    Egyptian red lentil soup
    Rima Z.

Cozy little neighborhood cafe. Unusual menu offerings and warm and friendly service. I've always wanted to try a middle eastern style of lentil soup, so was happy to try this version. Thick and creamy, with strong cumin flavor. A squeeze of lemon would have brightened it nicely. A tasty breakfast alternative. My friend let me try her sausage sandwich - the sausage has a great flavor. Delicious sandwich combo.

    Acai cup 7/24

Just 7 minutes walk to the space needle. It was convenient and super fast. It's a tiny place with small fridges housing drinks, snacks, and quick pastries. I grabbed an acai cup. It has a good variety of fruit and acai which was topped with coconut flakes. The guy at the counter was nice and super quick. It was a bit pricey though but needed in hot weather.

Bacon, egg and cheese on everything bagel with turkey bacon and freshly cracked egg with melted cheese. Snickers Signature Latte!

If you're looking for good coffee and breakfast, definitely recommend! Also, has lunch options and smoothies. Very delicious and healthy options! 10/10!!

    Hashbrown

The smoothie was really pretty good and so were the hashbrowns. I think they do breakfast all day which is also nice. The server was super friendly and efficient despite being the only one working and having quite a few orders. For ambiance it's in the bottom of an apartment complex next to the escape rooms, so it's a bit small but cozy with eclectic decor. They have free WiFi too if you're looking for a spot to work off the beaten path but still close to downtown.

This is a great breakfast place for a quick juice or bite to eat. I've had their blueberry oatmeal smoothie and their green power smoothie. Both were good. For food, I've had their hash browns and lox bagel, which I enjoyed.

Amazing food. Look for their homemade vegan/GF/ muffins, they are healthy and taste great. They bake them fresh every couple hours. Blueberry sells out quick. I tried the lentil soup and fresh ingredients made a difference. Good health conscious cafe. Fresh organic options, sandwiches were great! Really pleasantly surprised, will go back!!

Because it was hot and sweaty, a big sea of people were waiting both outside and inside this place, and I saw only about 5 or so staff members making all the drinks. There's only two tables and two benches to sit at on the right-hand side of the place; otherwise, the rest of the space is behind the counter where all the drinks are made and the strong aromatic aroma of tea fills the interior. From my visit here, I think you can only place orders either through their lone kiosk to the left-hand side of the entrance near a corner, or by scanning the QR code at the front of the entrance and following prompts on your phone. Staff was too busy making drinks to take orders at the front counter when I was inside. Either way, you have to use the HeyTea app to scan a QR code (on the receipt you get after placing your order) if you want to see an estimate on when your drink(s) will be ready. By the time I signed up for an account and downloaded the app using the slow 5G, my estimated time was 25 minutes; however, the wait for my triple supreme matcha latte (with extra matcha, less sugar and all other things in their recommended settings) ended up being more than 45 minutes as I walked around the perimeter and waited inside and outside this location as well. It was really chaotic trying to get my drink once it was ready; people were cutting in front of me and others to show staff their receipt and pick up their orders even though I was in front of the line. Taste wise though, the matcha is a strong ceremonial blend with grassy tones that actually caught me by surprise. That's because they have a matcha cheese cloud which I thought would have dulled the matcha taste but it didn't! There's also matcha mochi and what tasted like matcha jelly on the bottom which further strengthened the earthy tones. Probably because it was really hot as of this writing, the ice melted much fasted than usual so that's out of this place's control and therefor doesn't detract from my experience itself. Wait here was really long for just one drink but I'm thankful there's something you can use to see when your drinks are ready - in this case, their HeyTea app. I would probably only come back if I was around the area, though wait times for drinks might deter me from doing so altogether.

Unfortunately, neither one was for me, but I can definitely see why they're popular with younger customers. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and very fast with preparing the drinks. I've only tried their chocolate and regular waffles, as well as a few of their tea options. Compared to the tea, the waffles and toppings are very mellow in flavor, while the drinks can be quite sweet. I haven't tried reducing the sweetness because I like the way they make their tea--at least, the ones I usually get. I prefer their fruit-flavored teas over the milk-based ones, but the milk-based options are also good. The inside is small and clean, with plenty of seating and enough separation for a bit of privacy if you're with a date. The place is very well lit, and you can watch the workers as they prepare everything. The workers are almost always pleasant and communicate well. However, on my last visit, they actually made me upset. I didn't say anything, but let's just say I had to wait to get my order after everyone else received theirs, even though I had ordered for three people. This meant they got their items, and I got mine after them, along with other random waiting customers, and even those who showed up in the next ten minutes. That was frustrating. Either way, it's just a simple snack, nothing extremely fancy like soufflé cheesecakes. Oh, and the parking stinks, but what else is new downtown / slu? At least there's plenty to do in this area, which makes coming here much easier as I often find myself already planning to hang out nearby. The beautiful surroundings and the restaurant being about one story up mean great views while you indulge.

If you're going to refuel in Seattle, this is prime territory. Now let's talk bowl. I'll be honest -- walking in, it felt a little... franchisey. Order-from-a-screen energy. Minimal small talk. Not quite the warm hug of a family-owned neighborhood gem. I was concerned. Then the bowl arrived. Ordered the Vervacious Bowl (Large, obviously -- I refuse to learn). And I LOVED it.
