This dog park is huge, with a section for large dogs and a section for small dogs. There is a strong and hearty fence, and a leash station to keep dogs from getting out. There are water fountains and benches for the humans, water fountains and a hose for the dogs, and agility equipment for the dogs. There are always plenty of poop bags provided and for the most part it seems most owners pick up after their dogs. There are burrs around, which stinks if you have a long-coated dog, but alas, that's anyone's front yard these days! Most dogs who come are well behaved. Our pup is shy and sometimes has to outrun the rowdy dogs, but I've never seen a fight or anything dangerous at this park. There is plenty of parking and bathrooms nearby.

I then decided to board her over Easter for a last-minute trip instead of leaving her home with my grown son. I booked her boarding on April 3rd for my trip starting on April 14th. My son was very upset about not being able to keep her so on April 10th while she was at a play day, I explained the situation to the kennel and asked if I could just put my $180 boarding deposit towards future play days and cancel the boarding as keeping my son happy was more important to me than boarding my puppy. Well, it turns out that April 5 was the deadline for cancellation. I know for a fact they were not full as I was able to choose her boarding area. The deadline was literally two days after I confirmed and paid the $180 deposit for her boarding, yet I don't remember anyone telling me about the deadline to cancel being two days later. It blows me away that with my unique circumstances, they refused to put my $180 towards future play days as I would've been bringing her there 2 to 3 times a month at $30 a day not to mention the training sessions I would have been booking. I booked it two days before the supposed deadline and a week later, I had to change my mind due to family issues. I was not asking for my money back. I just wanted to be able to use it somewhere else. Lastly please be aware that you are charged for all play days and training sessions when you book the date instead of the day of service. This doesn't seem right. They already have your credit card on file so there's no need to charge you ahead of time. That should be done after the training or play days are completed.

The Onion Creek Metropolitan park is a 517-acre regional park located in Southeast Austin. It has…read morenature and groomed trails, pavilions, restroom, and open play fields. I came for a group trail run through the 250-acre Onion Creek Greenbelt. The park was clean and in great shape. There is a gravel loop around the park that is about 800 m. However, the draw for me was the nature trails in the park that are not too technical but offer a safe introduction to trail running. The trail was about 4 miles long and is fairly flat with a few steep areas. It was a great place to explore the trails whether hiking or running and connect with nature.

Despite being marked as a branch of the trail it was extremely overgrown with bugs everywhere. There was a giant water jug that one kind gentleman kept refilling the bowls. Outside the bark park you'll find the water refill and rinsing station. My dog had a great time, and would probably give this spot a solid 5-stars.

My dad and mum take me here when we are in town and this is my favorite place to run around. Even though I'm just a pup, the grownup doggies teach me new things like how to play chase, sniff and aimlessly run around. I haven't totally braved the water park just yet, but watching the retrievers jump in and fetch has started to build my interest. I did get in the pool up to my chest and got dirty enough to need a bath, but not fully committed to jump in yet. I think if I play it wisely, I'll milk it for all it's worth and probably will get a few more trips in before I take the plunge. Luckily, the park has multiple wash stations on the way in/out, so my humans can clean me up nicely before our ride home. Not my favorite thing to do, but since it's a doggie dog world, I have to live by their rules. Now that I'm 7 months old and weigh 30 pounds, I can play in the large dog area which is much more fun for me. When I was under 30 pounds, I used the small dog area which is overall a bit smaller in size, and the grass is a bit "ruff", so not as much fun. Also too many yapping pups there for my taste. So if you have the zoomies and are in the area, come by and say hi, or come play with me as I'm looking for new friends all the time. It can get busy, but not so much that you can't find a spot--it's all first-come, first-served with no reservations required. There's also a basketball court and, on the other side, a sand volleyball court. You'll often see people playing frisbee or flying drones here, which adds to the lively atmosphere. The park has pet-friendly walking and running trails, a small play area for kids, and a few picnic spots. Restrooms are available, and there's plenty of parking. It's always clean, and you'll see enough people around to feel safe even if you're visiting alone.

Upon driving, I was a bit confused with the lack of parking lot, but luckily there was a shared lot across the street. Absolutely beautiful! I instantly fell in love with this park. I've never been to a place that is dedicated to first responders. I'm happy to know that someone engineered this because those professions are often overlooked and are less paid. The bridge with constant flow of water reminded me of a park in Friendswood, TX (Heritage Park). It's so tranquil and relaxing walking around seeing all the plants in healthy conditions. The trails are easy to maneuver and are smooth. There are some parts that are interactive for children and adults to explore which is cool. Even have plenty of seating throughout the park to sit and enjoy the landscape. I even sparked a conversation with an engineer who was admiring the engineering/construction of the railings. I think this has been added to my second favorite parks and when I'm in the area, I'll frequent it more!
