This business has done good quality work for me. In the past, I've gotten fair prices for parts and labor. However, yesterday I was charged over $700 for ($400) parts and ($300) labor of a starter replacement. When looking up what it should cost online, it should have cost $350 total. I called and asked about why the cost was so high, they said that the rust made the labor cost high (fair enough). But when I asked about parts cost, they said that they could have bought a starter for $100, but they wanted to make sure there was a warrantee. It just seems a little strange that a starter with a 2 year warrantee is $300 more than one without a warrantee. If this was my first experience with this business, it'd give it a 1 star, but they've done good work in the past, so I figured they deserve a little leeway. read more

The dealer told me I needed a hybrid battery replacement and it would cost me $3,000. When I brought it to Pleasant, they found Honda had extended the warrantee, so it ended it up costing me nothing. Always good reliable service from pleasant people. read more

Id highly recommended you don't bring your car here for an inspection if you have tint on your windows. Their machine is either not calibrated correctly, or they knowingly fail people. I got my rejection sticker (was told just the back windows were too dark). So I went and had my tint changed, went back and was told it failed again. Except this time all 4 windows failed. Odd, right? Took it down the street to another shop who put the tint machine on each window for me to see that the tint was legal on each one. I drove back with photos of the meter readings. They refused to look or listen. I guess they prefer the $35 instead of a regular customer. read more

Seriously disappointed with Pleasant Auto. I took my car there to find out how much a part would cost. When they got back to me with a (high) price, I told them I would have to think about it before committing to getting the work done. It was then I was informed of a $52 charge for a "diagnostic check." I had not been told there would be a charge prior to dropping off my car. When I talked to the workers there, and explained my surprise at being charged without warning, I was told that they're done "a lot of free checks" on my car. This is explicitly untrue--the only "free checks" I've had them do on my car is inquiring about part costs (which apparently was too much to ask from an auto body shop). When I told them I was disappointed with this practice and would not be going there any longer, I was met with a muttered line that sounded suspiciously like "we don't need your business." Ok then! My entire family has gotten their car work done at Pleasant Auto, and that will obviously be the last time we patronize their establishment. Completely disappointed with their lack of transparency and total disrespect for their customers. Bottom line: Do. not. recommend. Update: The kicker! I took my car to another mechanic, and it turns out the "diagnostic check" done at Pleasant Auto was totally wrong. I ended up paying way less ($500 less, in fact) than I would've at Pleasant Auto. Very friendly staff who have explained issues to me repeatedly on more than one occasion when i didn't quite get what was going on with the vehicle.Nice area to wait for repairs or inspection, with a kids space, wifi for my iPad and concessions. It would be nice if they brought in real edibles and coffee rather than the Keurig machine and hostess. But in comparison to what Toyota charges for repairs while I get my free donut, I'll pay the buck for weak coffee! Also, found out today this is a woman-owned business! So perhaps that's why as a female I don't feel like I am getting sheisted by this business! read more

I went to get car repaired and quoted price was huge !! I was devastated. Went to another mechanic and he did it for $850 cheaper..something wrong at pleasant auto. When I didn't get auto fixed there they billed me for them looking at car ...cars been running wonderful ,got $850 in my wallet and never going to pleasant auto again read more

I've been a long time customer of Cindy's for many years at Pleasant auto, even way back when she also owned the shell gas station. I've always brought all of my cars for services there and she was always such a sweetheart. She has since retired and sold the business to a new owner Stefano who I had the pleasure of meeting just the other day. I had an issue with my car and showed up with no appointment and he took me in right away. Turned out to be the water pump just needed to be replaced. The mechanics are still the same ones that worked for Cindy which was a plus because they have always took great care of my cars. Stefano is very friendly and knowledgeable and didn't charge me any extra fees above his quote like other mechanic shops do. I expected the service to be expensive but it was actually reasonably priced. It's so nice to see this day and age to go to a local business and see how passionate honest and knowledgeable that owner is, and this reflects within the business, this is with some businesses like today lack and it's sad. That's what I was afraid of when I heard the business was sold to a new owner. But my experience was excellent! Stefano had a few recommendations for me but did not pressure me once and I was thankful for that. This is what your local repair shop should do, advise you of what needs to be done with your car and you decide when to repair it on your own time without the pressure. I went there for an inspection sticker and they said I had a parking light out and they said they'll replace it for $10 so I said go ahead. They came back and said they replaced the bulb and it didn't fix it so they said it has to be a wiring problem so they gave me a safety rejection sticker in which you're not supposed to drive with. So I drove with a bad sticker for a little while until I replaced the bulb myself. So they never tried replacing the bulb because it was too big of a job for them just laziness. So I had to take the inner fender cover off to replace it. So I wouldn't recommend anyone to ever go there. Lazy technicians. read more

