I had a very disappointing experience with Jenn. My hair ended up much shorter than we had discussed, and the color pulled a significant amount of copper despite my specifically requesting that any red tones be toned down. What was most frustrating was that when I expressed my concerns, I felt like they were dismissed rather than addressed. Throughout the appointment, Jen seemed distracted, and I never felt that she was truly listening to what I wanted. As the appointment went on, I also felt that she became frustrated when I spoke up about the results. I left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and unheard. I don't know whether she was having a bad day, was distracted by other things, or if this is her usual approach with clients, but the experience felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. Where to begin.. Called last year to inquire about hair extensions and was told to wait longer postpartum so that all my hair would have fallen out and I wouldn't have any issues. i had two other consultations directly after and neither had any concern about my postpartum timing. I then got sew in wefts two weeks later. I decide to try this place again a year later and ask if they can layer my clip in extensions. I'm told no one feels comfortable... also a bit strange but okay. I decide I'll just get a haircut.. which leads me to my final point of being told that children under 12 aren't allowed at the salon. I'm currently a stay at home mom and my daughter usually sits in a stroller... absolutely no issue at any salon I've gone to... anywho I'll be driving back into Boston to get my hair done where folks have normal policies. read more

Verde!!! Where do I start? First upon arrival they have a parking lot in the back with a convenient entrance. I was greeted and checked in by the lovely receptionist. She told me to have a seat and my stylist would be with mw shortly. Dana came right out, introduced herself in a warm and inviting manner. We went to her booth, I told her I needed grey coverage and my grown out highlights to be blended and touched up. I had went 3 years. I scheduled a 3 hour app appointment. When she started foiling I couldn't believe how fast and effortlessly she was. I was wearing a heavy partial in an hour, nice head massage at the sink. The blow dry was the best I've EVER had, I have a-lot of fine curly hair, that no one seems to be able to get the root straight. I did like going to this salon as it is nice, clean and a bigger space than where they were. My stylist was on maternity leave and had recommended someone while she was away. Unfortunately due to Covid I had to reschedule my late December appointment and rescheduled over the phone for late January just to be safe and it worked out perfectly as I was going away that following week. I received the text confirmation and all was well or so I thought. When I showed up they said they didn't have my appointment , I even showed them the confirmation text and all I got was a sorry can't help you. They offered to reschedule for the following week which didn't work for me. I thought they'd try and squeeze me in, at least be a little more apologetic, maybe offer a discount for my next appointment, but nothing. Every part of your wedding day is so important and every single vendor plays a huge role. Verde did my hair as well as the MOH, MOB and 4 of my bridesmaids and to say they did amazing was an understatement. My hair fully stayed in tack the whole night and it was rainy, sweaty and every other time of summer weather you could imagine. I tried Verde for the first time yesterday and I definitely will return! I had an appointment with Tia, who was amazing. First, I love their booking system. It was easy to make an appointment for a time and day that worked for me. Second, you fill out a form and upload pictures about what you'd like your hair to look like. As soon as I got there, she asked me what I liked about the pictures and clarified with me what would work well in her opinion. And I'm so glad she did! We ended up going longer on the side bangs and I'm so pleased with them. Tia is professional and super meticulous. She took her time to cut off my dead ends, create beautiful layers, and then after my hair was dry - went back and perfected areas she spotted that looked too "heavy". After years of trying to chase being a beige/blonde my over-processed bleached and highlighted hair started to severely fall out and break off at the ends. I have tried almost everything under the sun to save my hair. Nothing was working and it was causing me to become very depressed and isolated. I could no longer wear my hair down normally and walk out of my house and feel like a normal person. Every day I would have to try to hide my damaged hair by struggling to put it up in a messy bun with a synthetic bun hair piece so it would look like I had hair. And if I needed to get dressed up for an event or a night out I was always having to buy either synthetic or human hair clip-ins or halos to camouflage my damaged hair. I finally had enough and did some research and made an appointment at Verde Salon for a consult in hopes of coming up with a solution. I met with owner, Deanna who is an absolute doll! She really understood me and was very informative and knowledgeable. After my consultation I decided to give Great Length Extension a try. I can't even describe the relief & joy I felt when I first saw my hair after my extensions were put in. It was very emotional. I finally felt like a normal human being again. My wife has been to Verde Salon several times and had a very good experience and felt very good there. She comes all the way from Brookline. Today, she received some very tough news about her family overseas and eventually ended up leaving late for her appointment and called after hitting terrible traffic on 93 and was told that her appointment had been cancelled and that there was no reason for her to come...no options, no choices and no understanding. It made what was already a bad day for her even worse. She offered to wait patiently until they might be able to fit her in but the answer was simply a big fat no. I don't know how a salon can assign an apprentice stylist and not have a manager or a senior stylist there to oversee them. I have short layered hair and had an appointment Friday for a wash and blow dry. I was in from Florida and can not do my own hair due to a shoulder injury. The Apprentice had no clue how to blow out my hair. No one would help her. She told me that she'd never worked on that type of cut before. What are they teaching in school? It's a very basic cut. Just went to Verde Salon for my first time this past week to follow Kim B who left a salon in Southie. The first time I met Kim I was just getting my hair cut and I was talking about how I had never gotten highlights and wanted to, but was nervous. After chatting with Kim she seemed like she knew exactly what I wanted so I scheduled an impromptu partial highlight appointment and OMG was it fabulous. I'm a natural blonde and was nervous to go blonder and not have it look streaky but the results were more than I could've hoped. Also, Kim is phenomenal at lobs/ bobs. Now that Kim has moved to Verde I most certainly followed because it's hard to find someone who listens and provides this excellent service for both cut and color. Verde was so accommodating to me as I had to postpone my wedding due to COVID and they worked with me to ensure I felt beautiful during my trial and my big day! I see Tia and she is so knowledgeable, friendly, and overall amazing! She always listens to what I'd like done and gives solid input on what a style or cut would do for my hair type and lifestyle.
