Upon arrival to the Melanie Martinez concert, the traffic was being directed in an orderly fashion. You have the option to pay in advance for parking. You just have to present your digital ticket. Parking was breeze. There was a long line wrapping around the building. We thought we would have to wait forever to get inside, but staff quickly took charge and directed people (including us) to an entrance. There was a long line to buy merchandise outside. We easily found our seats. I'm not familiar either the layout of this arena, but after visiting it will be easier to navigate around. I was glad we purchased tickets on the 2nd level, because it was packed with people on the first level. The second level was much calmer. They had great food and drink sections. The bathrooms were clean. I didn't see staff directing people to their seats, but it was easy to find without them. Of course, drinks, food, etc are overpriced, but that is expected. They are card only transactions. If you only have cash, you can purchase a card to use. The concert started no second later than the time on the ticket. The first acts were entertaining. Melanie Martinez's performance was good. I'm not a bonafide fan, but my daughter is and she had a great time. The screen to display the performance was needed. The show had great sound, great pyro and the stage was beautiful. We will definitely be back to PNC for other events. read more

I've been to the Atena for serval events over the last decade or more. I've enjoyed the experiences. Parking turned out to be effortless with a pass I was given. The PNC Arena is a bit more strict than the Carter Finely Stadium. After passing other staff members. Another employee said that the clear stadium bag my sister used for all events was not allowed inside the arena. The bag size was over and this was why. We've never had this issue. I had the opportunity to join my employer's suite to watch the 11/10 game of NC. State vs Abilene Christian College. The view from the suite was the best and it's amazing. The staff servicing the suite at the last call was pleasant. This was a win for N.C. State 84-64. I liked how there were TVs in the suite for other games that were currently on TV. Overall, an exceptional experience and I look forward to the next suite experience when given the opportunity. read more

Another great time at PNC! Me and my friends visited to see Megan the Stallion in concert. Getting into the parking lot was a breeze, as well as getting into the venue. They had most of the concessions open as well. Even with so many people there we found our section and seats very quickly. The staff was helpful in guiding us to our seats. Came to PNC back in January to see the Los Angeles Kings play the Hurricanes. Coming in as a Kings fan to see my team and being used to Staples Center, this was a first. We had box seats which made the experience even better. PNC Arena is such a clean and friendly atmosphere. I know Canes fans are die-hard but they are also really cool! The atmosphere inside the stadium is a family atmosphere, with not a lot of trash-talking coming from fans. Staff workers are friendly and eager to assist you. My pre-teen daughter and I had a blast at a recent Hurricanes hockey game. The sound was awesome and we had a nice view even from the nosebleed section (the Jumbotron ensures that). The crowds were hype and the music was on point. We purchased tickets for parking online the day of the event and found parking to be fairly easy. Also, the popcorn and other snacks we enjoyed were good and the concessions lines moved fast. We left a bit before the end of the last quarter and had no problem with getting to our car and leaving the arena without a wait. It was a no-frills experience but that was fine for me because I really was going for the hockey game experience and didn't expect VIP-level accommodations in my nosebleed seats. This was my first hokey game ever and I didn't enjoy this arena much. The seats were very small and tightly packed. I grew up rooting for the Buffalo Sabres, but was happy to switch loyalties to the Canes that day. I was at a company event in the Arena Club prior to the game. I believe they catered the event. The food was a letdown. Their pilaf was pretty much slightly seasoned white rice. The bartenders were friendly and attentive though! I didn't enjoy the fact that every time the opposing team got a penalty, they would play a "cheaters never win" montage. It happened a lot and was very repetitive. However, it was clear they were working to keep the crowd engaged with chants and little activities (like t-shirt guns). As a rookie hockey attendee, I really struggled with parking. I ended up very far away from my entrance and had to walk all the way around the arena to find my car. Finding the VIP entrance wasn't very easy either. For now, I think I'll stick to watching the Canes on TV. It was cool to try it once though! read more

