The woman at the front desk, Maddie may be one of the most hostile individuals I have ever met. She made us sit in our car to fill out the check in paperwork online even though the was no one else in the building. There were benches in the waiting room, unoccupied. Later there were people sitting on the benches and I asked why we were not allowed to sit before, and she gave me all this attitude and told me I could sit in my car while they my baby gets looked at. Excuse me what. On top of that we did not have good phone service and the online paperwork would not load. They have no alternative paper method so filling out the paperwork online was a pain. You would think workers at a Pediatric faculty would be friendly, but Maddie does not seem to have a friendly bone in her body. read more

Had to bring my daughter here because she found a tick on her. I drive past here all the time and never noticed the urgent care but I'm glad I found it. The online process to setup an appt was quick and easy. They had same day appts, which was great. The receptionists were great, answered all of my questions. We were taken back within 30 minutes of arriving. The nurse came in the room within 15 minutes. We were out of there in an hour! Overall great experience! read more

My little one spiked a fever and our on call nurse suggested we go to the ER. We decided to do Kinder Care. The waiting room was empty, but the front desk did warn there would be about a 40 min wait. We get called to the back and continued to wait and wait. It seemed like they just had every one stashed in a room in the back, because you began to hear noise, kids crying, and movement in the hallway. After 1 hour and 20 minutes the Nurse Practitioner enters. She seemed genuine, caring, and took her time. I guess 80 minute wait time is better than 4 hours at the E.R. read more

If I could rate this terrible place negative stars I would have. Absolutely worst service ever...staff and doctor are very unprofessional and rude. Came in with my son who had a fever and body pains, the doctor took a quick look at him said give him tylenol and then got up to leave the room but not before hitting my son on his head intentionally..then I forgot to ask for a school note so had to drive back to the urgent care to ask for it and once i step in through the doors both staff and doctor burst out laughing like if i was some type of clown or something...very rude and unprofessional. Will never return to this place. They're lucky I was with my son and was more worried about him if not I would have knocked some sense into that so called doctor. read more

First let me say that when this business was kinder mender the experience was vastly different and exceeded our expectations. With the new brand, the system is flawed. They encourage you to schedule an appointment online which when you arrive to find out it's not really an appointment. We were told we had three people ahead of us who had walked in and did not have an appointment plus one more scheduled appointment. Specifically, we would have to wait for all those people prior to being seen. We were told by the receptionist that making an appointment DOES NOT give you priority. Upon exiting the facility since we were told we cannot sit inside even though there was ample space to sit in the waiting area and appropriately socially distance, we exited to our vehicle. We then decided to leave as four patients ahead of us and waiting 45 minutes with an appointment ( which we heard her tell the patient ahead of us and she confirmed with us) was excessive. We then left for Patient First as they had no wait to then receive a text within fifteen minutes that we were ready to be seen. See the problem here! Why tell us we had all those ahead of us, the wait time to be completely off. In addition, I called their office to share our frustration to receive a voicemail to leave a message for their Patient Experience team, which in turn stated to email them....poor experience is what they mean. Their system is flawed. They do not know how to manage patting traffic. Appointments should take priority, not the order people arrive. To the new owners, I would suggest taking a page out of Kinder Menders leadership book as they were significantly more equipped to run an urgent care facility. read more

Unacceptable experience began after appointment. Kinder's front desk did not fax prescription to pharmacy as they said they would. Pharmacy then informed me that the doctor's prescription called for the incorrect dosage for a 19 month old. I attempted calling Kinder to address. It was then I found Kinder's operation is to route all phone calls to a recorded answering service after call center hours. Mind you this was at 12pm and the location hours run through 10pm. As a result of their recorded service, I was unable to immediately contact anyone about their error for a prescription I needed filled same day. To rectify I had to drive back to the location. 40 minutes taken in travel alone. Upon arrival, the front desk staff were talking amongst themselves as their were no patients to assist. They clearly had the bandwidth to answer a phone. Unfortunately Kinder implemented a non-customer centric system. After reviewing the pharmacy's concern, the doctor admitted his mistake with the prescription. His reasoning was along the lines of slipping with a decimal point. read more

