I wish i could give zero stars she was beyond unprofessional. I made an appointment for 9am Friday morning. She text me at 8:15am to make sure I was still coming. I let her know that I was 10 minutes away. Unbeknownst to myself she lives in the building next to the salon. Not only did she not show up on time she wasn't even prepared to work. I explained the night before my situation with my child so i expected some type of transparency. She just disregarded all that not to mention i have graduation Saturday. I have been going to this salon on and off for years. For the most part, years ago, she has done good work. However, very unprofessional. Cecil will give you a time change this time several times and keep you in the shop all day. Most recently, she braided my hair, which I purchased all my hair, the braiding hair and wavy human, which most of my hair she brushed to death, and it was all over the floor. She did the same with my human hair. I purchased more than enough hair, and she ran out. Because my hair was all on the damn floor, then she used these short pieces of wet and wavy hair she had left in her drawer to fill in. After my hair was done, she ruined my wavy human hair with some conditioner she put on it. However, saw a picture the other day of someone's hair she did in the style I wanted that day and there hair was beautiful compared to mine that looked like a child did it. I've been coming to First Class Braiding Salon since September of 2014 and I love it! I'm so glad there is a shop closer than Boston since I live in Randolph and work in Quincy. So far I have gotten single braids, partial & full weaves, and touched up Senegalese twists. Cecile and her crew work efficiently and they are so sweet. It's taken me a while to write this review due to the traumatic experience I encountered at this establishment. If I could rate this place with negative stars I would. On Saturday 8/15/15 @ 8am, I arrived at First Class Hair Braiding on Hancock Street in Quincy, MA to get my hair braided. I was told it would only take 4 hours to complete since I'm currently 7 months pregnant. She told me that it wouldn't be a problem and she'll have 2 people braiding my hair. 2 people started braiding my hair and an hour later I only had one person doing my braids. I kept asking how much longer once the 4 hours was up, but I was told another hour and a half each time. At 2pm, My husband had to work so I had to have my daughter with me since this was taking so long. My 3 year old daughter got restless after an hour of sitting. Next thing I know the owners husband is grabbing my daughter's legs and arms forcing her to sit down. I literally had to tell him to stop three times to make him stop touching my daughter. I told him that it's not ok to touch peoples children. Then, his wife (Cecile/ Akouvi-who was doing my hair) was telling me to have my daughter sit in front of me. I did but then she couldn't see the TV or hear it. As the owner (Cecile/Akouvi) was on the phone doing my hair, my daughter asked me to turn the volume up so she can hear it at least. I proceeded to tell my daughter that I can't touch the owners TV and to wait. In the middle of that conversation Cecile's husband got in my face and started yelling at me and disrespecting me in all ways possible. I wasn't even talking to him. I was trying to keep my daughter calm and well-behaved besides the circumstances. I then said that's enough I'm leaving. I begin to grab my stuff with still an unfinished hairstyle. Cecile said, "So you're just going to leave? Leave then, at least let me take my clips out. I stopped to let her to cooperate. Then she held the door so I couldn't leave after she just told me to leave. I moved her hand and then proceeded to leave because I feared what she was going to do next. I walked to my car and put my daughter in. Before I could get in the car completely or try to sit in the car Cecile came running out of her shop with scissors after me. She started pulling on my door and waving the scissors to cut me and my hair. I stood out of the car at this point trying to block my face and stomach so my unborn son wouldn't get hurt. She cut up my fingers. Bystanders grabbed her and pulled her off of me, and called the police. The husband took a picture of my license plate and said, "we're gonna get you." When the police came and took down the information and confirmed Cecile did have scissors I did advise them of what happened along with her cutting my fingers. They even gave me bandages for my cuts. The witnesses (Tara +18575264247) kept asking why aren't you arresting this lady who attacked a pregnant woman with her kid in the car. They said it's 2 complaints and we weren't here so we don't know what really happened. The witness then asked so if you seen a pool on the ground of blood from her baby and Cecile admitting she did come at her with scissors then would you arrest her? They couldn't answer that. They did not arrest her. I tried to get a police report copy as the victim since they said Saturday that I could pick it up Monday. In which is today at the Quincy Police department. The Quincy police department told me that I can't have one if it's going to court. Nonsense to me since everyone I know always gets a police report prior to their court date. I'm petrified that these people with show up at my house or terrorize me and my family. I have PTSD and always looking in my rearview mirror. I'm also at home fidgeting and looking outside my window in concern. I've even been out of work due to stress and anxiety along with seeing a therapist. More importantly I don't want this to happen to someone else. Let alone being pregnant or being promised a service that isn't rendered. read more