I attended my first North Carolina sporting event tonight for the Hurricanes VS Tampa Bay Lightening hockey game. My company reserved a sky box suite with lovely amenities. The buffet featured hot dogs, burgers, hot wings, loaded tater tots, dessert plates, fruit platters etc. PNC is very much like the arena/stadiums back home. Parking is pretty easy here but it comes with a price. When leaving the lot remember to take a photo and write down your parking section. I got lost when exiting and walked around flustered after the game. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly here. There were no waits at the concession area, metal detectors or when leaving. Even while seated in the lux section of the arena the seats were tight and uncomfortable. I really enjoyed all the fan interaction, the t-shirt canon and the food. My daughter had a blast as this was her first hockey game. She also got to meet the mascot Stormi while he visited our company's sky box suite. This was my first PNC Arena experience under COVID guidelines. Several things to remember before attending ANY event - You must complete a health questionnaire to enter the building. All ticketing is digital. All services are by credit or debit cars only - including parking. There is also a clear only bag policy. Finally face masks are required to attend events. Fortunately, the PNC Staff was efficient in getting folks into the arena while dealing with all of these policies. Once inside, the staff was very helpful in assisting people like me in locating my seat. Be aware parking and concessions are at "arena prices". Translation: not cheap. Audio, arena signage, and the massive view screen are all excellent. read more

Home to the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes, NC State Wolfpack Basketball and a regular parade of concerts and shows, PNC Arena is the Triangle's premier event facility and a fantastic place to enjoy a game. We attend a few Canes games every year and have never been disappointed with the experience inside the arena. Sight lines are great from almost every section, the staff is friendly and helpful, and security lines are fast and efficient. The concession options are also outstanding, with brand-name vendors like Chick-fil-A and Shake Shack on the main concourse and terrific adult beverage options throughout. Most of the Triangle's craft breweries are represented in one way or another (although Trophy Brewing is regrettably absent), and most seats are just a short walk away from a tasty beer. The Club Level could honestly use some improvement in food variety, however, as well as its own craft beer spot. The only real downside to PNC is getting there. Located far from both downtown Raleigh and the NC State campus, it's surrounded by an exurban sea of parking lots and accessible almost exclusively by car. Great for tailgating, sure, but an absolute NIGHTMARE to get in and out of. Make sure you arrive EARLY for games, and prepare for a lengthy exit unless you bolt from your seat at the final horn. It doesn't help that Raleigh closes many of the surrounding roads after games let out, leaving only a few available routes to I-40, so make sure to have a few backup routes available for your drive home. Aside from the nightmarish parking experience, PNC is an outstanding venue that produces a fun, family-friendly environment for hockey games -- and just about anything else. read more

Have attended many events since moving to the area in 2014, unfortunately this'd arena has gone steadily down hill.Prices used to be reasonable,, but last night ( 5-11) was the last straw, $50 to park ? Yes you read that correctly, it's bad enough the price is so outrageous but to add insult to injury they have dozens of people collecting your money when u enter and no one helping clear the lots at events end so there is complete chaos in the parking lots. I attended an NC State vs. Georgia Tech men's basketball game at PNC Arena. Unfortunately, at the game I attended, Tech lost. Since the arena's opening in 1999, Tech has a 6-12 record (.333 win percentage) at PNC. They do, however, currently own a 4-game win streak at PNC dating back to the 2015-16 season, so that's something to be proud of, especially considering the mediocre (at best) state our basketball program has been in for years on end now. I like PNC Arena. It's big with a seating capacity of 19,722 for basketball. The look and size of it reminds me of an NBA arena instead of a college arena. It's a lot bigger than I'm used to. I'm a 15-year Georgia Tech men's basketball season ticket holder and our arena, McCamish Pavilion, holds only 8,600. PNC Arena is technically located on State's "West Campus," but it's relatively far away from the school's central campus (you'd want to travel to PNC by car). It's not like a traditional on-campus arena that you can walk to. That's what State's Reynolds Coliseum, where the women play now and where the men used to play, is. PNC also isn't as intimate as say a McCamish or Cameron Indoor Stadium. It does feel modern and up-to-date though. At the time of writing this review, PNC is the 4th largest men's basketball arena in the ACC (15 teams). Syracuse (Carrier Dome: 35,642), Louisville (KFC Yum! Center: 22,090), and North Carolina (Dean Smith Center: 21,750) have bigger arenas. PNC originally opened as the "Raleigh Entertainment & Sports Arena" before being renamed as the RBC Center from 2002 to 2012. Even though we lost, I had a good time at the Tech-State game. I thought the atmosphere was good/on par for an ACC basketball game. Intense, but not like a rivalry game. Of the college basketball arenas I've been to around the country (as far west at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion), I think PNC is one of the nicer ones. That said, it also feels generic and doesn't seem to have much "character" or anything particularly memorable about it. I think part of that has to do with this arena being shared with an NHL team (Carolina Hurricanes) and it's routinely used for non-NCSU-related events. read more