Patients are NOT allowed to wait inside their waiting room. Everyone must wait in their cars even on hot days. I LOVED this place so much, I want to open a franchise. My 20 month old and I were in and out in less than 20 minutes....SERIOUSLY. His required meds were INCLUDED in the office visit cost and filled right there. The environment is so kid friendly and clean. Better than my pediatricians office...and we go to a pretty well known doctor in Howard county. Fancy cars moonlighting as patient tables, mounted tv's playing kid appropriate movies, art work on all the walls of animals et al. When an ER visit is not quite necessary and the pediatrician is unavailable, I will be visiting this place. read more

Update: 06/05/16: love this place, so much improvement over the last year or so. I keep adding stars! Very convenient, easy to walk in to, excellent customer service and easy to get quick exams and things done. Their Columbia location is actually a very nice one. The staff is wonderful and the doctor did everything she could to resolve a complicated immunization issue. website says no Copay for Covid testing but the staff wouldn't follow there own policy and wouldn't give my son a test without me paying $50 copay even though my insurance doesn't have that. Then when I called the number given to me to get this resolved the voice mail said the office was closed even though it was within the stated hours of operation on the voicemail. Came in on a Saturday evening with 2 sick kids. I was literally in and out in less than an hour... probably about 35mins total. The office staff were amazing, thorough and just overall pleasant. Dr. Toro was gentle with my kids, very friendly, quick, answered all of our questions (even those from our 5 and 7yr old). I am now going to make this our children's PCP. I have nothing but great things to say about Kinder Mender. I have taken my 18 month old here three times over the past six months. One time we just got reassurance about a minor virus he had. The other times he had an ear infection and hand swelling, still relatively minor issues when you think about it. Both of those times we got calls from the doctor and NP just to check on him to see how he was doing, truly exceptional care. There's hardly ever a wait and they do a thorough job. I came here late one night last summer for my daughter. She had ear pain which was from teething , (but at the time we didn't know what it was from.) The place was clean, friendly and professional. We had to come here because we are from out of state and a regular doctors office wouldn't see her. If we have to, we will come back. My husband and I brought our 9 month old son there yesterday. The wait was close to nothing as no one was there. The male doctor we saw was not very friendly. He was cold and not understanding of our concern for how our infant was feeling. When the doctor saw us he rushed through the exam so fast, we were in the room with him for probably 3 minutes max. My son was there because he had been crying uncontrollably for about three hours and was very hot and clammy. The doctor literally looked in his ears for a split second (I don't even know how well of a look he got since my son was squirming and he seemed annoyed at my husband for not holding him down...) You would think a nurse would he in there to help. He didn't sit my son on the bed/ table to look him over NOTHING! The exam was pretty much...Barely peek in ears and getting told he probably has a little bug! He didn't look my son's body over, didn't look in his nose or throat, didn't look my son over at ALL! It was like he couldn't be bothered wasting his time on us. When we tried to ask him questions, the doctor acted like we were foolish for asking them and seemed like we were annoying him for asking. He had horrible bedside manner. It was a complete waste of a copayment! Again, we were in the room with the doctor for 3 minutes MAX! It was a horrible experience. My son felt miserable the entire night, blaring crying and sweating all evening. We left a voicemail for our regular pediatrician to see him in the morning...If you want the doctor to actually act like they care and give two cents about how your child feels, take them elsewhere please. read more

I brought my daughter here Tuesday morning to have here ear checked since she kept us up all night. Although they opened a few minutes late, we were in and out in about 20 minutes and they provided me with the antibiotic she needed before we left, so I didn't have to get any prescriptions filled. I came here for the first time today because my daughter hadn't been feeling well. This office is extremely clean from the waiting area to the patient exam rooms. We were seen within 5 minutes. I hadn't even had a chance to finish filling out the new patient forms when we were called. The staff was very friendly from the receptionist, the medical assistant and the nurse practitioner. They recommended that we come back in 2 days for a quick followup and informed me that we wouldn't have to pay another copay for the followup visit! We've always been charged additional copays at her PCP. I would definitely come back and recommend to others. read more