Cecile has been doing my hair for months now and I can honestly say that she's the most fun, talented stylist that I've ever encountered. I didn't think I could find a black hair salon in Quincy but, Finding Cecile was a godsend! She is always super friendly and flexible. She's an expert braider and makes the cutest styles. The shop is clean and colorful and super easy to access. Think it's time I write my review for this place. I've been here twice now, stoked that there is finally a hair braiding salon in Quincy. I didn't have to take buses and trains anymore to travel to Ashmont or Dorchester. First time I came, I was told to come in at 8 am. I thought that was great because the earlier, the better. My husband offered to drop me off. Got there and the salon was closed. I called my husband back so I can wait in the car with him, figuring that maybe I was just early even though it was a few minutes after 8 but no biggie. I called the owner and she told me someone was supposed to be there already but since not she had to hurry to bring her kids to the salon and take a cab. My husband and I just went to the cafe across the street to get breakfast while we waited. After much time, I called again and she let me know she was in the cab. I began to think this is unprofessional but knowing how bad travel is in Boston I let it go. It was well after 9:30 by the time she came but she was apologetic and went right to work on my hair. I got senegalese twists done that day (never had them before) and they came out fun and flirty. I was pleased; they were not too small, not too big either, and paid $180. Months passed and I decided to go again, this time for box braids. I had box braids done many times before so I knew the exact size I wanted and style. They let me choose the size and I said I wanted it only half way braided and the rest dipped in hot water to make wavy. The owner then came and spoke to the lady in French then told me to do the smaller. I was like, "That's too small. I need it bigger." She insisted over and over again that the small would be best because my ends were short. Finally I gave in and now I wish I hadn't. I used to live in Bronx, NY and got my hair braided by one lady there who was super quick and did my braids much bigger when my hair at the time was completely damaged and short. I used to only get charged $120 for it too. My hair has since improved with a lot of volume now. It took about three women to do my hair at this place. I noticed that the ones in the front were braided too long down than the ones in the back even though I asked again to please braid it only half way. Then they were about to use curlers again to dip the ends in hot water. I told them no, just braid it in bulks and then dip it in hot water. In the end, the hair was fine but like I knew it was, too small. I regret not fighting more on the size in the beginning because I went home and they were so tiny and tight I got headaches every day. And within a few days, on my way to work, a braid fell out with my hair. Since then more and more have been falling out with clumps of my hair. I am really disappointed because I knew this was going to happen and just wished they had listened to me instead of insisting what's better for MY hair. I know what's best for my hair and know that small and tight always pull out my real hair. I just redid some of the braids tonight but not without getting really upset at the edges that took me soooo long to grow out, now coming out and looks patchy and short. I think this will be the last time I get my hair done here...and I'm bummed about it because I had really liked them. I give it three stars though, because overall the place is very nice looking, spacious, clean and staff are very friendly and easy to talk to. Maybe much better luck with weave and twists. I wish I could finally find the right place to get my hair done in Boston for reasonable prices. But after 4 failed salons and even a few people on Craigslists, I'm beginning to think that they just don't know what they are doing here. Maybe I will just wait until the times I go back down to NY to visit to get my hair done there again. read more

Way do people derive pleasure in spoiling or destroying other peoples business. As we all know that there are different kinds of clients. There are crazy clients and peaceful clients. I believes business holders should have a way to handle the crazy clients or pray to God not to send crazy clients to them. According to this so called pregnant woman. I will like to tell every one that came across her false review that they are nothing but big lies. I came to braid my hair that morning so I am a witness of this event. My family and friends have being braiding in this salon for sometime now and we enjoy and love it. Now I will start by saying that I knew that morning from the start that this pregnant woman was gonna be crazy because she was net picky and weird but I didn't know she was gonna be over crazy then I began to think that may be her pregnancy was affecting her but it was not her first pregnancy so her altitude was weird. Now if I was Cecile I would have kicked her out from the start in order to avoid trouble because she was really troublesome. Her husband that posted a review didn't even know the havoc his wife committed cos he wasn't there but he posted a false review which shows that it wasnt true. Now this pregnant woman stood up cos she taught Cecile husband touched her kid which Is a very big lie. That gentle man didn't touch her daughter and please why will u accuse a man that has his own beautiful girls of such thing. I'm very sure that there are kids that comes to that salon and they have not being any issue like this. Now to the mother's out there.... How will u feel when a lady accuses ur husband of touching a little girl in front of you? And she told Cecile husband rudely. Oh my God I couldn't take her strange altitude anymore, i was so happy she left.Now this strange pregnant woman stood up and started going immediately without paying her money ($180). And all the hair on her head were braided but she was just about to completes the ends of 5 to 10 braids.then Cecile had to go after her to get her money cos she had to pay her braiders. I was thinking this strange preg woman took wasnt normal or didn't have the money to pay because Cecile also experienced a clients that came one day, bought extension from her and got her hair done but gave excuse that she wanted to get somthing outside and never came back. The amazing thing was that she left her bag in the salon with nothing in it, therefore this is a loss on Cecile part and its definately not fair. Now back to the pregnant woman, she lied she had a witness in the review this was a lie. The witness wasn't in the salon, didn't know what happened and lied to the police man that they were relatives. She also posted a picture in the review that she got injured but she didn't know that she hit the door of the salon on Cecile's hand which resulted in a big blister and that stopped her from braiding for a while..... My advice to the people is to please pray for our lovely Cecile not to experience crazy people like this anymore. I was also told that its her first time, who knows? May be she did the same thing where she was going to and they had to kick her out. Anyway my advice to this pregnant woman and her people is to look for something good to do rather than destroying peoples business unless you will receive the punishment from God.
