    Cute decor on the walls
    Annette H.

I needed to get a filling fixed but the dentist I normally go to was booked and pretty far away. So I decided it was time to find a dentist closer to our new home. I looked on Yelp for a list of dentists and began calling or emailing them to see who accepted my insurance and who had available appointments on the week I needed to go. When I called Pro Dental, I talked to receptionist Tiffany and was impressed by how outgoing, friendly and knowledgeable she was. I was able to get all my questions answered and book an appointment on the exact day and time that I was looking for. The day of, I was dreading the appointment. It's bad enough to have to get a filling fixed, but to go to a new dentist whom you've never met before, and have him work on your teeth....not really something I was looking forward to. Parked my car in a lot that had plenty of parking, took a deep breath and walked in. The two receptionists greeted me and were very friendly. (We even chatted about how sad we were that Bambu next door had closed, etc). I was then escorted inside by Amber, the dental assistant. Nice office, cute Finding Nemo decor on walls. Amber was also very friendly and put me at ease with her cheerful personality. We took some x-rays of the filling and soon after, I met the dentist, Dr. Nguyen, who was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained to me what he saw in the x-rays and soon he got to work. I joked with Amber, "I should have brought headphones to listen to music!" and she told me that she could play a movie for me to watch while I had my filling fixed. Nice! She pulled out a list of movies and they were great! Tons of Disney movies, action, comedy, etc. She even said they just recently got the new Star Wars movie too. I figured I'd better choose something that wouldn't get me too nervous or excited while my mouth was hanging open for the procedure. I chose a happy movie "FROZEN" (gotta love Olaf) and that definitely helped with putting my mind at ease while the dentist was drilling away and fixing the messed-up filling. He often asked if everything was ok, checking my comfort, and making sure I wasn't in any discomfort or pain. His hands were steady (unlike some dentists I've been to!) and you could tell he was experienced and good at his profession. I found out that Dr. Tran (?), the other dentist at this location is Dr. Nguyen's wife and she works on children. I asked about a dental hygienist, and was told that Dr. Nguyen does all the cleanings himself. Interesting. When Dr. Nguyen was done fixing my filling, I was pretty amazed at how everything went so smoothly and rather painlessly. I was all nervous for nothing! I don't usually write reviews for dentists but felt I should for this one. I'm so glad I found Pro Dental and would highly recommend them to my friends and family. I'm hoping to convince my husband to go here for his check-ups and cleaning instead of always heading to SF to see his dentist. We'll see. Thanks Dr. Nguyen and Pro Dental for fixing my filling and for making my visit a pleasant one!

My implant X-rays. Some before and after.

I would like to thank Dr. Kieth Nguyen for continuing to take such good care of my dental needs. This morning I had an implant procedure. To be honest, I was a little nervous and anxious. Prior to the procedure, he did an amazing job of breaking down what was entailed, constantly reassuring me how routine this has become. He used state of the art technology to make the procedure 100% accurate, painless, and with minimum anxiety! I think more people would have this done, who need it, if they only knew that it would go down this way. Not to front, I'm sore after, and have been prescribed what i need to reduce the post procedure pain. Once the procedure was done, the doctor walked me over to the before and after x-rays and educated me what he'd done, and how good it looked. I'm blown away at his bedside manner. As far as the logistics, Tiffany, their office manager / insurance guru, made that process seamless as well. Tracy Cremers & Gracey, go to ProDental as well. We're all raving fans. Felt compelled to share. For funnies I included those x-rays. PS - The dentist came in on his day off, just for me.

So far so good. I have been with this dental practice for years. There have been a lot of changes…read moresince Dr. Tsu sold him practice. While the service is still very good, I guess I'm not that crazy about the waiting room. It's mostly tidy. However, during busy times (usually when we come in after school) there isn't enough seating. But as far as staff professionalism, they're great...and always friendly.

