Yo this place is so cute. It's got sweets from all around the world. Liquorice, Kit Kat, Pez, Swedish candy, etc. The owner Max is so cool he even showed me all the exotic Asian stuff that I cannot usually find in the States. I ended up buying Wasabi Kit Kat and Ginger Candy.

What a hidden gem! It's rare to find places like this anymore. The owner, Max, clearly pours his heart into the shop, running it himself and curating an incredible selection of unique candies from around the world. Also had the best gummy bears I've ever eaten!

Love Swiss Chocolate. Yummy Driver delivered it to the wrong address, ours was the one across the street, nearly ruined our Valentines Day plans.

Normally candy stores are a no-entry zone for me. A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips. Yeah, like I made that up. If I wanted a Snickers, I'll just order a box on Amazon Prime and devour them in a dark closet...in shame. But Candy's had an allure that I can summarize in two words: Japanese Kit Kats. OK, that's three words but still. Oh gosh, $9.99 for a bag of them. Steep but wait, if I buy two, I can get a third for half-off. A deal is a deal, right? Mint. Matcha. Banana Caramel. Custard Pudding. I bought them all. For friends, for neighbors. Yeah, right. A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips. CANDY - 4 stars...yes please AMBIANCE - 4 stars...festive SERVICE - 3.5 stars...engaged enough TOTAL - 4 stars...Japanese Kit Kats are not manju but good for a fix RELATED - Lost in the Haight? The treats were tasty, but on the pricier side. I believe the pricing reflects the quality of the chocolate used in the products, so to me, the pricing is justified. The outer shell of the canelé had a nice crunch, but the inside actually reminded me of a chocolate brownie, and was less custardy than your typical canelé. Despite not being super traditional, I still really enjoyed the treat. With the chocolate chip cookie, I loved the giant chunks of semi-sweet dark chocolate embedded within it. I appreciate that the cookie itself wasn't overly sweet. With most cookies, I usually can only tolerate having a few bites, or need to have a coffee in hand to enjoy it, but I didn't feel like that was the case here: both treats were delicious. Overall, I would definitely stop by Dandelion Chocolate again if I'm looking for a well-crafted, sweet treat.

Sweeter, like a blanco vermouth. 4/5: Del capo. Tame but good. Like an Amaro Montenegro. Their regular chocolate offerings: 5/5: Chocolate canele: near perfection. I've tried it three times and it's great every time. 5/5: Celebration cake; very dense and decadent. 5/5: Apple Donut with ganache. More like a fried muffin. It's good! 4/5: The S'more is not up to expectations. 3/5: Entremet. It's chocolate covered, with a nut praline inside. But not enough chocolate. 3/5: The carrot cake is very pungent. Not enough chocolate. 3/5: Peanut bar: Like a snickers, and not much better than a snickers. Drinks: 4/5: Frozen chocolate. It's good, but skip the whipped cream. 3/5: Nibby horhata. Too sweet. 3/5: Iced chocolate chai. Meh.

There is a place which sells chocolate from Switzerland and the Philippines and if you are sour because it's Monday or just everyday of the week in SF you should visit a place called Giddy. On Spring stroll in my old school stomping grounds I walked on Noe street and landed on Market at Giddy. Inside it's a candy store with lots of variety of gummies and licorice along with some international chocolate from the Ecuador and the Philippines. What you will also find a lot of varieties of candies which are very sour like some in SF. You will find lots of sour fizzy chewy cherries along sour mango belts. You will also find the classic sour cherry balls and berry sour foamy and sour strawberry and lemon butterflies along with a favorite from Sweden known as Bubs which is a sour strawberry and lemons skull gummy. Giddy is a good place to get sweet or sour.