PNC Arena is more than just a soorts facility - it's just a plain fun place to go! As a disabled person, I appreciate its accessibility. One of its first, most impressive features (to me, anyway, which I realize is not meaningful to anybody but me) is actually the parking! I've gone to venues as much as 4 hours early to be sure I got my car onto a lot and into a space - and needed every teensy second of that window! Perhaps I've just been lucky.... I have never experienced a long, dull, aggravating and/or infuriating wait to get in or out of an event. There are plenty of traffic guards to direct and answer questions. This venue is well-lighted and has wide corridors that are easy to move through even when it's at its most crowded. The signage is easy to read and most helpful for navigation and ease in finding your seat. There are food outlets and restroom in every section. I've never had to wait more than just a few minutes. Restrooms: I'm impressed by the cleanliness and sanitation done by the staff. Yes, it can get a bit messy during sellout events, but I've never experienced the water-covered floors, overflowing trash bins and STINKING conditions at PNC Arena that have been almost customary at other sports/entertainment facilities! The custodial staff does an outstanding job of staying on top of sanitation. Food and Drinks: the refreshments are, of course, high-priced, but nowhere near as badly as some venues (and I've traveled around the nation to concerts and sports events). The quality of the food and drinks is also notable. I've never gotten stale poocorn, crusty Cotton Candy, a fizless watered-down soda or a nasty-tasting hot dog here. The concessionaires have always been polite and friendly even during peak runtimes. Visibility: there really isn't a bad seat in this house. In fact, we really like the "nosebleed" seats in the top tiers because the view and sound quality is excellent AND we can jump around, hoot and holler without getting stink-eyes from other patrons. Sound: it ain't called "The Loudest House in the NHL" for nothin', folks. In my opinion this is a peak portion of the entertainment value, but Grinches will definitely want to bring some earplugs. (Wear them and keep your grinchy grousing to yourself, too, because you're in the minority and we Cool Kids don't wanna hear your crap.) Entertainment Value and Experience: topnotch! The announcers keep things rolling during intermission, their commentary enhances your fun and the Jumbotron is awesome. Catering and Luxury Boxes: I had the wondrous, once-in-a-lifetime experience of viewing a Carolina Hurricanes playoff game from one of these. The experience was nothing short of amazing! The views were spectacular, the seats were beyond comfy and the food delicious! (They served some of the best Potato Salad I've ever eaten!) I don't know what this cost, and can't afford to ask, but if your budget allows and you want to give your Best Buddies an awesome, unforgettable experience - rent one! Came here for a Caps-Hurricane game and enjoyed the venue. I had good seats and where I was, there was a little mini-food court right near the seats so that made it easy to get drinks and snacks. There were also a lot of good food places around the concourses, but I was expecting more variety. Also, the place is in good shape but looks a little dated. One thing that surprised me is that the place is so loud. Those Hurricanes fans really support the team. Public transport to this venue is really lacking. Traffic getting in and out was heavy and of course, parking isn't free. Overall, a decent place. read more

