When I asked a simple question about a product, she shrugged and said," I don't know, ask your stylist." It felt like I was interrupting her social media scrolling. The best neighborhood salon and spa around. I have had a lot of experience going to hair salons in my 84 years of life. Ok, I didn't go as a youngster, but I have been to salons locally, in town Boston and to salons in various suburbs around the Boston metropolitan area. So believe me when I say that Total Image Day Spa is professional, knowledgeable, attractive, and always clean. The staff is friendly and never put-on. Of course, I must tell you that I have been going to a stylist there named Ann Malamphy. She is kind, creative, and quite competent in her field. I never worry about going there wondering how things will turn out. You can put yourself in her hands and just relax. She knows what you need and how to accomplish it. read more

Complete rip off. Went in for highlights and a trim. The bill was close to $400. I almost died. Ask for prices before you get anything done there!! The stylist didn't do what a wanted. Left there completely unhappy and felt taken advantage of. I will not recommend this place EVER read more

I have been going to the Total Image Salon for over 17 years. Every time I walk in I immediately get that hometown feel. I am always offered tea and treated by all the staff with the utmost kindness. I started out with Henri who is an amazing, kindhearted, funny, and very accomplished stylist. When I decided to add highlights, he thoughtfully advised me to go to Danielle who is so talented with color (and also incredibly gracious). I love my highlights! As the Covid pandemic persisted and my hair grew longer, I wondered when I would be able to safely get my hair cut again. I booked an appointment in mid June and was relieved to see how the salon had thoughtfully remodeled to meet the most up-to-date standards of care. I was asked not to come in if I was sick and I was required to wear a mask. They had created an outdoor waiting area and a system that you would be called from your car when your stylist was ready for you. My temperature was taken at the door and I was provided hand sanitizer. The salon had been rearranged so that every stylist was spaced over 15 feet apart. The appointments were staggered to minimize the amount of clients in the salon at any given time. The gowns were disposable to prevent infection and they were cleaning thoroughly after each client. They had thought of everything which made me feel more relaxed. I highly recommend this salon! read more

I am writing this in regard to finally a reputable owner who is looking to make good name for himself. I had a coupon that I received from MyUncleVinny and Smart Circle cards and that the deal I had received wasn't warranted. However, Henry, the owner made good on the coupon promise while (as I understand it) their lawyers duked it out. I would like to contrast that to some other spas in Boston which sell gift certificates, then decide not to honor them (just look that the reviews online). I'm looking forward to my day at the Total Image Day Spa since the owner made it a point to be so customer friendly. read more

I've had my hair cut by the owner, Henry, for over 10 years now. I don't trust many people with my hair, but Henry is the exception. The whole staff is knowledgable, friendly, skilled and it's got such a good hometown feel with reasonable prices. There's no place I'd rather get my ears lowered. I love the Total Image! Looks can be deceiving. This place looks like a regular house from the outside, so be sure to not drive past! They are not trying to be super fancy and trendy with their decor, instead, they put their heart and soul into their services! Laura has been styling my hair since she first started there, about 8 years ago. She is young and fresh and is willing to listen to your needs, but gives her expertise as well. Everyone is very friendly and everyone who is coming and going always knows one another. So nice to see smaller places with a personal touch. read more

Such an amazing salon. It has a great family vibe where everyone knows each other and everyone makes you feel right at home. The selection of products for purchase are great and at great prices. They also have a lot of specialty services like: Keratin hair treatments and hair extensions that you can't find just anywhere. I have been going to my hairstylist Laura since she started about 7 years ago, and I would never go to anyone else, she always knows exactly what I want and really listens to her clients needs, she is also very friendly, as is everyone there! My sister and I took our Mom there for her 50th birthday. The 3 of us decided on facials, massages and manicures. Tricia the massage therapist is SUPERB! She got knots out I didn't know I had. All in all it was a great bargain and great service. But it is a no frills spa so don't expect it. read more
