I travel frequently for work and tend to get my hair cut based off of the city I am in and the Yelp reviews they have. I judge Yelp reviews based off of: * How many reviews they have. * What the positive reviews say. * What the negative reviews say. * What the middle reviews say. * What common trends and comments I observe. * How the organization responds to both positive and negative comments. (Hoping regardless what the comment is that there is heart for the customer involved - ya... I know that isn't always easy) Anyways, I love my small town and the more I have settled in to living here I wanted to commit to small businesses in my own town without sacrificing my own standards... I kept seeing the same posts floating around "I'm new in town and I want to find my Forever Salon". I thought "MEEEEE TOOOOOO!" Time after time I saw Plush Salon come up in comments. Yet - I kept seeing only 6 reviews and couldn't trust it. I mean... that could be someone's Mum posting over and over 6 times. Anywho... After reading comments on Whitman Pride FB page time after time (and feeling complete exhaustion from traveling) I decided "what's the worst that would happen? I pin my hair up for 6-1010101010 weeks?" I decided it was worth it. I set an appointment and was pleasantly surprised by the urban, loft, cutting edgb feel I feel in most high priced salons around the country. I mean... what? This is in Whitman? I was still hesitant. I mean... it's a new salon. Who wouldn't be? Michele greeted me at the door with a relaxed and pleasant energy. It wasn't trying too hard - it was confident and relaxed. She wasn't my original person I booked an appointment with - but I was early and she said she could work with me if I would rather not wait. (Wait! What! Why don't you have an appointment?!? Am I going to get botched? (Normal Salon thoughts) I lucked out. Turns out you luck out like crazy no matter who you get. This place is riddled with hair artists. They are busy and want to accommodate. I was there early and Michele took me. You get the normal wash... then the consultation is more than the "so what are you looking for". She used words that showed experience. My fine hair has: * layers with bounce and volume * my ends have thickness (different type of layering) * I got an amazing glimpse into her magic around color On top of it all - I didn't want to cry with my waxing. Try Plush. I am a reviews fanatic. And it crushed my system of finding a fantastic salon. read more

the lovely lady who cut my hair, i found out was the owner. she was very nice, but her personality is definitely "cool." and i mean that in the hip factor, not treatment. i always felt a little bit like the nerd getting her hair cut by the cool girl in school. but in a good way. i blew off a couple of appointments and i feel bad, cos i've since moved to boston. so i thought i would write this review to let the girls know that they are doing a good job. i regret not getting the back of my head shaved one last time before i moved so i could apologize for not meeting my last appointment. read more

Used to exclusively use Plush. But they just treat their clients so poorly. I showed up 10 minutes early to my noon appointment. No one said a single word to me. Not even a please sit down and we'll get to you when we can. No one took my coat, offered me a drink, or even told me they were running so late. I then sat there for 30+ minutes until my phone died and still no one said a word to me. So I walked out. If they had just said sorry, we're running late, I would have stayed. If you're going to charge higher end prices, you better treat your clients better than you treated me. You'd get better service at a Super Cuts to be totally honest. read more

Trusting her judgment is one of the best decisions I've ever made. The place itself is upscale with a down to earth vibe and the latest and greatest in stylistic interests. Just moved to Boston from Georgia. Even there, never had a certain place that I went to to get my hair done, I would just go wherever I was close to that particular day. That has changed. This place was great. It was clean and bright, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. Courtney did my hair and she did an amazing job. She listened and she is so sweet! Anytime I have gone to get my hair done, the staff gave always tried to push hair products on me. She suggested one and showed it to me and I told her if it worked I would be back (my hair is weird- most of the time these products don't usually work) she said it would work and I would be back and she was right!! We will definitely be back, not just for this miracle hair product she found (ha-ha) bit for future hair cuts for me and for my teenage daughter who I think will absolutely love Courtney! read more

New to the S. Shore & I was looking for a new salon/hair stylist. I happened to come across Plush, walked in & received a very nice welcoming greeting (from 3 lovely ladies) , we talked about what I was interested in doing with my hair & she (my new hair stylist Michele) immediately new right away what I was thinking. I was so happy she had an opening within the following next 2 days. The day finally comes & I'm excited & nervous, I walked in & they automatically knew who I was, the salon was busy it was a Saturday afternoon & Michele called me over & we discussed my hair further (let's just say, this chick knows what the hell she's doing) because my hair was in such bad shape it took about 5hrs (normal time) because of the many treatments I had to do, which I knew way before hand, do to the shape my hair was in. And she nailed my hair so perfectly. The price was extremely reasonable, the salon itself is awesome inside, very spacious. They offer high end hard to find quality hair products (and makeup). This will forever be my new hair salon & I'm so lucky Michele was there that day when I 1st walked in!!! read more
