Andre Snowball is the owner of DT Motors and he has kept 2 of my cars running over the past decade…read more His background is in foreign automobiles, which is awesome for anyone who has a car that requires pricey maintenance, parts and repairs to stay on the road post-warranty. While there have been times when I've gone to the dealership for certain repairs (usually when my car was still under manufacturer's warranty)...I have saved thousands of dollars and received quality repairs by visiting Andre's shop. It's true that the location is "out of the way" for city dwellers or anyone who doesn't reside or work on the East side. However, the fact that I can ask any number of questions Or have any number of car issues...and trust that I'm getting truthful, necessary and fair assessments--keeps me coming back to DT Motors regularly. In fact, my previous automobile (KiKi) is one that I drove until the wheels nearly came off :-). KiKi also was a victim of the flooding that happened in Atlanta about 4 or 5 years ago and I was told the car was toast. If you know what it means to "Lay Hands" on your car and pray it starts...well, that's what I was dealing with LOL. Nonetheless, Andre brought KiKi back to life for another couple of years...can't beat that!!! My current car just went off warranty and Andre is once again keeping me safe and maintained on the road. If you've never had a "go to" mechanic...I promise it's worth it if you can find someone both skilled and trustworthy. Hope this helps and good luck!

I was referred to DT about 5 years ago and that was one of the best decisions I could have made. Andre patiently listens to your concerns and honestly gives you a diagnosis without trying to over sell or upgrade your price. (that's not to say there's no value in that quality of mechanic). I trust DT motors quality of work and professionalism of service so much that all my cars (VW, Toyota and Dodge truck) are brought there for service. If you find this review helpful next time your looking for reliable car repair service, I would strongly suggest you give them a try. Good luck and God Bless.

The second time I left my cell number and email written down with the mechanic and ask that the owner call me to schedule an appointment, he didn't. The 3rd time I was there and it was just the mechanic again I decided I didn't want them to work on it anyway.. The location is easy to find and if you don't want to wait in their waiting area, there is a Starbucks nearby, plus the adorable downtown of Tucker. The service was friendly and informative. I did have to wait a little longer than expected, but honestly the condition of my car was pretty rough, as my car had been stolen a couple of weeks before and reeked of cigarette smoke, and was covered with ashes and candy wrappers.. (big shout out to the personal who car jacked me, you did I fine job with that hot boxing for only a few hours.) A while back he was in a car accident and the other driver's insurance accepted responsibility - which meant that we had to go through their processes. I was EXTREMELY worried about the quality of the work but was so relieved to see all the positive reviews on here for Avondale Independent. They did NOT let us down. Their work is immaculate - clean, beautifully done, and the attention to detail was wonderful. They kept us informed at every step of the process, worked with the insurance to get an end product we would be happy with and they could be proud of, and requested additional time from the insurance company when needed - instead of cutting corners to get things done with mediocre parts. On top of that, their honesty and candor with the process and our options made the world of difference. We knew we could trust what they said because it wasn't always the most expensive option (they told us if they really didn't think something needed to be changed etc.). Finally, on top of all of that, the people were my favorite part. I spoke with Kelly so much, I felt I knew her before we actually met. I have used Decatur Auto Tech 4 separate times for various repairs on my 06' Acura MDX. I have never been happier with the overall service, repairs, and price. The CV Joint repair was almost a full 30% cheaper than the Goodyear place close to my home. I would recommend them to anyone who owns a Honda, Acura, Hyundai. I was quoted $90 for a basic adapter--far above normal pricing. After I questioned it, they agreed to reduce the charge by $60, but only knocked off $30 in the final bill. More frustratingly, part of the reason I agreed to the repair was their assurance that it would restore connectivity to my stereo. It didn't. When I brought this to their attention, their response was dismissive and unprofessional--essentially telling me "tough luck," with no attempt to stand by their work. They also performed services I never explicitly authorized, and only informed me of a $60 increase in the cooling fan price after the work had begun--leaving me with no meaningful opportunity to make an informed decision. What's worse, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being taken advantage of as a woman. The way I was spoken to, disregarded, and overcharged raised red flags that I believe many women will unfortunately recognize. It was condescending and exploitative. Between the inconsistent pricing, unauthorized work, failed repairs, and dismissive behavior, I left feeling unheard and taken advantage of. I won't be returning--and I urge others, especially women, to proceed with caution.