I have been to the PNC arena on several occasions. My favorite time there is seeing the Red Hot Chili Peppers live in concert in 2016. They're my favorite band of all time and as a kid I dreamed of seeing them but never thought I'd see the day. I've also been here to cheer on the Carolina Hurricanes and have spent plenty of time tailgating NCSU football games in the lots. Parking is not great (and pricy) and I wish there were more public transportation options available. Ubers and Lyfts can become pretty expensive, but totally necessary. We actually witnessed a drunk woman hitting someone's car and trying to drive away leaving the RHCP concert.... We stopped her and made sure she was held accountable for her wrong doings but that just goes to show the craziness that can be the PNC arena. My favorite memory, aside from tailgating, is getting both of my COVID-19 vaccines here. The drive-through sites were really quick and simple. Very well done. read more

Otherwise, PNC deserves NO stars based on the fact that we had to pay $30 to park !!!!! Tickets to this event were $65 (plus fees) and then an EXTRA $30 to park !! Come on PNC Arena !! We had not been here in several years to an event and now I know why. We noticed that there were EV car chargers in one of the sections. We approached a parking attendant and ask if we could get in there to plug our car in. THAT SECTION COSTS $60 TO PARK !!!! How can anyone afford to attend ANY event here. It's ridiculous. Know before you go...$20 to park! Which means every single car that drives into that giant lot has to stop and pay. At least they direct traffic well going in. But how much faster would it be if parking was included in the price of the tickets and we could just be directed to a spot? Do know they now are taking credit cards as well as cash, but that doesn't speed anything up. Allow time for parking to happen! This would be a lot easier to swallow if they actually used those highly paid parking attendants to direct traffic OUT after the show. Again, plan accordingly to be patient and you'll be fine. Getting inside: Expect security to check you out. Metal detectors, etc. That's a good/necessary evil for all of us in this day and age. Personally, I'm grateful for it. Inside: If you're lucky enough to have a suite, then you'll probably very much enjoy the suite life, but do know you'll pay accordingly for any treats you might want to indulge in. You will have a personal Server for your suite plus your own bathroom. NICE! TIP: there is even a separate entrance to the coliseum for folks with suite tickets. Of course there's still security, but you'll get in nice and fast. If you're sitting in the general areas, be prepared for usual crowd stuff. People who can't sit still. Who can't find their seats. Who wait until a show has started to even try to find their seats. etc, etc, you know! Fortunately there are ushers to help. If you have seats up in the nose-bleed section, I hope you are not afraid of heights. It is high and it is steep. Acoustics can vary greatly depending on the show and where you are sitting. I've experienced the gamut of good to bad. Food and drink options can be varied and plentiful depending on the show. You will pay accordingly. Overall the coliseum is kept nice and clean. It's well marked, so all you have to do is pay attention to signs and/or ask all the helpful staff if you have questions. read more

