Featuring obscure to me musician (X-Ray Ted) on the store's own curated playlist.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I immediately started thinking 'this place is too cool for me' but hey, it's small, we won't be long. Then I noticed they had the candy of my childhood, things you rarely find, like Big Cherry and Rocky Road. Bespoke bags of candy from around the world and museum-quality Japanese KitKats and Asian Lay's chips. The guy behind the counter, Max, turns out he's also the owner. Great to talk to, knowledgeable and friendly. I have a new favorite small business in SF, and it's this perfect little candy shop. The owner, Max, sells an amazing assortment of local, international, and hard to find candy and snacks, all of it fresh and delicious. He knows the flavor profile and backstory of everything he sells, and he's so calm and welcoming. We came in because I was looking for Swedish candy. Of course he had all the BUBS, and he gave me a sample of one so I could try before I bought. I've heard that Swedish candy is hard to find and shipping can take a while, so the freshness of Max's selections really surprised me. It's all beautifully packed in sturdy resealable bags, and the flavors just pop.
