Everyone was super friendly! I also really like that the vet gave my dog a new type of treatment that we haven't used before with him.

Ask the Community - Plum Creek Veterinary Services

Do they board cats for a few days? I have recently switched to this vet service and really like them. I have a heart condition and have to stay at SkyRidge a few days for observation. Would like my eight year old cat to be taken care off. Thanks

Hello! Unfortunately we do not board any animals at this time. We hope that you have a speedy recovery and wish you the best.

Our elderly, medically vulnerable dog was placed at unnecessary risk by this veterinary practice…read more We brought our elderly dog, who has serious mobility challenges after barely surviving a severe joint infection, to this clinic for physical therapy. Before the appointment, we received a text instructing us not to enter the lobby because of renovations and to call upon arrival for an escort inside. We followed those instructions. Although renovations had not begun, the receptionist still told us to wait outside. We stood in temperatures above 90 degrees with a dog who could barely remain standing on the hot pavement, while other clients entered and did business and waited inside. Staff could see us through the doors and windows, yet no one came to assist us. After waiting a while, I went inside to ask why we had not been allowed into the lobby. We were told we were already checked in, no apologies or explanations, and our exhausted dog then had to go outside again and walk down the block to a separate treatment room. The temporary-looking space was extremely hot and had no apparent air conditioning. Initially, no water or apology was offered. When we expressed frustration with the front desk's handling of the situation, the technician focused on our criticism of a coworker rather than our dog's immediate welfare. The veterinarian later apologized, treated us kindly, provided water, and gave our dog appropriate care. We appreciated her professionalism and were pleased with the clinical care she provided. Unfortunately, the assistant practice manager interrupted the end of the appointment and offensively defended the staff, explaining that the text had been sent in error by the corporate office and provided other excuses. She did not meaningfully address that we had been left outside in extreme heat or that no one apologized or assisted our medically vulnerable dog. Instead, she called us rude and we should have verified the false instruction and be nice to her staff. As the discussion became tense, she asked us to leave for not just accepting her excuses, while the veterinarian continued apologizing and encouraged us to stay to resolve the matter. This incident could have been prevented with accurate communication, better staff training, basic consideration for an elderly and medically fragile animal, and a sincere apology once their error became clear. Aside from the veterinarian, we experienced no accountability or meaningful apology, rather we were attacked for calling out their incompetence in handing the situation. The administrative and management response showed a serious lack of judgment, training, accountability, and concern for animal safety. Rather than addressing the circumstances that put our dog and us at at risk in extreme heat, management focused on defending staff and criticizing our response. If your animal is elderly and medically fragile, or unable to tolerate heat or prolonged standing, I urge you to choose another practice. Based on our experience, we do not trust this management team to put a vulnerable animal's or their owners safety first when communication or service failures occur. No pet owner should face the possibility that following a clinic's written instructions could place their animal or themselves at risk--and then be blamed for being unhappy with their poor treatment and raising the concern.

I used to bring my cat, Angel, here and when she sadly passed away in 2020 they made the transition easier for me. After adopting two cats in 2021, I continue to bring them here for all their vet and health needs. You can tell the staff are truly passionate about cats and truly care about their well being. The clinic itself is so cozy and not what you would expect from a typical vet but the ambiance is so warm and welcoming. I've also kenneled my cats here for a couple of weeks when I went to Japan in 2023. The room I booked was the largest accomodation which has plenty of space, including a window, for my cats to enjoy. I highly recommend this establishment for any cat owner. The level of care they will receive will be top notch!

I brought my healthy 5-year-old Khao Manee cat, Gemma, to Castle Rock Cat Hospital for a routine…read moredental cleaning. She died before the procedure even started. Gemma was scheduled to be the second case of the day. According to the medical records and information we later obtained, she was premedicated with high doses of three different medications and then placed back in her cage. When the staff returned to retrieve her, she had turned blue. A visible sign of severe oxygen deprivation. Rather than intubating her immediately, she was given additional anesthesia induction medication before being intubated. Her heart subsequently stopped, and CPR was unsuccessful. We requested Gemma's complete medical records that day after she died. What we received raised additional concerns. No physical assessment or pre-anesthetic labs were drawn, and the documentation provided contained significant omissions, including missing medication times and dosages. We had to make additional requests to obtain information that should have been clearly documented as part of her care. We were initially told she may have had an underlying heart condition or a severe reaction to anesthesia. An independent necropsy (animal autopsy) was performed, which found no underlying heart disease. The likely cause of death was documented as atelectasis, also known as collapsed lung(s). Based on the medical records, the sequence of events, and the independent necropsy findings, we are deeply concerned that Gemma was over-sedated, inadequately monitored, and that critical warning signs were not responded to appropriately or quickly enough. We believe other pet owners deserve to know about our experience so they can make informed decisions about where they entrust their animals' care. Please do not let the word "Hospital" in the name, the fact that this is a cat-specific practice, or a 4.7 star Google rating give you a false sense of security. We learned the hardest possible way that those things do not necessarily reflect the level of monitoring, preparedness, staffing, or emergency care a patient may receive. Gemma was my soulmate in animal form. Not a day goes by that I don't regret taking her to Castle Rock Cat Hospital that morning. Her untimely death has left an unbearable absence in our lives. She deserved so much better.

After going through the process of interviewing our offerings in Castle Rock, we chose Tails Up. Now it books up fast so you really should plan ahead. Although calling them and begging them also works ;) They have a very good online scheduling site where you can book all of their visits. Enzo loves it there and I can vouch for him since I can go online and watch him through all of their cameras. This play does NOT have all day play, which I prefer since my dog would be exhausted if they did that. When I board him there for longer than a few days, I always sign him up for some extra play sessions or tennis ball day where they put out a ton of tennis balls and dogs can live their best life playing fetch, etc. I can't recommend them enough!

He has strict feeding instructions which includes nothing other than the food that we've provided him because he has had pancreatitis. He was there for 3 nights and we picked him up this morning and he is incredibly sick and has awful diarrhea. When we picked him up both him and his blankets in his room were covered in pee from not being checked in on or taken out consistently. He has medication that helps him with his anxiety that he was not given. It's hard to believe that after being given detailed feeding instructions and information about his medication that a facility could be this incompetent. We have to take him to the vet in morning to make sure his stomach and pancreas are okay. I would not recommend this place if it were the last boarding facility in Colorado. I cannot fathom why there are so many good reviews when we've had nothing but awful experiences here.
