortunate example of racism and is represented by a group employees who look down on non-English speaking immigrants. I am disappointed by how poorly this branch treated my parents and sister, and hope that this review will serve as a training and learning opportunity to treat all customers equally. Until then, we will taking my younger sister to a different bank that values all customers, whoever they are and where they come from.

I believe Peapack Gladstone Bank took advantage of my elderly uncle. When he was 88 years old,…read morethey convinced him to sign a Revocable Trust document appointing the bank as Trustee of all his investment assets. No family members, witnesses, or impartial notaries were present at the signing to evaluate his understanding of the documents before he signed them. In fact, the document was notarized 3 days after my uncle signed it, in another state, and without my uncle present. He also signed a fee agreement, which he later told his attorney he did not understand. The Trust had no benefit to my uncle or his estate, but greatly benefited Peapack Gladstone Bank by appointing the bank as sole Trustee, giving them total control over his assets, and providing regular monthly fees to the bank. After my uncle's death, the bank used their authority to hire lawyers to administer the trust distribution and paid them from the trust (totaling more than $19,000), while they continued to take their full Trustee fee of approximately $3500 per month over the course of the trust administration and distribution. Additionally, and most shockingly, the fee agreement that my uncle signed when they executed the Revocable Trust document allowed for a termination fee to be charged upon my uncle's death! The termination fee totaled just shy of $100,000. My uncle and his wife were customers of the bank for over 35 years. The bank's actions may not be illegal, but what they did is morally and ethically wrong. It is my hope that this bank never takes advantage of another elderly client again.