Every sports arena has its positives and negatives. PNC's cramped seats unfortunately make it hard if not outrightly impossible to enjoy the experience. I will preface this by saying I am 6 foot 4. So I have come to accept that most spaces are not built for a person of my height. I've travelled to several cities around the country to attend NHL games. PNC sadly takes the cake when it comes to tiny seats. I live in the greater Raleigh area and try to make it to at least a few hockey games every season. Six years ago the games were poorly attended and finding affordable tickets in the lower Loge area or even club level was easy to do. As the team has improved over the last few years attendance has grown and ticket prices have understandably climbed. Last season I purchased seats in the balcony for myself and 4 of my friends to attend a game. Upon arrival at our seats i discovered that the chairs were so tiny that i was physically unable to sit. An already extremely narrow seat was made worse by the fact that someone had the bright idea to install cup holders on the ends of every arm rest. Further narrowing the seat by an additional 3 inches. My wife who is a slender 5 foot 9 found the seats cramped as well. I approached one of the PNC staff members to see if there was any possibility to be relocated. No option was available. I was left to stand in the entry portal to watch the game separated from my group. This season I purchased tickets to a game in the lower section. These were more than double to cost of the upper balcony. Come to find that the seats on the corners of the arena are also extremely small and uncomfortable. At least this time the seat was technically wide enough for me to sit. It appears that only seats along the sides of the arena or within the first few rows from the glass are large enough to comfortably seat someone over 6 feet tall. I will give the staff at PNC credit for having a very clean facility with easy in and out access and parking. Unfortunately, within the last 2 years parking has doubled in cost from $20 for an event to $40. We all know that things have gotten more expensive, but doubling the price on a parking space in the span of 24 months is excessive. It seems at every turn the ownership of the arena are trying to squeeze their patrons for every possible dime, while giving less and less in return for their money. According to the news PNC is planning to renovate the arena in the coming years. I hope they put some thought into the comfort of their customers rather than wedging every possible seat into the space no matter how small. read more

The place for shows, games, concerts, and events. PNC keeps busy hosting a variety of events, redecorating, and staying clean. They have a large parking lot, but it is pricy (expect to pay about $20). Get there early to snag a decent spot. Then be ready for the metal detector, ticket check, and bag check. Although a line builds up at the entrance, the employees checking tickets and bags are efficient so you move through this area in a reasonable amount of time. Inside PNC they have ample bathrooms, various places to purchase food, drinks, and souvenirs, and employees helping direct traffic and assist you with finding your seats. Each employee we interacted with here has been welcoming, helpful, and efficient. The events were appropriately loud and they keep the stadium at a reasonable temperature. The food is pricy and leaving the event can be time consuming, however, that is typical for arenas. Overall, we have enjoyed all of the events attended and recommend this venue to others. I came here to PNC Arena last spring for the Hurricanes - Devils game that clinched a playoff spot for Carolina and ended their long playoff appearance drought. Although I'm a neutral fan of hockey from Florida....I give the Raleigh fans credit. The game was electric and the crowd was energized from the drop of the puck. Lol...I sort of felt like this clinching moment helped spark the deep playoff run that the Hurricanes made last year. But for being my first time in Raleigh, NC and to PNC Arena, I was a fan of this place. I bought my ticket online through Stubhub for $20. I sat in the center part of the upper deck and had fine views. Inside the arena....I wouldn't say that anything really stood out to me....it's your typical hockey venue. Being from South Florida, I've been to plenty of Panthers games at the BB&T Center and in my opinion....this PNC Arena is a virtual replica of BB&T. I honestly wouldn't be able to tell much of a difference between these two hockey coliseums. Just like BB&T, PNC Arena is a stand alone stadium where the only transportation getting here is by car. It's not located in the heart of a downtown major city where you can just take public transportation. So for me coming to the game, I had no issues arriving here. There wasn't much traffic along the freeway getting to this 7pm weeknight game. The complex is actually situated right across the way from Carter-Finley Stadium - home of NC State's college football team. Before heading inside PNC Arena, I walked over to Carter-Finley where at the front entrance to the stadium they featured a mini-enshrinement and Hall of Fame archive to iconic past NC State players like Philip Rivers, Torry Holt and for his brief Wolfpack time - Russell Wilson. That was interesting to look at and read. Getting back to parking, it was your normal $20 like for any sporting and entertainment event. I arrived early at the game and headed inside 1 hour before the start. I then grabbed some pictures around the arena including on the lower ice and then from high above where my seat was located. In regards to food, I can't say much. I just got a pretzel, but looking around at what the concession stands offered....nothing looked too exceptional. Finally like I mentioned in the beginning, the game was fun and exciting. I give credit to the Raleigh fans for really supporting their team and assisting them into the playoffs. Funny being from South Florida, most Panthers game are overrun by the visiting teams fans....and the home crowd never truly gives the love and support to the Panthers, the way I witnessed the allegiance here for the Hurricanes. Who knows if or when I'll return here for a game. I visited Raleigh and ventured south to Charlotte on a whim for a weekend getaway. But my experience and memories here at PNC Arena and for the Carolina Hurricanes will remain a fond one. read more

