The service is always friendly, courteous, and professional. I have never had a bad experience here and I've been coming since it's soft opening in December, 2016. Sis2 has the widest range of nail polish colors I have seen in any salon. They use a fabulous Asian brand and a terrific technique to remove shellac polish. I typically come for the nail services, but I have had a massage as well. It was quite good. You cannot beat this place for it's convenient location and hours, and the prices are excellent. I will never go to any other salon in Ottawa.

I wish I could give them a stronger review as I have been going to this nail spot for over a year…read more However, as a long standing customer, I would expect to have a constant nail tech. They bounce me around from one nail tech to another, and they do not all the same level of experience. My most recent experience might have been my last, I received a gel overlay with Shellac and usually it is no issue getting in and out in an hour. Since the tech took longer than expected to remove the last colour and shape my nails, she wasnt able to give me a proper gel overlay since I had to be out in an hour and 20 min. About 20 minutes into the appointment I had to mention that I had another appointment, I thought I gave myself more than enough time (I am seasoned at getting my nails done so I expected the typical hour appointment). With the time she spent shaping my nails, I would have expected them to be better shaped but they were not straight and were not the almond shape I requested. Since we couldnt complete the gel overlay properly the shellac colour did not go on properly and it is uneven and thick. As a loyal customer, I would have expected better service and better quality.

The salon Is clean and comfortable however where this salon lacks is in customer service and professionalism. I booked for a shellac pedicure and dip redo on natural nails. the tech broke 2 of my natural nails which is always upsetting as they take time and effort to grow. my nails were finished they were good but not perfect. After my nail service I was scheduled for a pedi with shellac appointment which I was suddenly told would not be happening because my nails took too long.i did not want to argue so I hesitantly said ok to. I sat down to get my shellac removed from my toes for no more than 3 minutes and was accused that it was dip and that it wasn't coming off. i was asked to "find somewhere else to go" and leave. bottom line I was rudely treated and sent away with my shellac chipped: peeling off on my walk home. very dissapointed In the way I was treated.

However, my shellac was just slightly better than the one I had at another more low end place, two weeks ago, but cost twice as much for the same service: removal, manicure and shellac. The shellac on a couple of nails wasn't nicely shaped despite paying for a manicure too. The shellac was painted over the cuticle in a couple of spots. The shellac started peeling on three nails after 1.5 weeks. I had a shellac done in downtown Vancouver for 2/3 of the price that neatly lasted 3 weeks. Giving it a 3 because the service and atmosphere was great but not the nail job.

I was very happy with how my manicure turned out. The colours I picked were called Emerald lights and sir teal to you. These two colours gave my nails a sort of mermaid look which I absolutely love! I have gone to Westbro salon once before and they did a good job. The salon does struggle with time…read moremanagement, even with an appointment I would expect to wait 20-30 minutes. They seem to be over booking. In both experiences going I had to wait. My second time going my experience wasn't great. I was rushed through. My nail technician kept answering the phone during my service. Little over 24 hours later my thumb nail chipped. I got my nails done on the Saturday, and they chipped on the Sunday. The chip isn't big however it happened fast. With chipping it will chip more and more. I contacted the salon in private and asked for a partial refund. I'm not able to go into the salon because I'm away. They declined and stated they only fix their work. They also suggested that I didn't put my hand in fair enough for the gel to cure. This is very frustrating that they blame the client for their work/don't clearly state their policy anywhere on the website or when confirming their booking. NowI have to buy white gel nail polish and fix it myself. At a cost. After already paying $90. It should be Westbros responsibility to reimburse a PORTION of the cost. No where does it state your policy of no refund for their mistakes. It is the responsibility of the nail tech to make sure the gel is completely cured/in the lamp. This is why customers go to a licensed salon. I understand mistakes happen however it is their responsibility as a business owner to back the work of your nail artists. Yes Westbro does have strong artists but they are forced to work too fast and skipping corners causes bad work at a high price point. When messing the Instagram account. The person responding it very rude, argumentative, and started ignoring my messages. Overall this experience sucked. I got my nails done for my engagement and they have added one more thing to do. On the already big list I have.