Can't say enough good things about this place! Professional staff, great doctors, flexible hours all with a kid-friendly atmosphere. The wait times are posted on the website and seem fairly accurate. You can get tests results immediately and x-ray on site. If any medicines are prescribed, the pharmacy is on site as well. It is so worth it to be able to take my sick baby home after a doctor visit instead of to the pharmacy - all for the same co-pay I pay to see my PCP. They have convenient reserved parking spaces right in front of the entrance as well, making it easy to get in and out while carrying my child. So thankful to have an option like this when my kids are sick! read more

This was my first experience with a pediatric urgent care facility. My son had been feeling under the weather for several days, and due to the flu outbreak I was unable to get him an appointment at our regular doctor's office in a reasonable amount of time. The nurse from my doctor's office who had called me back and recommended that I get my son seen somewhere told me to expect potentially hours of waiting due to the flu outbreak. One of the things I love about KinderMender is that they show the wait times for all of their locations on their website. That is extremely helpful! I had already called Patient First to find out how long of a wait they had and it was about an hour or so. The wait at any of the KinderMender was less than 30 minutes. We chose the Laurel location due to convenience. Even though it was our first time at any of the locations, the check-in process was pretty simple and quick. The waiting area was a nice size with lots to entertain children including a play area, a television, and an electric train running overhead (my son especially loved how it goes through a tunnel in the wall!). We were taken back to a room probably within 10 minutes of arriving at the facility. They have a TV in each room and were able to prop my son up and keep him comfortable, however we didn't have to wait very long until the physician's assistant came in to see us. She was great with my son, and quickly (but in no way was she rushed) diagnosed him with an ear infection (which was what I had suspected, wrote us a prescription and we were on our way. Our entire visit was less than 30 minutes! I actually joked with my husband that I wondered if we could be seen there all the time because that's quicker than we get seen at our regular doctor! It was a great experience that definitely exceeded our expectations. The cherry on the top was that here it is, not quite 48 hours after our visit, and I just received a call from the office checking on my son to see how he was feeling after his visit. Seriously. Major kudos. I highly recommend this place. Hopefully we won't need to, but if we do need to, I would definitely return to this location. read more

This is a great pediatric urgent care/primary care facility! I have taken my 18-month old son here for what turned out to be ear infections twice, and croup another time, and each time, we went around 9am and didn't have to wait at all! After taking my son's name at the receptionist area, we were called right back to get him weighed and then get settled in one of the rooms. All of the staff have been very nice and friendly and helpful with my concerns. I haven't had to use the evening hours yet, but feel great that we have that option, and for urgent care on the weekends. I have made the personal choice to go here in situations where my son has been sick, instead of going to our primary care pediatrician in Columbia, just out of convenience and the fact that I can walk in without an appointment, with very little wait and be seen! I also like the fact that Kindermender provides some medications, like amoxicillin, as part of the service, with no need to go to the pharmacy afterwards. I would recommend this place to everyone! read more

I only leave reviews when someone stands out, and I think they really do. We used them as our primary care for a few months when we were new to the area, as well as for urgent care a few times. Every single time we came, the office was extremely clean, the staff was nothing but friendly and prompt, and we never even had a chance to take off our coats before we were taken back. They do free follow up checks when your child is sick, and they can provide antibiotics right there. We just found a different PCP closer to our new home, but will definitely continue to come here for urgent care (can't beat those hours!) read more

The staff was very nice when we went to check out my daughter's cold so we made them our primary care. When i had my second baby i asked if they do newborn care/evaluation they said yes. Since we had a birth center birth we needed PKU and blood work done. They did the PKU and didn't have any equipment for newborn therefore sent us to ER. The PKU came back inconclusive b/c they didn't get enough blood so i had to get that done at a real pediatrician office. Besides, they refused care for my newborn bc he didn't get hepatitis B and vitamin K at birth and they said we like to follow the cdc guidelines and will not change the schedule under any circumstances. I was very disappointed b/c my daughter didn't get hep B at birth but yet they took her in. I just wanted the hep B to be given at 2months which every pediatrician i visited was willing to do so. I will not recommend them as a primary care. Go to Dr. Anthony,James in columbia if u want to be cared for the right way. read more