After moving to the Triangle back in Aug. of 2022, one thing I was most excited about was being in close proximity to PNC Arena, home to the NHL Carolina Hurricanes and NC State Men's Basketball. As a teenager living in Indiana back in the late 90's, coupled with being a hockey fan, I used to watch the 'Canes dominate on TV and always wondered "what the inside of that arena would look like". Well, fast forward almost 3 decades later, and I now have that opportunity to see it for myself many times, if I choose. This past Saturday, I was invited to be a guest at the NC State vs. U. of Miami NCAA Men's basketball game and I marveled again. This stadium may not be the newest, high-tech, modern facility as you see in other cities, but for being almost 30 years old, PNC Arena is well-maintained, clean and spacious. Many locals in the Triangle are calling for more renovations and upgrades to the arena, but that affects local taxes to help pay for it. I don't see the need for these "upgrades" or a "renovation" but I'm also simple and I attend to watch the game at hand...not to critique the limited USB plug-ins or lack of heated recliners as seats. It's easy to navigate through, there are plenty of options to choose from in regards to food and beverage, and the staff has always been kind. I was in Durham for a work training, and it was my luck that the Carolina Hurricanes had a home game on the last night I was in town. I'm an avid NHL hockey fan, plus tickets were super cheap. I didn't think twice about purchasing the tickets. My coworker and I took a Lyft to PNC Arena. The traffic going into the arena actually wasn't bad thanks to the parking lot attendants directing the flow. The ride share dropoff went smoothly and wasn't a total clusterf. PNC Arena felt a lot like my hometown arena, SAP Center. Both were built and opened around the 90s, except PNC Arena was a few years younger. I was also pretty sure that PNC Arena was bigger and could hold more guests than SAP Center. Which arena had the bigger fan base though... no question SAP Center. But hey, I was a Hurricanes fan for the night and had such a blast! The Hurricanes won, and I enjoyed participating in the cheers and jeers. What I liked about PNC Arena the most were the food. I started off with bbq nachos with an amazing side of coleslaw from a small bbq stand. The customer service wasn't all that great (the ladies were clueless and kept asking what I got for my order), but at least the line for it was short. I also got a build your own sundae from a concession spot called Twisted Waffle. I got chocolate banana ice cream in a delicious chocolate dipped waffle bowl, and I had the liberty of topping it with as much stuff as I wanted! The toppings bar included cans of whipped cream, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce, sprinkles, oreo bits, walnuts, and mini M&Ms. Totally worth the $8 for it. read more

DID YOU EVEN SEE THE NCSU VS UNC GAME??? Hell yeah! We won if you didn't already know. Roll pack! I love to go watch basketball games because it reminds me when I used to play, however it's always nice to see your college win an intense game. PNC arena hosts many different sporting events, shows, and music. The security is good to the point where they won't even let you in early no matter the weather conditions. I went with MJ and her family to watch the basketball game, and we had an absolute blast. Sorry to KP that his alma mater lost, but I'm sure he will eventually turn into a state fan! We tried some alcoholic cherry seltzer, and it was actually delicious, except for the price. Lol don't expect to pay less than $10 for a drink, but at a game like this, it's completely worth it. We also got chicken tenders and fries which were pretty good as well. They could work on the parking situation because it takes forever to get out, especially if you don't back in. However, I'm just happy we won. I'll definitely be back to PNC soon to watch state kick more teams out of the NCAA! read more
