Avoid at all costs! Nothing pleasant about this place. The receptionists are very rude and unprofessional. The dentist (Dr. Jawale) is terrible. I had a tooth extraction here and he pulled the wrong tooth. No joke. He left the obviously broken tooth that was giving me immense pain and pulled the perfectly good tooth next to it. He was VERY ROUGH when he worked on my mouth and it was torn up and I was in a lot of unnecessary pain from him shoving his hand in my mouth and yanking on my jaw for a couple of weeks after. When I got home and discovered the error I immediately went back to the office. I asked to speak to the dentist. When he came out I explained what he did and asked what happened. He said nothing, walked away and went and hid in his office. Something tells me this has happened before by his reaction. The receptionist proceeded to say it was my fault and threatened to call the police if I didn't leave. I said be my guest, I'm not going anywhere until I talk to the dentist. She called the police. Also, good luck doing anything when he screws up, he IS NOT a member of The California Dental Association. Look him up. Lawsuit pending. read more

This should be an update, but sadly I didn't review them when it used to be a great place. Now don't get me wrong the dentist is awesome and was by far one of the better places before Corina took over as the receptionist. I used to refer them a lot of business, but no more and I'm done with them as well. Corina is abrassive, rude and just plain not fun to talk to. I had a dicsount plan and delta, but it was a weak delta plan and I would just use the discount plan, but she convinced me to try to use my plan again. So, I agreed and it seemed like it was going to be a big savings, but alas her projected cost was no where near where it should have been with the claim and ended up more than it would have with my discount plan. Now this by itself was bad and annoying, but we tried and I felt sort of robbed but sadly this was only the start of fun. I had a bill for remaining projected 300 even though it ended up being closer to 900 without so much as a sorry. However, I asked for the bill to be sent with the breakdown so I could call my insurance and it took a few months and lucky me she only sent after calling me complaining and threatening me with collections! Now I know maybe some people don't pay ot whatever, but to threaten me after going there for a few years when she did not even send the bill is just wrong! I finally have the bill and feel even more ripped off than ever, but I doubt there is much I can do except warn others to be careful of bs projected claims and never go back again. It really makes me sad, since I like the dentist, the office is close and everything else, but I am far too old to be threatened by some rude receptionist who screwed up my bill bigtime. read more

I had an excellent experience at pleasant dental. My dental hygienists was thorough and empathetic towards my concerns and needs as a patient. I had an X-ray because my back morals are loose. One of the most comfortable X-ray experiences I've had. The x ray machine they have is pretty modern. I thought the dentist was going to tell me I had gum disease or major tooth decay but to my relief I had taken better care of my teeth than I thought. It turned out that my top morals were putting pressure on my bottom morals and making them loose. So the dentist rounded out my bite to soften the pressure and it feels a lot better. I thought the dentist was very patient and professional in his explanation and care. Coming back in September for a cleaning , can't wait! read more

He is one of the worst dentist I have ever been to not only did he pull all my bottom teeth when he was NOT supposed too he also dropped me as a patient.without telling me so I call for a realignment on my dentures and they say no sorry we aren't seeing you anymore so here I am 35 years old with no teeth and dentures that I can not wear my self esteem is gone my 7 year old asks me mom when are your teeth coming in. That hurts so please do not go to pleasant dental.im still trying to find a dentist that can help me. Corina worked with me on payment and appointments and has always been nothing but nice to me. They let me have nitrous and other anxiety remedies and were incredibly patient with me. I agree w/Amy, I am a patient with Pleasant Dental and have been for the past 9 months, and have had no problems up to this point, my insurance was pretty self-explanatory, Corina explained my treatment plan and finances in detail, I got a print out when I was done, so there were no question's left unanswered, Dr. J was great as well, my advise for Jack would be ALWAYS know your insurance/double and tripple check if you're not sure, they (insurance co.) clearly state on the phone when you call that treatment is NOT a guarantee of benefits. It's too bad that this office is able to be bashed on the web because someone is upset he has to actually pay for services he received. read more

Absolutely aweful!! They destroyed my husbands teeth. We moved county's. He had no cavities when we left our previous county. Suddenly he had over 5. The dentist drilled every single tooth out on one side, and made one huge filling! I've never seen anything like it. Now one whole side of his mouth is a filling. So rediculous! On top of that his jaw has been sore for 2 months since this procedure! The receptionists are rude, it's takes 2-3 weeks to hear back from them if you leave a message. And honestly that's with me leaving 2-4 messages! Worst dentist and office staff ever!! read more

