Candy selection
Lauren H.

So happy I was able to come here so early on in their store journey! I love Swedish candy and culture so I was so excited to hear about Plock opening! It has the perfect location and the sweetest owner. The candy is so good, and there are so many options! You can tell the candy is high in quality and authentic. I was having a field day looking through everything. I love the ambiance and aesthetic as well. The bags and bright pink color are so cute. I'd love to get a shirt or canvas bag in the future, if sold :) can't wait to keep coming back here! If anyone is looking for another great Scandinavian spot in the city - Kantine is a great place for quality pastries, coffee, and cuisine!

Brand new delicious Swedish candy!! So much to choose from!! Everything from sweet, sour, chocolates, marshmallow, extra chewy and so much more!! Lots of unique candy as well!! Get your scoop and bag and get started!! You just want it all!! $18/lb. And it's perfectly fine to be "a kid in a candy store"!! The owner is absolutely the friendliest and so excited for her new store!!

Swedish candy store, the outside signage drew me in! The place is simple, two sides of Swedish candies, mostly gummies. A lot of candies I've never seen before which was exciting! I'm not going to lie it was pricey! For $5 I got maybe a handful of candy, but I would go back to try more, they were good!

I am so glad I got to try to Plock during my visit in SF. I am sucker for Swedish candy, and all things candy, so I knew I had to make the visit. The selection of candy was huge and plentiful. The owner was very nice and had many of my favorites in store; however, I was disappointed to see some of the candy had dyes in it. What I love about Swedish candy, and why I gravitate towards it and buy way to much of it, is that it does not have dyes in it. Despite this, I was able to find lots of options without dyes. They were all delicious, fresh, chewy, and full of flavor!! The whole store is very cute and I hope to be able to order online for shipping soon!

I have been to all the nearby candy stores and this one is by far my favorite. Having lived in Sweden for a year and a half, I can validate that the candy this place carries is truly Swedish!! Moving from bucket to bucket, I was so excited to see some of my favorite candies from a decade ago in SWE featured here in SF! The owner is the sweetest and you can tell she really didn't spare any detail. There are SO many candy options, all very fresh and very chewy! The price is absolutely right too and the ambiance is fun. Overall I am so thrilled to give this place an easy 5 stars. I love the nod to Swedish with the name Plock too! I will definitely be back. Bra jobbet!!!!

With the dark brown décor and brick, the interior reflects the neighborhood's industrial past. The assortment of snacks, desserts and pastries in the café is wonderful- everything is delicious. I've found Dandelion dark chocolate with its global origin of chocolates to be superior to the French or Italian chocolate brands I've come across in a Europe. It ended up being one of my favorite stops in the city, and I really look forward to coming back soon. It's an easy one to get to on a walk in the area. It feels like a cafe or coffee roaster, so modern and clean, but with a clear love of everything chocolate. I'm told on the weekends it gets super busy thanks to their menu of chocolate infused everything including coffees and teas. On the left to the inside is their full range of bars, which includes a placard with the location of the cacao and tasting notes. There are also free samples of everything, and the servers can help you with questions. They even have little tasting sheets for notes if you want to get serious and remember for future visits. They have a few tables and bar seating at the front, with more bar seating along the back right leading to the clean restrooms. Here you'll also find educational displays about chocolate and viewing windows to the roasting and processing rooms. Even though it was afternoon, it was so much fun to order things with caffeine just for the sheer joy of it. We had the chocolate milk, I had a chocolate infused black tea, we shared a special new bar, and were given their signature tiny cookies. Prices are reasonable for the quality, both the drinks and the bar. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, they clearly love the place as much as we do.

There's a really lovely little bench swing in the back that's great for keeping kids busy or for photos. Besides ice cream, they also sell lots of candy! I ordered a Single Scoop with Thin Mint and Toasted Almond ice cream. It was great, my friends and I sat down enjoying their ice cream while catching up on life. There's plenty of seating, so we were able to sit for awhile. I enjoy visiting businesses that have been around for so long, so it was nice to visit this place for the first time!

She's kept the best of the old Sakura and brought in new things including all of the food in the cooler. It happens that she's a caterer. I worked with her for two special bento boxes for myself and husband for an anniversary. I was upfront about my food intolerance nightmare! It begins with gluten and gets worse. But she didn't bat an eye lash - she worked with it and presented us with two incredible bento boxes! The flavors are perfect. Lively vinegars brighten up her unique seaweed salad - which is big pieces of seaweed and nice slices of cucumber. Everything comes in a compostable paper box. Rice is at the bottom and on top of it are small cupcake cups with the various treats inside to keep them separated. We ate at home so we put each cup of deliciousness on a plate, and kept the bowl with the rice. She gave us salmon, a beef dish I can't really describe other than to say it was great. I told her I love mizuna and she presented us with this hard to find green. Hands down our favorite was unagi!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thick pieces with the right amount of not-too-sweet and really flavorful sauce. Dang, next time I'll get an unagi bento box it was that fantastic! We loved every minute of our lunch today - thank you so very very much. You've got fans and loyal customers. Knowing you do full-on catering will make parties and such really easy. It was so easy picking up at Sakura! Thank you again. You are truly a treasure !!!