I went in for a state inspection and wasn't expecting such a nice experience. Tina was welcoming and explained what I needed done. She cautioned that I needed a bulb replaced and that my car may require them to remove the front bumper to do so. The mechanic was leaving soon which was my fault for going so late in the afternoon, but Chad was able to help me and prevent a week of headaches and anxiety if I was failed. Will definitely be using Pleasant Auto Center in the future and highly recommend you use them too! read more

I've gone to this repair shop several times, and I always go back to them because they're honest. One time, I went in because the engine light on my dashboard lit up and I needed a state inspection. Luckily, the only problem was that my gas cap wasn't on correctly, and they didn't charge me for anything but the state inspection. I was relieved to know that they don't take advantage of people. I'll never go there again. I went once for an oil change since it was on my way home from work and was told I needed a $700 repair. I took it to my regular mechanic and the need was verified - but he did it for $300 cheaper; adding that "It's always something with them...and usually it's only right 50% of the time." The clincher that was my deal-breaker: Last year I went to get my car inspected there. I waited in the waiting area and was soon called to the desk. One mechanic mentioned the "car that failed." He must have seen my eyes widen (as I was already suspicious based on the above experience). He said "Oh, not yours." Oh good. I breathed a sigh of relief. (You know where this is going...) So another guy rings me up...and tells me my car had, in fact, failed inspection and would need major repairs. In fact, there were only three people in the establishment, all three of us were getting inspections, and ALL THREE OF US HAD OUR CARS FAIL INSPECTION! One woman was anxiously telling someone on the phone that she was "quoted" $200 for two new tires. I went to the desk and was immediately asked if I wanted to make an appointment for a repair. I declined, saying I was going to my own mechanic, and was met with a mild attitude. Outcome: I got the repair (since Pleasant Auto gave me my rejection sticker) at my mechanic, and went to a different inspection station. I told them what happened and they said they hear that "all the time" about them. Don't go there unless you want to be ripped-off and/or have your car fail inspection. Really! All three people there failing?! What a scam. Too bad this woman is giving a bad name to female car-repair establishments. read more

i made an appointment , they took me after 34 min i cake to fix one thing , then they said i have another thing , i don't trust them , i took the car to another place , they said , the car didn't need to be fixed , so basically these people try to make the car sound bad and unsafe to drive so they can screw you and take your money , they plant the "omg safety issue " game . I'm disappointed to say that I had high hopes for this auto shop because the location and lobby are very convenient. However, twice now over the few times I've been there, my car left with more damage then when I took it in. This last time I went in for an oil change and got sent home with a cracked oil pan only to discover substantial oil leaking all over my driveway a few days later. When I went back in, I was told that this crack was due to "normal wear" and that this "was typical for an Acura". I was then quoted $500 to repair the damage. I left to go to another shop (an hour away, but people I trust). My primary mechanic told me the damage was caused by careless handling of the pan during an oil change and not any "normal wear". He even called Pleasant Auto to give them an opportunity to take responsibility and fix their damage. We were told, "sorry, that car has 100,000 miles... these things happen during an oil change". Well, I've driven an Acura for a decade and this is a first. I find these employees to be careless and unethical. I WILL NOT go here again and I caution you to not fall into their trap to make money. read more

This is an amendment to my earlier 1 star review. Andy Everson, the mechanic here was really great. The problems were corrected at no additional cost and a shiny new inspection sticker was on the windshield when I picked up the truck. I shouldn't have 'yelped' angry.
