Lauren responded promptly actually reached out on a Sunday through Next Door to assist me with a well pump not working, A friend had diagnosed a electric shirt. .He is amazing, ethical, easy to work with, offered great suggestions AND Fix my problem temporarily so I would have my water back!! He suggested a different solution for running the wire from the pump to my house, which actually makes a lot more sense in the way it is now!! . Had a weird problem with a set of outlets on one circuit in the house, and contacted Plum Electric describing the symptoms. Loren returned my call and was en-route to a couple of other calls when he said he could stop by. After double-checking the panel and breaker(s), he proceeded in a methodical and efficient manner to isolate the problem, relating previous service calls where the suspect outlet was hidden by furniture, etc. While this one wasn't hidden, it was in a hallway adjacent to the family room where I had localized the problem. Describing how many older homes were wired in daisy-chain fashion using the stabbing sockets (not the best practice), he quickly added a pigtail and wire nut so that, if the outlet failed, it wouldn't cause the whole line to fail. Reminds me of the joke about the mechanic who charged a customer $100 when he fixed a car problem by banging on a specific spot on the engine block. When the customer demanded a detailed bill explaining the charge, it was as follows: 1. Taking a hammer and banging on the engine - $5 2. Knowing where to bang it - $95 The customer left with a smile. Sure, I had to pay for the service call, but Loren saved me a ton of time and frustration, so I'm happy, too. read more

Our home lost power the morning we were leaving town for four days. After it was reported, PGE contacted us saying that we had to replace our whole electric box and they shut us down. By the time I was able to start contacting electricians, it was 4:45 pm. I got Loren Plum on the line before he was leaving for the weekend. I really appreciated him offering to go and see my place, first thing the next morning. Instead, Loren went to my place after we spoke, he assessed the situation and called me. Called upon Plum after a referral from Lavish Hi-Fi & Automation. Even though Plum is in Healdsburg and I'm in Santa Rosa, I gave that referral serious consideration. I've got some very particular needs when it comes to electricity. I now have four dedicated 20 amp circuits. A few days later, I called Plum and the Lorne (the owner) came the next day to work out an estimate and got it on the books for about 10 days later. We have a backyard landscaping project and our landscaper referred us to Plum Electric to set up electricity for a sauna and spa. After leaving a voice message, then another a couple days later without a return call, we wanted to find a different electrician. Our landscaper said he'd call him. Plum responded to that and we were put on the schedule for phase 1 . The bulk of the work. Two guys came out who were great. Professional, friendly and great quality. The plan was that they'd come back once the spa was set up to do the final hook up. Great-About 10 days later,the spa and sauna were in and I was told to call Plum. I still don't understand, (maybe it bugged him that our landscaper had to call?) but when I said we were ready to get on his schedule, he said " Hey, I'm not going to burn my other customers for you." I didn't know what to say. Once again, our landscaper said he'd talk to him. It was suggested that I send a text. My final communication from him was "I'm with my family and will not respond to your texts". Duh- I finally got it. He doesn't want to work with us, Get a different electrician !