Over the past several months, I brought my son to this clinic multiple times, and almost every…read moresingle visit turned into pressure to put him under general anesthesia. I was repeatedly told that my child was "uncooperative," and the staff even pointed to comments in his chart to support that claim. I was present during his appointments, and those comments simply did not reflect reality. My son never kicked, fought, grabbed the dentist's hands, or prevented treatment. The only thing he ever did was cry once, which is completely normal for a child at the dentist. What I find especially disturbing is that these inaccurate comments were documented in his medical record. It makes me question why they were written in the first place. From my perspective, it felt like they were being used to justify recommending general anesthesia over and over again. The last visit was the final straw. My son had a space maintainer that was placed by this clinic. The metal appliance was rubbing against his cheek and gums, causing him pain. I took time off work specifically for this appointment. When I scheduled it, I clearly explained multiple times that we were coming because the space maintainer needed to be adjusted since it was hurting him. I also requested a routine cleaning while we were there. The cleaning was completed, but then the dentist once again started insisting that my son should undergo general anesthesia and have additional dental work done. I explained, once again, that I was not there for that. I came because my child was in pain and simply needed the space maintainer adjusted. Instead of helping him, I was told that if I refused general anesthesia, I would need to sign a refusal form and schedule another appointment. So after taking time off work and bringing in a child who was already in pain, they refused to make a simple adjustment that would have taken only a few minutes. Instead, they rescheduled us for September. September. My son is in pain now. I understand that general anesthesia is appropriate in some situations. However, constantly pressuring parents into it, documenting behavior that does not accurately reflect what happened, and refusing to provide simple treatment for a child who is already in pain is completely unacceptable. Parents deserve honest documentation, respectful communication, and care that prioritizes the child's immediate needs, not repeated pressure to choose general anesthesia. We will not be returning to this clinic.

We did not know they were only in the office 2 days a week when we contracted to have our son's braces there. We don't like him to miss school for appointments so it's very difficult to get an appointment in a timely manner. We had to cancel an appointment because he was sick and now it's taking 4 MONTHS to get a new appointment that isn't during school hours! Absolutely ridiculous! You cannot call the office directly. You get a call center in India. They will give you a direct number you can text, if you're lucky, but that number changes and they don't let you know, so usually my texts go unanswered. Another kicker is that our son got sick on a Saturday when the office is closed. He had an appointment that Monday that I tried to cancel and reschedule but they only have an emergency number to call. You can't leave a message to give the required 24 hour cancelation notice. I looked online and there was no other number and no email address so I called first thing Monday morning. They actually wanted to charge me a $50 fee for not canceling within the 24 hours!!! I was hopping mad. We have 2 more kids that may need braces but they sure won't be getting them at KidsCare. They have obviously taken on more patients than they can take care of. Another example of corporate greed. I will give them 2 stars because Dr. Carlos is really wonderful but we will miss him.

My middle child has been seeing him for the past 2 years, and my youngest has just started. The staff is very nice, friendly, and knowledgeable, and the environment is well-maintained and clean. I have no complaints about that. However, my concern lies with the doctor himself. Over the last 1.5 years, I've noticed a change in Dr. Staveris. Perhaps he's getting older or tired, but he seems to lack patience with his patients, especially pediatric patients aged 5 to 6 years old. As you know, children of this age can't hold still for long periods and may become fussy if a procedure lasts longer than 10-15 minutes. They simply can't stay still for more than 5-7 minutes. About a year ago, I witnessed Dr. Staveris becoming aggressive and raising his voice at my middle child when she was making sounds of discomfort during a procedure and trying to communicate (with her mouth open) that she needed a break due to pain. Today, for the second time, I observed his aggression towards my 5-year-old son, who was struggling to cope with the dental procedure. I was shocked to see Dr. Staveris shouting at my young child when he was trying to express, with his mouth open, that he was in pain after being scratched by a tool and needed a break to rest his mouth And one more thing, Dr. Staveris likes to talk to his assistant during the procedure, discussing personal matters. Instead of focusing on the task at hand and utilizing time efficiently while the tooth is numb, he engages with his assistant. As a result, precious time is wasted, leading to the need for a second shot to numb the tooth because the initial time allotment has expired. These are disappointing factors. We have decided not to return to Dr. Staveris. Apologies, Doc :( - Note: the Yelp removed my review, saying that I did not have experience at this location. I am reposting this message, and yes, I did have the experience at this location.
