If you need it before then you can come into the office and put up what we have." Me -"Then there should have been a statement issued for 11/19/25?" Melissa -"Yes you should of received it already. Did you want me to send you a copy of it again ?" Me-"Yes, please send. Did not receive and please make sure that the account is not marked as paperless causing the problem." Me today-"No statement for the Estate account for December yet. Please mail a copy and find out where the mailed statement is. No statement received the dates of 11/19 or the current 12/19." Ended up calling customer service, the account was marked "PAPERLESS"! Careless service and no follow through for the 5th3rd Wheeling bank.

I hate banks I don't care which one, they want to take our money but they (none of them) want to provide the service, I wonder what they would do if we all got fed up and withdrew all of our money and kept it home under our mattresses. It's easy to pull in and roll up to the two 24 hour drive-up ATMs. The ATMs are both modern systems with very responsive screens and keypads, though they only dispense $20 bills. The ATM in the lobby - which is also accessible 24 hours a day with a card - looked to be the same make, but I didn't try it out. It's a small location, so I don't know if they offer all the banking services of the larger branches. This location also doesn't appear to have any kind of drive-up teller access. If you need the assistance of the teller, you'll have to walk in.

Let me preface this review by saying I am not happy with the company JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. at…read moreall. Many times I've tried to escape them; but they keep merging with the banks I switch to (Purdue National, Plainfield Bank, Chemical Bank, Marine Bank, First Chicago, WaMu, BankOne, etc.) and I wind up their customer again. That said, I generally don't hold that against the individual branches. This branch location functions well enough, in spite of being a Chase Bank. Easily accessible from every direction on Dundee Rd. and Buffalo Grove Rd. (entrances to the plaza on either road), with plenty of parking and conveniently close to several shopping and food options. The whole plaza is well lit, frequently patrolled by BGPD, and there is plenty of parking around the building. The lobby is nice, with access to a walk up ATM, and there's a drive-thru ATM behind the building. All of the ATMs only dispense $20 bills (at least as of mid-April 2024), so you have to go to a teller for smaller bills. There are three drive-up teller lanes, though I've only ever seen two open. The lane adjacent to the building is where the drive-up night deposit box is, and there's one in the lobby. It's a full-service branch, so they offer all the expected amenities and services. The staff all seem pretty cool, so I would consider coming here if I needed help with my account.

The Fifth Third branch in Wheeling used to have a change counting machine. Recently they had it…read moreremoved - the teller told me it was "too much trouble" but they would gladly accept the change I wanted to deposit if I wrapped the coins in rolls they provided. Today I went in and they informed me that they no longer accepted change deposits. The manager told me they were not equipped to handle large change deposits. I had 3 rolls of quarters, 2 rolls of dimes and one roll of nickels - less than $50.00 all together. The manager suggested I take the coins to the change machines at Jewel or Wal-Mart. When I pointed out they take at least a 10% fee off the top he just shrugged his shoulders. I worked in banking for most of my career. Customer Service at Fifth Third is non-existent. Needless to say I will be looking for a more customer friendly bank. There are banks on every corner - you would think they would bend over backwards to accommodate customers.