This review is not for the dentist himself, because I never got to actually see him. Our insurance assigned us to this office & after about four phone calls to attempt to schedule appointments for myself & my kids, I finally went into the office because none of my phone calls were ever returned. I knew that wasn't a great sign but I didn't want to deal with switching, I just needed to get into the dentist! When I went in there was no one there but I guess they had accidentally left the door unlocked, I waited & eventually an employee came out from their lunch break & scheduled an appointment for myself and another one for my two kids. Well today I arrived for my scheduled appointment & was told they were not accepting new patients & also no longer accepting my insurance! This made me very mad as I had paid a babysitter to watch my kids so that I could come to the appointment! They told me to call my insurance and I would be reassigned a different dentist! This information should have been given to me after my repeated phone calls and at the very least the day I scheduled the appointments as a new patient!!! Clearly the front desk staff is overwhelmed, disorganized, or just not knowledgeable of their own policies and procedures, which made the whole thing a waist of time! read more

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Jawele and they told me I needed my insurance ID number to keep the appointment. My insurance ID number didn't come in the mail, or so I thought, because I never got a dental card in the mail in time. So I called Dr. Jawele's office during their normal business hours, got no answer, so I left a message for them to call me back. They never did. They also didn't call to confirm the appointment, which would have given me the chance to ask for the information I needed to keep the appointment, and they made up some excuse that I never left a message! So I don't think anyone would want to do business with them. I know I don't. read more

This dentist is out for your money and doesn't care if he does the procedure correct the first time or not. He will not help and leaves you with shoddy work not done correctly! After a bad experience with a previous dentist, I picked Dr. Jawale. I have had two visits and was impressed with the cleanliness of the office and the promptness of the dentist. My first exam was very impressive as he has state of the art equipment. There was no pressure to sell me anything and I was only scheduled for a cleaning. The second visit was equally as impressive. The cleaning was painless with again very good equipment. So far, I am very pleased. read more

This place is awful and I would not recommend it to anyone - even in a desperate situation! I am stuck taking my 3 boys there for orthodontics (ex's insurance and unwillingness to seek other options). Getting appointments is ridiculous - supposed to go for "monthly maintenance" for braces and we are lucky to get every other month which has prolonged the time boys are wearing braces! Office hours are also very inconvenient - orthodontist is only in the office limited days/times so if a wire is poking, bracket is off and such we have to wait days to get the problem fixed and even then we are "squeezed in" and wait for at least an hour to be taken care of. Staff is constantly changing. There have been 4 orthodontists in about 4 years! One adjustment for my son put his teeth into the wrong position (wrong bands and placement instructed)! Took weeks to fix his bite!!! I don't trust them. It makes me sick every time I have to take my boys there! Also, they refuse to bill 1/2 to me and 1/2 to my ex. Because I signed the release they come after me for payment for my exes half resulting in me paying for both halves! They don't keep accurate records of payments either. I could go on and on. End result - I would not recommend this place and would highly recommend turn around and look elsewhere there are plenty of reputable dentist/ortho offices in the area. read more

I first visited Dr. J some 3 years ago. It was New Years Eve, around 10pm, and I was in debilitating pain. I called through the phone book until I got to Pleasant Dental. I called solely based on the fact, in the answering machine message it gave the doctors cell phone for emergencies. This was an emergency. The doctor was able to meet me that night and relieved me of my pain with an emergency root canal. From that point on, I knew Dr. J was my guy. I have since had multiple issues, and Dr. J. and his staff are always eager to help, and extremely accommodating. Dr J is always very nice and genuine. He remembers details about your life that most doctors wouldn't. He truly makes you feel like you have a "friend" in the business, not just someone out to make money. I have never felt "up-sold" and the staff has worked with me through various billing challenges I have had. If I could give Dr. J and his staff 10 stars I would. From someone who has spent a lot of time in the dentist chair, with multiple dentists, it doesn't get much better than Pleasant Dental. read more

I'm happy to say that we had a very pleasant experience today. My son needed a baby tooth extraction, a filling, and sealants put on his teeth which Dr. J did all within a half an hour time frame. I was surprised at how careful and gentle he was toward my son, who's 10 and has a history of dental anxiety. He made sure to explain exactly what he was doing, before he started, told my son he's doing great, basically pepped talked him the entire way through. My son later told me that it helped him relax and be less afraid knowing whats being done. He also said that Dr. J was very gentle which was music to my ears. I've experienced some rough dentists before and dentists who are impersonal... who just come in, do their job and leave without any attempt to make the patient feel comfortable. I'm grateful that this was not the case for my 10 year old. We'll definitely keep him as our family dentist and recommend him to others. read more

I have been coming here since 2010. I was a little worried about having to find a new dentist but I am extremely happy with Pleasant Dental. I love all the people in the office, and the assistants and Dr. Jawale is very friendly and an excellent dentist! The best dental experience of my life!
