Two different people in the same location told me that they had that savings account option and then when I actually try to do it, I was told oops we made a mistake... Really a Bank makes a mistake. Oh no that's why I took all my money out of Kearny and I don't care now if they have 10% interest, I'd never put it back again... They really need to up there staff education on their own products... In six decades with this bank (which has also served my parents, my siblings and their children), I've never had a problem of any sort. (And that's extremely rare in life; the consistently good service that they provide should not be taken for granted.) It's a model of what a bank should be. The people here are unfailingly kind, courteous, professional, and friendly (in a nice, small-town sort of way). They know who I am. They're smart and flexible. And can offer good advice when needed. The bank has grown a bit since I was a boy, with branches in two other towns (Hawthorne and West Orange), but it retains its appealing neighborhood feel, and its independence as a successful local business. (It has not been gobbled up by some larger bank.) I do business with various banks. But this is, by far, my favorite--very well-run. And they deal with people well. I'll always keep an account here.
